Chapter 6 - Episode 6

Emily walked down the aisle, lost in thought as she scanned the shelves for the ingredients she needed. She was so focused on her shopping list that she didn't even notice the person standing in front of her until he spoke.

"Well, well, well. Look what we have here."

Emily's heart sank as she recognized the voice. Liam. Her ex-boyfriend. The one who had made her life a living hell.

She tried to stay calm, but her hands began to shake as she placed the items in her cart. "Liam. What are you doing here?"

He smirked, his eyes gleaming with a sinister light. "Shopping, Emily. Just like you."

Emily tried to move past him, but he stepped in front of her, blocking her way. "We need to talk," he said, his voice low and menacing.

Emily's mind raced as she tried to think of a way to escape. She didn't want to be near him, didn't want to be in the same vicinity as him. But she was trapped, at least for the moment.

When he messaged her back home, she thought she wanted to be close to him but standing before him now, she doesn't even want to see him.

"What do you want, Liam?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.

"Oh, I think you know," he said, his eyes glinting with malice. "I've been thinking about you, Emily. Thinking about how you wronged me."

Emily's heart raced as she realized where this was going. She tried to push past him again, but he grabbed her arm, his grip like a vice.

"Let me go, Liam," she warned, trying to keep her voice firm.

But he just laughed, his eyes gleaming with a sadistic light. "Oh, Emily. You're not going anywhere."

And with that, he pulled her closer, his breath hot against her ear. "You owe me, Emily. And I'm going to collect. Your body, soul and everything."

Emily's mind raced as she tried to think of a way to escape, but for the moment, she was trapped. Trapped in a nightmare she thought she had escaped.

Emily tried to wriggle free, but Liam's grip was too strong. She felt a surge of fear as he pulled her closer, his breath hot against her ear.

"You think you can just leave me and get away with it?" he hissed. "You think you can just walk away and pretend like nothing happened?"

Emily's mind raced as she tried to think of a way to calm him down. She knew that Liam was unpredictable, and she didn't want to provoke him further.

"Liam, please," she said, trying to keep her voice calm. "Let me go. We can talk about this later."

But Liam just laughed, his eyes glinting with a sinister light. "Oh, we'll talk about it now," he said, his voice low and menacing. "You're going to pay for what you did, Emily. You're going to pay for leaving me. I only slept with another girl and you left me. It wasn't like I knocked her up or something,"

Emily's heart raced as she realized that she was in grave danger. She tried to think of a way to escape, but Liam's grip was too strong.

Just as Liam was about to drag her away, a voice rang out across the parking lot.

"Let her go." His tone was grave and deadly.

Emily's heart skipped a beat as she saw a figure emerge from the shadows. It was Marcus, his eyes blazing with anger.

Liam's grip on her arm tightened, but Marcus didn't back down. "Let her go, now." he repeated, his voice firm.

Emily frowned. "Are you stalking me now?"

Liam sneered, but Emily could see the fear lurking behind his eyes. He knew that he was no match for Marcus, and he slowly released his grip on her arm.

Emily felt a surge of relief as she pulled away from Liam, her heart still racing with fear. She knew that she had to get out of there, fast, before things escalated further.

Not looking back, she dashed into the store and pushed her cart to the payment stand. She needed to go back home immediately.

"Let's leave. I'm taking you home," Marcus ordered from behind her, looking around the store.

She quickly gathered her groceries and followed Marcus to his car, her heart still racing with fear.

As they drove away from the parking lot, Emily felt a sense of relief wash over her. "I don't know you, but thank you. I would have done something_"

Marcus smiled back, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "You don't have to thank me, Emily. I'm just glad I was there to help." He interrupted.

Emily raised an eyebrow as she turned to Marcus. "You know, you keep showing up around me. Are you stalking me or something?"

Marcus chuckled, his eyes gleaming with a hint of mischief. "Maybe I just can't resist your charm, Emily."

Emily's cheeks flushed as she looked away, trying to hide her smile. "Well, whatever it is, thanks for saving me from Liam."

Marcus's voice dropped to a low whisper. "Anytime, Emily. I'll always be there to rescue you... and maybe even sweep you off your feet."

Emily's heart skipped a beat as she met his gaze, seeing the unmistakable spark of attraction in his eyes. She felt a flutter in her chest, knowing that Marcus was definitely interested in her.

As they pulled up to her apartment building, Marcus leaned in, his voice husky. "Want to grab coffee with me sometime? I promise I won't let anyone bother you."

Emily's heart raced as she nodded, her voice barely above a whisper. "Okay..."

Marcus smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Great. I'll pick you up at 7 pm tomorrow night."

And with that, he drove off, leaving Emily feeling fluttery and excited for the unexpected turn of events.

Amelia took a step back and sat down at her door step with her hands crossed over her chest. It was just a one night stand, how did things turn out to be this way between them?
