Chapter 277 - Barn

Chapter 277:

"Here, this is the Energy Cube that lets you grow bigger or smaller."

Looking at the now-evolved Alolan Ninetales, Hayashi Kaede took out the size shifting Energy Cubes for it.

But unexpectedly, the Alolan Ninetales that had been insisting on getting smaller after evolution now shook its head.

"Ninetales~" (Not eating, not eating, not now!)

"Huh?"

Hayashi Kaede was a bit puzzled but didn't press further. He just said, "Then when you want it, just ask me or Indeedee sister for it. I'll leave a portion of these Energy Cubes with her."

"Ninetales~"

Alolan Ninetales nodded.

It looked at the table that now seemed smaller. It originally wanted to jump onto it from below, but now, perhaps because its body was too large, there was no room left for it on the entire table.

But it wasn't discouraged. Instead, it jumped onto the armchair.

Its nine long, fluffy tails draped over the back, instantly turning the entire chair white.

Its two front paws rested elegantly in front, giving it a rather graceful air.

The Eevees stood before it, examining it with curiosity.

Sprigatito also looked over, somewhat puzzled.

The Alolan Vulpix that seemed a bit silly just a moment ago—how did it become so elegant after evolving?

Watching the swaying tails, Hayashi Kaede felt tempted.

Little Vulpix had become a big Ninetales. It looked even more pet-able.

He wondered if its paws still had those pink pads...

"Serperior..."

His wandering thoughts were suddenly interrupted by Serperior's voice.

Only then did Hayashi Kaede snap back to reality. He took out another Energy Cube and placed it in front of Serperior. "This is yours. After eating it, you can change size."

Unexpectedly, Serperior also shook its head. "Serperior..." (I don't want to eat it now either...)

"Uh...."

"Alright, alright."

It seemed his Pokémon had grown up and had their own ideas.

Hayashi Kaede didn't force them. He then walked over to the water channel connected to the reservoir and looked at Primarina and Milotic, who had poked their heads out, explaining his earlier idea to them.

The plan was, after winter arrived, to shrink them down, bring them back to the villa, and keep them in a large fish tank.

He was asking for their opinion. After all, Hayashi Kaede wasn't sure if they preferred the spacious reservoir and river or being together with everyone more.

If it was the latter, he planned to buy a fish tank over ten meters long to place in the room.

"Primarina..."

"Milotic..."

The two Pokémon looked at each other, surprise flashing in their eyes, and both chose the second option.

But soon, Milotic voiced a concern.

"Milotic..." (Then... if we're not here, who will water the plantation?)

"It's fine. The vegetables planted in winter just need to be enough for everyone to eat. In winter, these trees won't bear fruit anymore, so they don't need daily watering."

He then looked at Primarina. "When the time comes, we'll bring Blaziken and Steenee back to the new house too."

"Primarina~" (Okay~)

"Milotic..."

The two Pokémon agreed without hesitation.

At that moment, Gardevoir returned from delivering food to the construction team.

Its eyes were immediately drawn to the newly evolved Alolan Ninetales on the chair.

It couldn't help but say, "Gardevoir?" (It evolved?)

"Yes. There is a special berry that appeared earlier, one that lets everyone grow bigger or smaller, so it decided to evolve."

Hearing this, Gardevoir couldn't help but chuckle softly.

"Gardevoir..." (It seems it really enjoys being held in your arms.)

"Huh?"

Hayashi Kaede didn't catch on immediately.

But Gardevoir changed the subject.

"Gardevoir..." (It's nothing. I heard from the workers over there that the house should be finished in about five or six days. They're already working on the roof.)

Hayashi Kaede was quickly captivated by this news.

The closer the new house got to completion, the more excited he became. These past few days, he couldn't resist going to see it every day.

The outline of the new house was actually finished over ten days ago. Back then, the construction team was still asking about the interior decoration.

Regarding this issue, Hayashi Kaede listened to the opinions of most Pokémon.

First, the house was large enough for Dragonite, Salamence, Blaziken, Gardevoir, and the others to each have their own small rooms.

Although the rooms were small, they were built to standard Pokémon room specifications.

Inside were various blankets woven from Mareep wool, as well as pillows.

This ensured every Pokémon would have some free space to move around in their rooms.

Regarding the lighting, they also consulted the Pokémon corresponding to each room about their preferred colors.

For example, Blaziken liked orange lighting.

As for furniture and the like,

Hayashi Kaede felt it wasn't necessary. However, he did install two large sliding glass doors for Dragonite and Salamence so they could fly in and out anytime.

They just needed to learn how to use them, which shouldn't be difficult.

Of course, the Indeedee siblings and Steenee, who had lived in Poké Balls for a long time, also got their own separate small rooms.

Because they were relatively short, the room heights were specially prepared for them.

Steenee's room was designed on the first floor, closest to the new plantation area.

That place was closest to the natural atmosphere, allowing it to go outside whenever it wanted.

His, Gardevoir's, and Mewtwo's rooms were on the second floor.

His room wasn't small. He specially ordered several large, multi-compartment cabinets.

These so-called cabinets were actually future sleeping places for the Eevees, Alolan Ninetales, and Sprigatito.

They would be filled with plush fur inside.

Since they liked watching anime, he also planned to buy a large TV for his room.

This way, they could lie in bed watching TV or play around.

As for the living room, he planned to custom-make a large, curved, circular aquarium along the walls.

This would be where Milotic and Primarina stayed during winter.

After thinking so much, only one sentence finally came out of Hayashi Kaede's mouth.

"I can't wait to go see it already..."

"Gardevoir..." (Soon, soon.)

Gardevoir tapped his head gently, its eyes also showing anticipation.

"Hahaha...."

Hayashi Kaede couldn't help but laugh.

He then saw the Alcremie, finished with their meal, reaching out to Indeedee sister for a hug.

Indeedee sister, along with her brother, then carried them flying towards the Breeding House.

Salamence, also finished eating, flapped its wings and flew up into the sky, probably heading back to its post to sleep.

Dragonite, feeling a bit left out, watched as Alolan Ninetales evolved too, a trace of regret in its eyes.

It was probably thinking that now that Alolan Vulpix had evolved, it couldn't jump around on its belly anymore.

Steenee was becoming more and more lively. Seeing Gardevoir return, it ran over and greeted Gardevoir in its crisp voice.

Goodra stayed close to Mewtwo. In its bowl were the dumplings Mewtwo had cooked.

But the dumplings were too small, and its arms were too short; it couldn't pick them up, or they would fall apart when it tried.

Mewtwo had no choice but to use its psychic powers to feed them to Goodra one by one.

Everyone looked so peaceful, reminding Hayashi Kaede of the Pokémon in the barn.

So he stood up and walked towards the barn. "Let's go check on the Miltank and the Combee..."

But the moment he stepped into the barn, the ground seemed to possess a strange suction force, pulling him down into it.
