Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: My Vampire story.

A day before the race between Nico and Adam, back on the shape, Midori is lonely, so she goes to the ship's library.

She finds a light novel called "Finding Happiness", it's about a vampire named Nanakusa Yoshitsune, who works as a nightshift groundskeeper at a park. He hates his job and his life.

He studied hard in a business school, but he looks at himself today as a failure. Hitagi Nobara, a former dayshift groundskeeper at the park where Yoshitsune works at.

She asks him to come and work for the company where she's working, He agrees and then well Yoshitsune thinks that he has truly found happiness with her and this company, although they work during different shifts.

After reading the back of the book, Midori is hooked, she grabs the other volumes and goes up to her room to start reading more.

Midori finally finishes the novel, she cries herself to sleep. Not tears of sadness but of joy.

It ends with Yoshitsune and Nobara quitting their jobs, because one of their colleagues had taken his life from the pressure of the job. And they too, can't take the pressure anymore.

Yoshitsune goes back to being a groundskeeper at the park at night, Nobara starts a business of selling her glass products.

Eventually Yoshitsune ends up figuring out that he was happier as a groundskeeper than when he was working in the shitty company.

Nobara confesses her romantic feelings for Yoshitsune, he agrees with no hesitation.

Later on, he becomes the manager of the park, then he becomes the owner of the park, he ends up sharing his ownership with Nobara.

With him owning the nightshift part of the park, while she owns the dayshift. In the final paragraphs, Nobara is bedridden due to old age, she's really sick at the moment.

Yoshitsune's final words to her:

" The day I found happiness was the day I met you, you had left your power bank at the park while working during the day. You came to collect it while I was working at night. I handed to you, your power bank, you thanked me, then we talked for a very long time, we exchanged numbers and became friends from that day till date.....when you had left, I was devastated but when you came back and offered me that job at that bastard office. I was grateful...…umm, you know you always called me greedy. You reminded me that I'll live for sooooooo long, so I should just try and endure. You questioned why I hated my job as a groundskeeper, although I was paid well I had no physical defects. So many people need jobs like being a groundskeeper. So why would I have a great job and not be grateful. I realized later on that I didn't hate my job, I was just sad that I had no one with me, not a friend, family member nor a spouse. I had money but no one to spend it with. You showed me happiness Nobara, thank you for that, I love you, so so so so so much. Goodnight.

He switches off the room light and leaves the room, and it ends there.

Midori has a dream similar to "Finding Happiness", this time she's Yoshitsune, while Nico is Nobara.

She wakes up the next day with a headache. She goes to the washroom to pee and wash her face.

When she looks at her reflection, she notices some of her teeth are looking pretty sharp. She laughs and asks herself whether or not she is a vampire and her headache disappears.
