Chapter 10 - PRICE OF FAME

*Chapter 10: The Price of Fame*

As the days went by, Sophia found herself becoming increasingly isolated. She was constantly surrounded by paparazzi and fans, and she couldn't even go to the grocery store without being recognized.

Alexander's team had set up a secure apartment for her, and she was stuck inside, unable to leave without causing a media frenzy.

Sophia felt like she was losing her sense of self. She was no longer just Sophia; she was Alexander's girlfriend, a persona she had created for the sake of the public.

One day, Alexander came to visit her at the apartment. "Hey, how are you holding up?" he asked, concern etched on his face.

Sophia shrugged. "I'm okay, I guess. It's just... I don't know, it's all so overwhelming."

Alexander nodded. "I know it's tough. But it's worth it, in the end. You're helping me rebuild my image, and... and I appreciate that."

Sophia smiled wryly. "Yeah, I guess that's what I'm here for."

Alexander's expression softened. "You're more than just a PR stunt, Sophia. You're... you're someone I care about."

Sophia's heart skipped a beat. She wasn't sure what to say, or how to process her feelings.

But before she could respond, Alexander's phone rang. He answered it, his expression turning serious. "I have to go," he said. "But we'll talk later, okay?"

Sophia nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She was glad for the interruption, glad for the chance to process her thoughts.

As Alexander left, Sophia couldn't help but wonder what the future held. Would she be able to maintain this facade forever? And what would happen when the truth finally came out?

Meanwhile, Alexander's business partner, Marcus, was watching the whole scene unfold with interest. He had been skeptical of Sophia from the start, and now he was starting to wonder if she was more trouble than she was worth.

"Alexander, we need to talk," Marcus said, his voice low and serious.

Alexander nodded, his expression guarded. "What's up, Marcus?"

"I don't know if Sophia is the right woman for this job," Marcus said. "She's getting too close, Alexander. She's getting too close to the truth."

Alexander's expression turned cold. "I'll handle it, Marcus. Don't worry about Sophia."

But Marcus's words had planted a seed of doubt in Alexander's mind. Was Sophia truly the right woman for this job? Or was she going to be the one to bring it all crashing down?
