Chapter 155 - Mewtwo's Game (Part 1) Acting

Chapter 155:

After leaving Hayashi Kaede's place, Mew gradually calmed down.

It realized that initially, it had been its own choice to play around by hiding its identity and Hayashi Kaede hadn't done anything wrong.

In fact, he had been willing to play along and provide food every day.

Thinking this, it became even more frustrated, even sinking itself to the seabed inside a psychic bubble. But suddenly, Mew seemed to remember something.

It recalled that Pokémon with its own aura and Dragonite.

It heard Dragonite would only be away for a few days. So now, it could simply find Dragonite and return together in a few days~

With this idea, Mew's mood improved significantly. It began sniffing the air, and after confirming Mewtwo's aura, it flew off in a certain direction.

.....

Somewhere in the sea, on an island.

A Dragonite swiftly flew toward the island, navigating through winding tunnels until it reached a pink, humanoid Pokémon.

"Finished delivering the letters?" Mewtwo asked, looking at the returned Dragonite.

Dragonite nodded, then stared eagerly at Mewtwo, its meaning clear.

Seeing Dragonite like this, Mewtwo couldn't help but chuckle.

"After staying with him, not only did your eating habits improve, but your courage grew quite a bit too."

The old Dragonite wouldn't have dared to ask for food like this.

Dragonite, thinking Mewtwo was unwilling to share the Energy Cubes Hayashi Kaede had left, immediately pulled a sad face.

(;′⌒`): "Ooh~"

"Don't say I wouldn't give you any. Here, eat up."

Mewtwo took out the storage ball, retrieved a pre-packaged portion of Energy Cubes, and tossed it to Dragonite.

ヾ(≧▽≦*)o: "Ooh~!"

Dragonite cheered happily, then left with the Energy Cubes.

According to Mewtwo's "game," its next task was to patrol the sea and rescue any unlucky souls who couldn't even handle the sea breeze. Mewtwo would notify it of specific locations via psychic power.

After Dragonite left, Mewtwo also took out a bag of Energy Cubes.

Unlike Dragonite's, this bag had pink packaging.

This was specially packed by Hayashi Kaede—originally for Gardevoir. But since Mewtwo was in a hurry to leave, he gave it to Mewtwo instead.

After all, Gardevoir's Energy Cubes could be made anytime.

But for Mewtwo, it was different.

It thought this was specially prepared by Hayashi Kaede, and a slight smile tugged at its lips. Its heart felt slightly reassured. "Don't worry, I'll consider your suggestion..."

After finishing the Energy Cubes, its fingers began to move.

Dense psychic power surged, so immense that the weather outside abruptly turned overcast, then deepened into a thick, ink-like darkness.

Then came howling winds, churning the surrounding sea into mountainous waves, stirring up a fierce storm.

Soon, the sea for dozens of kilometers around transformed into such a scene.

Looking at the scene outside, Mewtwo murmured to itself, "The strongest Pokémon Trainer..."

It sat there, lost in thought.

During its travels, it found that most Pokémon Trainers strived for this goal. So, it used this as bait to lure out a group of Trainers.

This continued until...

"Mew?"

A sudden voice sounded beside its ear.

But Mewtwo wasn't alarmed, just curious. "Mew, why aren't you staying with him? Why did you follow me?"

The next moment, a hairless cat-like creature appeared before it.

It was Mew.

After figuring out how to return, Mew's mood immediately improved, and it even had time to tease a Meowth along the way.

It was curious because that Meowth could talk.

But after realizing it could only talk and wasn't particularly special, it quickly left.

"Mew~" (Not telling~) Mew looked at Mewtwo and giggled. "Mew?" (You have my scent on you...)

"Of course. After all, I am a Pokémon created from your genes." Meeting the Mew it had long searched for, Mewtwo felt a strange sense of emotion.

When it was first created and learned of its origins, Mewtwo desperately wanted to find Mew and compete.

But after two months of travel, it had seen much and learned that this world had not only powerful Mythical Pokémon like Mew but also many other strong Pokémon.

Furthermore, the two Pokémon had shared a meal at the same table, which softened its competitive urge.

"Mew..." (Is that so?) Mew circled around it, then looked out the window in front of Mewtwo. From this angle, the sea outside was pitch black.

Mew could tell this was the doing of Mewtwo.

It couldn't help but ask curiously: "Mew?" (What are you doing?)

"Hosting a game for human Trainers to participate in."

"Mew?" (A game?) Mew's eyes lit up. "Mew?" (Is it fun? Can I join?)

Mewtwo instinctively wanted to refuse, but then it remembered how Hayashi Kaede had asked it to confront that dark Dark-type Pokémon. Almost involuntarily, it nodded. "Yes, you can help..."

He had learned from Hayashi Kaede.

Some things didn't necessarily require its own hands. If someone was willing to help, that was even better.

For example, Mew...

The two Pokémon shared the same roots. Was it too much to ask for a little help?

"Mew~" (Yay~ What should we do now?)

"Help me put on a show."

"And wait... wait for the Trainers to arrive."

...

Under the dark sky, sea winds battered the coast, howling wildly.

Other Trainers were busy straightening their rain-soaked clothes.

Meanwhile, Ash and his friends, guided by a faint light, reached the very center of the island.

It was an area resembling a battlefield.

"Why is there only a few people?" Ash wondered aloud. There had been dozens of Trainers when they set off from New Island. Why were there only three here now?

Just then, a figure slowly descended and a voice spoke beside them.

"Hello. Congratulations on passing my first test. Now, please release your Pokémon. I will select the strongest Pokémon Trainer among you."

"Of course, the decision on how to judge is mine! After all, I am also a Pokémon Trainer..."
