Chapter 93 - Chapter 89

Killer B, host of the Eight-Tails, had been enjoying the quiet rhythm of the sea when his gaze shifted and fell on a figure emerging from the water. The man's cloak, patterned in black with red clouds, left no doubt who he belonged to. B frowned, tightening his grip on his twin blades.

"Akatsuki…" he muttered, his voice low but wary.

The newcomer stepped lightly onto the surface of the water, Samehada resting against his shoulder. His shark-like features were accentuated by the grin spreading across his face. "Looks like I've been noticed," Kisame Hoshigaki said. "I was planning to head for Kirigakure to sniff out some leads on the Seven-Tails' Jinchūriki… but stumbling into the Eight-Tails instead? Fortune really does smile on me."

B straightened, crimson chakra beginning to seep faintly around him. "Oh yeah! Looks like a battle's gonna drop right here!" he sang, his voice bouncing with an odd mixture of cheer and menace.

Inside him, Gyūki rumbled. Bi, don't underestimate him. That sword… It's dangerous.

But B's carefree smirk didn't waver. "Relax, partner. I'll rap this shark into the ground."

Kisame rolled his shoulders, the sea at his feet beginning to ripple as he gathered chakra. "Confident, aren't you? Good. Let's test how long that confidence lasts." His hands blurred through seals. "Suiton: Bakusui Shōha!"

A torrent of water erupted from his mouth, expanding into a massive wave that swallowed the coastline and reshaped the battlefield into an endless ocean. Kisame thrived in this environment, his grin widening.

"Starting big already?" B muttered. Red chakra flared brighter around him, forming the jagged silhouette of a bull's head. One tail sprouted, lashing against the rising waters. "Fine. Let's throw down!"

He charged headlong, chakra cloaking his body as his fist slammed forward. Kisame met him with Samehada's jagged edge. Their blows collided, sending a concussive shockwave across the water's surface.

For an instant, B thought he had the upper hand—his strike had connected, driving into Kisame's stomach. But then his cloak shivered. His chakra tails flickered and vanished.

"What—?" His eyes widened.

Kisame only chuckled, Samehada's scales writhing as they fed on the red energy. "The chakra of the Eight-Tails… delicious. And just enough to patch myself up." Before B's eyes, the dent in Kisame's stomach knitted back together, smooth as if it had never been struck.

B's playful demeanor faltered. "So that's it… that blade eats chakra." He clenched his fists. "Then I'll just drown you in more than you can handle!"

The cloak around him surged, tails sprouting one after another until eight lashing appendages whipped at the sea, each radiating crimson fury. The water boiled around him, steam hissing from the sheer heat of his chakra.

In the sealed space of his mind, Gyūki growled. Bi, enough games. That sword will keep drinking until there's nothing left of me. Use full transformation—end this before it drags out.

B perched himself casually atop Gyūki's head in the shared space, grinning. "Don't worry, partner. I got this."

"You never listen…" Gyūki a muttered, resigned.

Kisame's eyes gleamed. "So much power. If this is the Eight-Tails… just imagine what the Nine-Tails must be like." He licked his lips. "But for now, let's finish you." His fingers wove through a rapid chain of seals. "Suiton: Dai Bakusui Shōha… Mizu Bunshin no Jutsu… and finally—Daikōdan no Jutsu!"

The sea convulsed. A titanic shark-shaped torrent surged forward, its open maw wider than a house, chakra swirling violently at its core.

B's jaw tightened. He didn't need Gyūki to tell him how dangerous this was. He opened his mouth, drawing red and blue chakra together until it condensed into a dense, spinning sphere. "Bijūdama!"

He unleashed the Tailed Beast Bomb, a blazing orb of destruction that thundered across the water. It collided with Kisame's Daikōdan, and the world erupted.

For a heartbeat, the two forces clashed evenly, the sea buckling under the strain. But B's smirk faltered as the sphere began to shrink.

"Impossible…"

Kisame's laughter rolled like thunder. "My Great Shark Bullet feeds on chakra. The more you pour into it, the stronger it gets!"

The Bijūdama was devoured, its energy siphoned until the shark doubled, tripled in size. It tore through the explosion and surged onward, straight toward B.

Inside, Gyūki roared. Bi, stop holding back! Transform fully!

For once, B didn't argue. His body was consumed in a storm of crimson light as Gyūki's massive form erupted from within him. Eight massive tentacles whipped across the waves, the bull-headed leviathan bellowing its challenge.

The Daikōdan struck Gyūki's body and ripped through it, devouring his chakra in monstrous gulps. The beast staggered, its form unraveling as its reserves were drained.

With a deafening boom, the Great Shark Bullet finally detonated, blasting Gyūki's form apart. B was thrown free, skidding across the water, his cloak shredded, his body trembling. The Tailed Beast transformation collapsed entirely, leaving him gasping, human once more.

Gyūki's weary voice echoed in his mind. Bi… I'm nearly spent. That jutsu… it's unlike anything I've seen.

B staggered to his feet, his playful swagger gone. "Damn it… I was too careless." He looked up to see Kisame advancing, Samehada twitching eagerly in his haIt's scales gnashing for another feast.

The shark-man's grin had only widened. "Struggle all you want, Eight-Tails Jinchūriki. In the end… you're mine."
