Chapter 35 - Lyra: Don't fail the Alpha

The tree flies towards Tom, which he dodges with a high jump to the side. He flicks two fingers of his in my direction, and I see the fog blocking me thinning out in slow motion.

I fling my hand in his direction without wasting a second, causing the fog to thicken instantly. But the motion wasn't only for the fog; Tom Chester flies backwards with the impact, and his back collides with a tree.

I hear him let out a groan, and his daughter lets out a worried bark before she rushes to him. In fact, all the Midnight wolves rush to him and block him from my vision. They look around trying to figure out where the attack is coming from.

Now that I have mentioned it, it's not just the Midnights that can't see me. Moonstone packs are also blind to locate me, well, with one exception—Cyrus.

I'm not even surprised that he can see me past my little trick. It's probably Selene that wants him to see me because I don't remember manifesting an exception.
