Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Reincarnation Game Begins

"Compared to ordinary civilians, trained ninjas possess powerful combat capabilities and battle experience, even setting aside their physical attributes. They're the most suitable candidates to become the first batch of soldiers—our players."

Fang Yi explained to the silver-haired loli, who wore a blank expression on her face, "All the ninja villages must be treated equally, and absolute neutrality must be maintained. We have to be open and transparent in everything we do. Only then will those schemers think twice before making any rash moves."

The silver-haired loli showed a look of confusion, mixed with admiration. Her innocence carried a touch of cuteness as she replied, "The Game Tower can cultivate one hundred artificial bodies at a time to supply the recruited players. Once we upgrade the tower, it can simultaneously recruit up to three hundred players."

"We don't need that many for the first batch."

Fang Yi shook his head and smiled, "When a battle begins, the first shot is often fired into the sky—not to destroy the pollution sources, but to inform the entire Ninja World."

"We've arrived."

Although he hadn't approached the Hidden Leaf Village in the past five years, Fang Yi had kept up with major events in the Ninja World through passing merchants.

The last surviving member of the Uchiha clan had just graduated from the Ninja Academy.

This was a time of peace—the kind the Ninja World had long yearned for.

Had it been during wartime, things might've been more difficult. But now, it would be quite easy to stir things up and redirect everyone's attention to the Reincarnation Game.

The silver-haired loli nodded blankly and asked, "Master, which pollution source should we release first?"

Fang Yi thought for a moment and said, "Let's go with them. Their strength just barely qualifies as Tier 2. One is Baron Klar, a vampire from the Bloodborne Fortress faction. The other is Sharina, a wandering ghost mage from the Netherworld."

Two pollution sources.

Not only do they fight independently, but each of them also commands countless accompanying monsters—much like regular mobs in a game—that guard their powerful overlord.

Only by completely eliminating the pollution source can the spread of its accompanying monsters be halted.

The newly cultivated artificial bodies are still very weak, so naturally, we should start by picking the lowest-hanging fruit. Lower-tier pollution sources mean weaker monsters, which are easier to deal with.

[Welcome to the Reincarnation Game!]

Beginner Village

This was, in fact, a created space.

It resembled a steel jungle. Everywhere you looked were buildings made from metal pipes—sandcastles designed to resist sandstorms, stone structures embedded into cliffs... Even the weather on the map varied from one area to the next.

The entire Beginner Village was about the size of an amusement park. It had cost Fang Yi a total of 100,000 reward points to build.

As a central hub…

The Beginner Village was a safe zone. Stepping out of it would take one into the adjacent polluted zones—essentially, the wilderness maps.

The wooden door of a building creaked open.

"What is going on?"

Uzumaki Naruto scratched his messy, blond hair and looked around in astonishment.

He had just finished eating and walked out of the ramen shop when he saw a pitch-black tower. Then, a voice echoed in his mind.

By the time he came to his senses, he was already inside a small room behind him.

Others who had shared the same experience began emerging from their rooms as well, exchanging confused glances.

"Damn it! Are the barrier squads a bunch of idiots? How could they let the enemy infiltrate the village?"

"Who could have cast a genjutsu on me without me noticing?"

Most of those voicing their shock were ninjas.

The Five Great Ninja Villages had deep foundations. Even during the World Ninja Wars, the interior of the villages remained the safest places.

Their first instinct was that enemy ninjas had infiltrated the village, launched a surprise attack, and cast a genjutsu—naturally, they began cursing the defensive barrier teams.

"This can't be dispelled? How is that possible?"

Kabuto Yakushi lowered his head and lightly pushed up his glasses. A drop of cold sweat trickled down his face.

Although his public identity was that of a Genin from the Hidden Leaf Village, he was actually a double agent, a spy hidden in the shadows. His true strength was enough to rank among the top even among the elite Jōnin of various nations.

Who was targeting him?

What was even more terrifying was that Kabuto had already noticed something strange about his own body.

