Chapter 2 - To gain immortality

Yuan knew this world was eastern. He knew such worlds allowed humans and beings to cultivate into immortality—and of course, he wanted to live a life as long as the stars, since his terminal cancer led him to death.

Chen Yuan—now, Huáng Zhen, explored the capital city of the Han Dynasty. A city massive in expanse, coated in luxury and royalty. Governed specially by the royal family, it was massive. Not just in size, but in presence. Buildings all the way from small shops to massive temples.

And the streets were filled with vendors calling out their products—from spirit fruit to Phoenix feathers. Ranging from just a measly spirit Stone to thousands and hundreds of Divine Stones. Incredibly expensive for most, since 1 Divine Stone is equal to 1,000 Spirit Stones.

He walked the streets, glancing at vendors, looking at young masters harassing people—he hated it. He can't just let them harass people as they want, if the government doesn't preserve the law, who will? But still.. he needs to remain low-profile. A sect or an incredibly powerful ancestor chasing him is the last thing he wants on his list.

He decided to go admit to a sect. Maybe he could have resources given by the sect master. Maybe, just maybe, this would allow him to become immortal.

The closest sect was the Red Jade Sect. Not the best, but will do for now.

Upon admitting, he was accepted as a Disciple of the Outer Court. He won't have many resources, but he would have a cave abode all for himself. Sure, while it may not compare to the abodes of the inner and core disciples, it was decent. Something to live in. Somewhere he can call home.

He chose an unassuming cave abode, he felt an unnatural attraction to the Zí Jié Cave abode. He expected something like a chest or an unnatural amount of Dominion Energy inside.. there was nothing except a simple wooden rectangle. Scribbled with a quote of motivation.

He frowned.

"I feel like I'm getting ragebaited. Aren't I?" he said as he read the quote. "Immortality is only to those who work hard, whereas talent has no meaning."

Whatever old man wrote this, he had to have a deviation in his head.

Zhen sat down, moving into a lotus position to meditate.

Inhale.. Exhale..

As he waited, he felt a faint whoosh in the air.. could this be Dominion Energy coming towards him?

Indeed, it was. The body wasn't too talented nor was it a cripple. Average talent.. well. Better than nothing.

And finally.

He entered the first stage—Domain Awakening First Stage.

Sweat beads poured from his forehead as cultivating was incredibly energy-consuming, commanding every pore of your body wasn't easy at all.

But alas.

He's finally stepped on the ladder to immortality. His final goal—To Gain Immortality.
