Chapter 80 - Chapter 80 — The Chains of Decay

The chamber roared with overlapping sound — steel clashing, frost hissing against fire, and the deep, resonant thrum of the Bracelet of Umbravice awakening once more.

Eliakim's eyes narrowed."Beelzebub… Decay."

The shadow circle beneath him churned like boiling tar, and the chains writhed free, their links corroding mid-air into jagged black-green metal. A pungent tang of rust and venom filled the air. Each swing left a faint hiss as they struck the stone, eating away at it with caustic hunger.

New Form — Corrosion Chains:Capable of melting through metal, dispelling curses, and leaving poison rot wherever they lash.

Skyling, sensing the shift, unfolded his wings with a sharp snap, feathers shedding sparks of condensed aura. He took to the air, circling above Shōryō in a spiraling dive, his talons trailing streaks of silver light.

Gideon pressed forward in Kaelvryn's armor, twin axes biting into the revenant's guard. Shōryō's katana rang in defiance, but the corrosion chains were faster, coiling around the blade. Where they touched, the pristine metal bubbled and warped.

Caleb called out from the shadows, "Clear the center!"No one had time to move before his Arrow Storm descended — a rain of iron-tipped death that hammered the stone around their foe.

Ezra darted into position, palms glowing, and with an almost gleeful lack of restraint, unleashed a barrage of volatile burst spells. Fire bloomed. Air cracked. Shockwaves rippled through the chamber.

Gideon roared over the chaos, axes spinning to knock aside a stray arrow."Ezra! You nearly took my ear off!"She gave an unapologetic grin."You're still standing, aren't you?"

Skyling struck next, dive-bombing into the revenant's chest, talons raking deep furrows through his spectral armor. Eliakim's chains followed, winding around Shōryō's limbs, spreading rot into his spectral flesh.

The revenant's smile finally faltered.

Gideon's twin axes crossed in a final strike, Kaelvryn's elemental power erupting into an ice–fire detonation that shattered what remained of the enemy's guard.

Shōryō staggered. The talisman in his hand burned to ash.

Eliakim pulled the chains tight, and with one last corrosive surge, the revenant dissolved into drifting fragments of shadow.

Only one thing remained in the silence that followed — his blade.

Muramasa — the cursed katana, its edge whispering faintly like a blade hungry for blood.

Eliakim picked it up without hesitation, the Ring of Galveryn flaring as it pulled the weapon into its sealed inventory space.

Gideon raised a brow. "You planning to swing that thing around?"Eliakim shook his head. "Too long. I need it as a stiletto. Something quick."Gideon smirked. "And you're asking me? I'm no master smith."

Then he laughed, clapping Eliakim on the shoulder."But I do know one — Master Halvek Ironhew. He'll make it happen."

Their boots echoed across the chamber as they turned toward the stairway out.

From above, the wind whistled faintly through unseen cracks. The isle was not yet done with them.
