Chapter 83 - Scheming Against Flender

The shop looked rather run-down.

The sign outside displayed a circular mark, etched with several special symbols. They were the Seven Kill Sword, the Clear Sky Hammer, and a Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon, all intersecting to form a design.

Just by standing in front of it,

Ye Qiu's Purple Demon Eye could sense some Soul Power fluctuations emanating from within.

These were all being emitted by the Soul Tools inside.

"Ye Qiu, what are you doing here?"

Ah Yin seemed to have forgotten what had happened earlier, and looked at the dimly lit shop with confusion. It didn't seem like a legitimate business, as they didn't even have the lights on.

"Because the shop owner is a miser," Ye Qiu chuckled, stepping forward and responding to Ah Yin's thoughts.

The door was open.

Ye Qiu walked directly into the shop.

There was only one person in the shop, and no counter was visible. Some items hung on the three walls, such as longswords, shields, and so on, all of which looked very old.

They didn't look like anything valuable.

The only person was sitting in a wooden recliner, eyes closed, swaying with the chair.

He looked to be about fifty years old, not young, but his physique was very robust.

The rickety-looking recliner creaked under his weight.

"Ye Qiu, that person is so ugly."

Ah Yin had been lonely for too long.

There wasn't much to talk about with Ye Qiu, so she could only offer occasional sharp commentary.

"Indeed, very ugly."

Ye Qiu chuckled, agreeing in his heart.

Flender was uniquely ugly.

His chin jutted out somewhat, his cheekbones were wide, his face was flat, and he had a hooked nose. If he had to be compared to something, then his face was a bit like a shoehorn.

If he had to use a creature to describe it, Ye Qiu thought goblins were a good fit.

Flender wore a pair of black-framed crystal glasses, the frames square and stiff. No matter how you looked at it, he had a sly look about him.

When Ye Qiu entered the shop,

Flender was still sitting with his eyes closed, rocking the chair.

Ye Qiu didn't disturb Flender.

He looked around on his own, and quickly found his target.

It was a crystal the size of a human head, which didn't look remarkable. It was transparent, but with large areas of dark yellow impurities inside.

It hung closest to the door.

"Ye Qiu, are you here for this crystal? It's in terrible condition, doesn't have any luster, and the transparency is poor. Also, it has no color."

"Hold on a second!"

Ye Qiu cut off the talkative Ah Yin.

Ah Yin's voice caught, and she opened her mouth as if to say something, but then stopped herself.

Ye Qiu knew that Flender was a real businessman. He couldn't reveal his target right away. Otherwise, he might get fleeced.

Even though he wasn't short on money.

It's just unpleasant to be taken advantage of. Even if the Hair Crystal was valuable, why not try to buy it cheaply?!

Ye Qiu paced around the room, looking left and right.

He could only complain in his heart.

These things were really old. Without holding them, Ye Qiu wasn't sure if they even worked.

If the other person hadn't been a somewhat reputable Soul Sage, Ye Qiu would have suspected that he'd dug these things up from a grave. It was impressive that he'd managed to collect so much junk.

"What? That person is a Soul Sage?!"

Upon learning what Ye Qiu was thinking, Ah Yin looked at the man with the shoehorn face, who was peeking at Ye Qiu with his eyes barely open, in surprise.

She couldn't imagine that there would be such a sloppy Soul Sage in the Soul Master world.

Clearly, he'd forgotten.

There was also a sloppier Douluo, smelly as hell.

Ye Qiu, after a long selection, picked up a somewhat decent dagger from the wall and held it, gesturing with it a few times.

Pretending to hesitate, he then looked around.

Only then did he take down the Hair Crystal hanging by the door.

He examined it for a moment.

As if he'd made up his mind, he asked Flender:

"I want to buy this dagger and this crystal, how much?"

"Not expensive, two hundred Gold Soul Coins in total."

The one answering Ye Qiu was a lazy voice, somewhat magnetic and raspy.

"What?! This junk is going for two hundred Gold Soul Coins? Ye Qiu is definitely trying to rip you off! Let's not buy it," Ah Yin said angrily.

Ye Qiu rolled his eyes internally, continuing his act.

He looked distressed:

"Can't you make it a little cheaper?"

Flender, on the recliner, finally opened his eyes but didn't leave his seat. He said casually, "Two hundred Gold Soul Coins is already my lowest price."

"Pay up if you want it, or get out."

After saying that, Flender closed his eyes again.

Ye Qiu hesitated for a moment.

In the end, he nodded, raised the dagger in his hand, and said helplessly:

"Alright, then how much is this dagger?"

"One hundred and fifty Gold Soul Coins."

Flender's voice was indifferent.

"A bit cheaper?"

Ye Qiu frowned.

"Pay up if you're buying, leave if you're not."

Flender raised his eyelids and glanced at Ye Qiu, repeating the same words.

This time.

Ye Qiu, however, agreed without hesitation.

"Alright, I'll buy it."

"Ye Qiu! This dagger isn't worth it at all!"

Ah Yin couldn't help but remind him.

Ye Qiu, however, ignored Ah Yin's protests and took a money pouch out of his Soul Tool, tossing it towards Flender.

At the same time.

He also came to the door and hung the item back up.

Clap!

Flender didn't even raise an eyelid as he grabbed the money pouch in his hand. He weighed it for a moment, and his brows furrowed.

His eyes snapped open, but the room was already empty.

He saw on the wall by the door.

Hanging there was a dagger, and the Hair Crystal had already been taken by Ye Qiu.

"Heh."

Flender's shoe-shaped face was momentarily contorted with amusement.

He looked in the direction of the door, seemingly intrigued.

That kid seemed to understand him very well, pulling such a stunt.

"An interesting little fellow."

"However, we should meet again."

A glint of light flashed in Flender's eyes.

As a Soul Sage, even without seeing through Ye Qiu's cultivation, he could still sense Ye Qiu's unusual nature.

So young, and still a Soul Master.

Shrek was about to start school.

Flender's intuition told him that Ye Qiu would go!

A few sly expressions flickered in his squinting eyes.

...

"Ye Qiu, you're too cunning."

Ah Yin's voice was filled with joy as she patted her ample chest, feeling a sense of relief.

She had thought Ye Qiu was really going to be taken advantage of.

It wasn't until she saw Ye Qiu put the dagger back that she understood.

It turned out Ye Qiu had known all along that this was a rip-off, and had deliberately gone for the dagger first.

I wish you all a pleasant life!
