Chapter 2 - Survival

As Leon walked—or, limped, to be specific—through the forest, using his sword as a cane to help him balance against his wobbly legs.

Sure, he may have been one of the greatest swordsmen, but even those like him could fall to an ambush attack. He still had his experience in combat, he isn't truly that weak—

A rustling in the bushes.. that's a Shadow Boar, isn't it?

These mischievous creatures can become invisible for a few minutes using their Innate Ability.

He slashed at the air, blood poured out of what seemed to be nothing, and the shadow boar fell lifelessly, it's body coming back to view. An extremely dark fur coating, and large tusks that were sharp enough to penetrate through leather. they were Apex predators.

A he decided to harvest it. Turning it's ribs in a makeshift axe and using the spine as a walking cane. using the leather to wrap his leg with it to lower wobble, and using some of the meat to lure away animals.

After setting up a campfire, Leon crouches and sat down next to it. Roasting some boar meat skewered on a stick.

"Ill show them. Let them beg at my feet for mercy when i come." he said, eating a part of the roasted boar meat. It tasted far too bland for his tastebuds which have gotten used to seasoning and spices.

It was going to be hard to survive here. But hey, at least his legs healed a little. The night would be the most dangerous, that's if he doesn't manage to tame something to guard him during the night. A nocturnal creature would be perfect as a pet or companion.

He turned his gaze to some rustling in the bushes, sweat poured down from his forehead as he started getting anxious from whatever is trying to prey on him.

This forest was definitely not safe at all. He has to find a safer place.
