Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 — Godon, the Goblin Porter

Three days had passed since my last dungeon run.In the cramped apartment I rented—barely big enough for a bed and a foldable table—I sat staring at a small, dull crystal in my hand.

It wasn't loot.It was a keepsake. The only thing left to remind me of the very first goblin I ever tamed.

He didn't have a name back then. But today, I wanted to give him one.

"Godon," I whispered.

A simple name. Easy to remember. And somehow… it just felt right.

For the past year, I'd worked as a dungeon porter—a bottom-rung job for people too weak to become real hunters. My job was simple: carry supplies, haul loot, and clean up whatever the hunters left behind.

But I had one thing that made me different from the others—I could tame goblins.

Too bad that gift felt more like a curse.

Goblins I tamed couldn't leave the dungeon. If I crossed the exit gate, they were left behind—And they'd eventually die. Killed by stronger monsters or wild goblins.

Over the past year, I'd lost five goblins.

And every time one died, I had to enter the dungeon again and tame another.Which, by the way, was far harder than just killing one.

I still remember the first time I met Godon.

He was different. Not as aggressive. Seemed confused, as if he'd been separated from his group.

Back then, I crouched down slowly, held up my hands, and placed a piece of stale bread from my lunchbox on the ground.

He approached, sniffed it, took it... and didn't run.

I knew then—I had a chance.

Taming a goblin wasn't about strength. It was about time, patience, and a little luck.

Over the following days, Godon began helping me carry supplies. He even learned to recognize common loot—mana crystals, monster claws, even broken weapons with resale value.

Other porters thought I was crazy for trusting a goblin, but I worked faster than all of them.Godon remembered dungeon layouts better than I did. He was quiet, loyal, and never complained.

But I knew the truth. No matter how helpful he was—Every time we reached the dungeon exit, I had to leave him behind.

And when I came back… all that remained was bloodstains or signs of a scuffle.

But this time—it was different.

I didn't want to lose Godon.

"I need a solution," I muttered.

And right then, as if responding to my desperate wish, a system window appeared in front of me.

[New Skill Activated!]「Goblin's Grove」 — Personal Dungeon Access Unlocked.

I froze.

My eyes widened.

A personal dungeon...?

A place where I could keep my goblins safe?

My hands trembled. For the first time in my life as a low-ranked hunter—I felt genuine hope.

Godon stood in the corner of my room, blinking at me with wide, green eyes.

I smiled."We'll start over, Godon. This time… I promise, you won't die."
