Chapter 113: Control, Qirong Tongtian Chrysanthemum
"Wake up!"
Electrolux shouted loudly, thrusting his emerald staff forcefully into the air. The staff resonated with the suspended green-golden miniature sun above.
At the same time, a solemn and grand incantation resounded from Electrolux's mouth. His divine sense stirred both the staff and the Life Gold, causing the latter to erupt in waves of vigorous vitality.
A torrent of life energy poured forth from the Life Gold, dispersing into Lin Yun's Sea of Consciousness. The blood-colored sea, once raging violently, gradually calmed under the gentle touch of the life force.
Not only did the waves subside, but even the crimson waters of the spiritual sea regained a faint transparency, glimmering with a hint of green.
As the Sea of Consciousness returned to normal, a cool current of life energy began spreading from Lin Yun's head throughout his entire body, restoring clarity to his once feverish and dizzy mind.
"No, I can't let this happen!" Lin Yun bit his tongue, using the sharp pain to forcibly suppress the killing intent surging within him.
Glancing down at his fully dragonized body, Lin Yun flapped his wings, stirring the Ice-Fire Spring. His body shot upward like a torpedo, rushing straight toward the surface.
He did not remain at the spring's center. Instead, he relied on the extreme chill of the ice spring to maintain a shred of sanity, preventing himself from descending into madness once again.
He had no time for fear or reflection—he needed to reach the surface immediately.
With Electrolux's assistance, Lin Yun understood his situation clearly.
The Golden Dragon King's bloodline had fully awakened under the power of the immortal herb. Though it granted him access to one of the strongest forces in the Douluo world, his body could barely endure it.
To avoid turning into a fool, he had to find a remedy.
Fortunately, this was the Ice-Fire Yin Yang Well, rich with resources he could consume to help him fully master the Golden Dragon King's bloodline.
Once it entered my body, it's mine!
No matter how mighty the Golden Dragon King was in life, wasn't it still crushed, refined, and delivered to me? Now it's nothing more than my evolution material—how dare it resist?
A trace of ferocity flashed in Lin Yun's eyes.
That ferocity wasn't aimed at the Golden Dragon King, but at himself—at his own weakness and lack of resolve.
Others had shattered the Golden Dragon King and fed it to him, yet he couldn't even digest it properly and nearly choked to death?
Was that acceptable?
If he couldn't even overcome the residual emotions of a dead dragon's bloodline, how could he ever dream of killing Tang San—or of facing that person again?
I, Lin Yun, am no less than anyone!
Boom!
The Ice-Fire Yin Yang Well exploded, scattering countless droplets of water across the barren land surrounding it. The few plants nearby were either burned to ash by the fire spring or frozen solid by the ice spring.
Lin Yun's towering dragonized form beat its wings, releasing the fully unleashed might of the Golden Dragon King. The thunderous rhythm of his heart echoed through the air, shaking every living being within the spring.
Even the Ice Emperor and Di Tian, who hid within space, were shaken!
A roar filled with madness and rage tore through the air, sending concentric sound waves rippling outward from Lin Yun's body.
In the deepest part of the Ice-Fire Yin Yang Well, the two opposing energies condensed into tangible forms. Red and blue liquid energy enveloped crystalline solids of the same hues, slowly drifting and merging. In the darkness beyond, two lights flickered faintly.
"This dragon's aura… is it him?" A cold, aloof voice murmured, tinged with drowsy confusion.
"Wasn't he insane? Did no one manage to stop him, and now he's come here?"
"Probably not. The dragon's aura is incomplete. Perhaps something unexpected happened after our fall," another deep, steady voice replied, though it, too, carried a hint of puzzlement.
"Ah, at least he came early. Had he waited another ten thousand years, even this last trace of us would have faded with time." The Ice Dragon King sighed softly.
"Haha, didn't we already prepare ourselves for that?" The Fire Dragon King laughed heartily, his tone relaxed. "Even with the combined might of the Nine Dragon Kings, we could only barely resist that mad Dragon God!"
"He was too strong—so strong it was terrifying, despairing. He existed on a level far beyond ours!"
"What good did that strength do? He still went insane—perhaps even died." The Ice Dragon King spoke coolly. Once, she had revered the Dragon God deeply, believing that with his presence, the dragon race would forever reign supreme.
With the Nine Dragon Kings supporting him, the dragons had indeed ruled as true overlords of the universe.
But in the end, it was that very emperor in her heart who destroyed the dragon race with his own hands. One by one, the Nine Dragon Kings perished, and the Divine Realm of Beasts was reduced to nothing.
She and the Fire Dragon King no longer knew what had become of the outside world.
The Fire Dragon King understood her bitterness, yet he could only shake his head helplessly. How could he himself not harbor resentment?
