The Plague Magus did not rush to act. He simply waited and observed Eldros coldly, black-green smoke still flowing from his body, turning the surroundings into a dead space filled with madness and disease.
But after some time, when he saw Eldros stirring, and realizing that his own body could not handle the plague form for long, he finally decided to make his move.
"I will cut his head off and study the rest of his body later. I must be quick, so I will not rot the body with my plague power.
"I should be able to glimpse some things that can advance my own research."
He lifted a short dagger and crouched beside Eldros. He shifted the body so that the face was turned upward.
Holding the dagger to his throat, he frowned. "As close as I am now to his body, should he not already be rotting?"
The plague aura around him had corroded and rotted everything else away. He did not know what was happening or how... but Eldros's body was still intact!
He froze. "What...!"