"I can't use ninjutsu. My chakra... it's gone?"

Kabuto pressed his palms together, but he couldn't feel even the slightest trace of chakra.

It wasn't that his chakra was sealed or inaccessible—it was as if... this body had never cultivated chakra to begin with.

Had he been exposed?

A bitter smile crept onto Kabuto's lips.

For someone like him, a rat skulking in the dark, exposure meant death.

"Who's that?"

"What a massive energy presence! Is someone using a powerful jutsu?"

Gasps of astonishment rang out around him.

Kabuto looked up—and the moment he saw clearly, he couldn't help but be shocked.

A massive figure, like a blazing sun, radiated golden light as it slowly solidified into the form of a noble, robed young man.

All eyes were drawn to him.

"Hello, players. Congratulations on successfully logging into the game. This means that you now possess the qualification to change your fate."

Fang Yi spread his arms, gazing down upon the first batch of players in the Beginner Village.

"Quit the mystery act! Who the hell are you?" a highly alert ninja shouted toward the sky.

"I'm the developer of the Reincarnation Game. You are the first batch of players I've selected."

Have you ever heard of the hunting games played by nobles? Whoever brings down the strongest beast wins the bet—a jar of sweet wine, perhaps, or gold and jewels...

Fang Yi smiled lightly, his voice echoing clearly through every corner of the Beginner Village.

A ninja glared up at him and said, "You want us to play some kind of boring game for you?"

"A boring game?"

Fang Yi shook his head. "But what if the prize you win… is your very own fate?"

"Wealth surpassing that of an entire nation. Power to sweep across the entire Ninja World. Eternal life. The ability to bring the dead back to life. A chance to break free from your chains… Players who participate in this game will compete for stakes that can change their destiny."

His voice was slow, but it caused everyone to hold their breath.

"Hmph. Recently, a mysterious organization has been active everywhere. Their leader calls himself a god. Could it be you?"

"Eternal life? Resurrection? Not even the Sage of Six Paths could pull that off! Stirring people up with nonsense like this—what a joke!"

Soon, some of the ninjas snapped out of it, sneering loudly so their companions wouldn't fall for it.

"Doesn't matter."

Fang Yi wasn't angered by the doubt. He simply smiled and said, "In the game, players naturally have the right to refuse. If you want to exit, all you have to do is silently think 'Exit Game' in your mind, and you'll return to the real world."

"Or, just walk out of the Beginner Village. Even if you die in-game, you'll still return to reality."

"We can just leave?"

Many of the players were stunned by this.

This mysterious figure in the sky had released such an enormous jutsu, yet now he was allowing them to leave so easily?

Some of the ninjas hesitated, but many civilians, upon hearing that they could leave, immediately began silently repeating the words in their hearts.

A faint white light appeared, enveloping some of the players.

Five seconds later—

Those civilians who had silently said "Exit Game" truly vanished from their spots and returned to the real world.

This complete freedom, with no strings attached, caused even some of the hesitant ninjas to begin reconsidering.

They weren't fools.

Whether it was a genjutsu or some kind of space-time ninjutsu like reverse summoning, the ability to sustain something of this magnitude clearly indicated the involvement of a powerful ninja—or even an organization.

They even saw ninjas from other countries, some of whom were clearly elite-level.

Reaching this level was definitely not something a small or irrelevant nation could pull off.

The ninjas who kept challenging Fang Yi weren't simple-minded. They were probing this mysterious figure's intentions.

And once they realized he posed no immediate threat, they had no intention of leaving so easily.

"Who is it? Is the mastermind one of Konoha's top elites?"

Sumei leaned against the door behind her, arms crossed. Her ample chest seemed ready to burst from the black fishnet top she wore.

She pondered calmly, her long, fair legs looking relaxed but clearly ready to spring into action at a moment's notice.

No matter what, she had to get to the bottom of this—or at the very least, gather enough intel on this Reincarnation Game.

And she wasn't the only one thinking that way.