"What should we do now?" the Ice Dragon King asked again.
"Let's wait," said the Fire Dragon King with a faint smile. "The one outside seems to be only a fragment of the Dragon God. If he can suppress that madness and fury, then we will entrust our final power to him."
"If not…"
The Ice Dragon King continued, "If he cannot, then it would be better for him to leave as soon as possible. A single maddened Dragon God nearly destroyed the Divine Realm—if another one appears, this universe might truly be doomed."
"Indeed."
The two old dragons fell silent, turning their attention toward the outside world. After all, the Ice-Fire Yin Yang Well had formed after their deaths, infused with their remaining power. Observing everything that happened there was effortless for them.
Naturally, they also noticed Di Tian, who was hidden within space.
"Huh, is that Xiao Hei?" The Ice Dragon King's tone carried surprise mixed with disdain. "How has he regressed so much? He can't even become a god now? Truly a disgrace to Lao Hei's name!"
"Haha, it really is him," the Fire Dragon King replied, blinking with amusement. "But I don't think it's his fault. I know his talent. Matching us in our prime might be hard, but reaching the level of a First-Class God shouldn't have been an issue."
"Let's just keep watching. There's no rush…"
Outside, Di Tian had been watching Lin Yun closely, alarmed by the strange changes occurring within him. Suddenly, he felt two familiar auras—but the sensation vanished almost instantly before he could pinpoint their location.
Even so, Di Tian's heart stirred with excitement.
He could never mistake it. Those were the auras of Aunt Bing and Uncle Huo. Since the Dragon God's 'death,' the thing he missed most was his carefree life as the Captain of the Dragon Guard, along with the familiar presence of the Nine Dragon Kings.
But now was clearly not the time to reminisce. Lin Yun's situation was the most urgent matter.
"Respected One…!" Di Tian was anxious, but there was nothing he could do. Before coming here, Lin Yun had warned him: unless Tang San's divine sense appeared, he was forbidden to act or reveal himself for any reason.
Although Lin Yun's consciousness was unstable, his life was not in immediate danger—far from the point where Di Tian could intervene.
All he could do was remain hidden.
Meanwhile, after releasing a furious roar, Lin Yun retained what little clarity he had left. Seeing the worried Ice Emperor approaching to help, he shook his head firmly and instead flapped his wings, flying toward a specific plant he had located earlier.
He plucked it in one motion and let a few drops of crystal-clear dew from its flower fall into his mouth. A cool sensation slid down his throat and spread through his abdomen, quickly coursing throughout his entire body.
Immortal-grade herb—Glimmering Autumn Dew.
The fundamental reason Lin Yun struggled to bear the Golden Dragon King's negative influence was that he had awakened the bloodline too early.
Had he reached the Soul Sage level, his essence, energy, and spirit would have naturally advanced to the Title Douluo stage. Yet now, before even obtaining his fifth soul ring, the immense medicinal power of three immortal herbs had prematurely triggered the Golden Dragon King's awakening.
It was both an opportunity and a trial.
If he succeeded, he would unlock the complete power of the Golden Dragon King ahead of time. As his bloodline and martial soul were one and the same, he might not gain bloodline soul rings, but his own existing soul rings would benefit immensely.
As for the complete Dragon King martial soul—there was no comparison. Whether it was the Sea God's martial soul or the Six-Winged Angel, before the Golden Dragon King, they would all be crushed effortlessly.
To overcome the negative emotions, the key lay in strengthening Lin Yun's tolerance. After his previous mental transformation, his will was already unyielding; what he now lacked was the raw strength of his spiritual power.
Soul power was secondary. The bloodline's influence primarily burdened the body and the mind.
After consuming the Glimmering Autumn Dew, Lin Yun's clouded spirit jolted awake again. Though the urge to destroy everything still lingered, it no longer overwhelmed him to the point of illusion.
"One Glimmering Autumn Dew… not enough," Lin Yun muttered, turning his gaze toward a sparse patch of vegetation within the Ice-Fire Yin Yang Well. There grew a golden chrysanthemum.
Immortal-grade herb—Qirong Tongtian Chrysanthemum.
Moreover, like the Fragrant Silk Beauty, the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass, and the Fiery Apricot Delicate Flower, it had already evolved into a hundred-thousand-year soul beast.
Lin Yun's eyes gleamed crimson as he expressionlessly approached the Qirong Tongtian Chrysanthemum. He said nothing, but the oppressive dragon might radiating from him blanketed the air like the descent of night, shattering the chrysanthemum's fragile courage.
Trembling violently, it dared not raise even a hint of resistance.
"Do not worry. I will leave your seeds behind. With them, in a few hundred or thousand years, you will awaken once more," Lin Yun said flatly.
Then, his golden dragon claw slashed downward!
