Chapter 304 - Chapter 304: Nowhere to Run

Chapter 304: Nowhere to Run

"I have to say, the magic that guy Fin gave me is indeed useful. The only pity is that it is a one-time use, and the monsters summoned are a bit disgusting," Solitär muttered to herself.

She glanced at Flamme, who was temporarily entangled by the monsters, a trace of unwillingness flashing in her eyes.

Although this infiltration was discovered, fortunately, the seed had been planted in Carlo. The future was promising.

Now, it was time to leave.

"Lady Flamme," Solitär sneered, her figure beginning to retreat. "We will meet again! By the way, say hello to that 'Lord Rhodes' for me!"

Before leaving, Solitär indulged in a bit of verbal satisfaction.

At worst, she would hide and not come out. She didn't believe that God-slayer could find her!

"Trying to run?! Not so easy!"

How could Flamme let this dangerous demon escape? Ignoring the harassment of the surrounding monsters, she forcibly gathered her mana. An arrow of light shot toward Solitär like a javelin, attempting to intercept her escape.

However, Solitär seemed prepared. Facing this seemingly ordinary light arrow, the magical shield she released blocked it effortlessly.

"Bye-bye!" Solitär flickered a few times and vanished completely from Flamme's sight.

But she didn't notice the upward curve of Flamme's lips.

The monsters were quickly cleared out by Flamme completely. However, she didn't chase after Solitär immediately. Instead, she stood in place, as if waiting for something.

Before long, two figures appeared on the horizon and descended beside Flamme.

It was Ela and Frieren.

"Flamme, what exactly happened?"

It turned out that when Flamme was seeing Solitär off, she had notified Ela and Frieren in advance. She hadn't told them the reason, only asked them to pay attention to her situation.

Her battle with Solitär just now had naturally attracted their attention, so they rushed over immediately.

"A demon infiltrated the Magic Association!" Flamme said fiercely, her anger unabated. She quickly briefed Ela and Frieren on the battle with Solitär and the exposure of her demonic identity.

"What?! Such an audacious fellow exists?"

Even an elf like Ela was furious to learn a demon had infiltrated the Association.

Especially since she had seen that fellow named Ariel several times, though they hadn't spoken.

"Did she use high-level Disguise Magic?" Frieren asked.

To deceive mages of Flamme and Ela's level for so long, one could imagine the disguise magic was of a very high grade.

If the opponent changed their appearance and continued hiding, things would be troublesome.

"Yes. I have never seen Disguise Magic of this level; ordinary detection spells are useless," Flamme confirmed. Then, a triumphant smile appeared on her face. "However, she cannot run!"

She raised her hand. A thread of mana at her fingertip, originating from the same source as the light arrow fired in the battle, emitted a faint glow, pointing in the direction Solitär had vanished.

"I used tracking magic in that last attack. As long as she is within a certain range, I can roughly sense her direction and distance. The reason I didn't chase immediately was that I feared she might have accomplices, and I couldn't handle them alone."

Ela's eyes lit up. "Then what are we waiting for? Let's chase!"

"Wait a moment," Frieren reminded them. Though young, she clearly thought more deeply. "The opponent is a Great Demon. Such existences serve under the Demon King. We must be careful she isn't luring us into a trap."

Having learned last time that the demon attacking her village was a general under the Demon King, facing a Great Demon again, Frieren obviously made the association.

She never expected a maverick Great Demon like Solitär existed among demons.

Ela nodded in agreement. "Frieren is right."

Although Flamme felt something was a bit strange, she agreed that Frieren's point was valid. Being careful was never wrong.

Ela, on the other hand, couldn't wait. Her figure flashed, turning into an afterimage as she rushed in the direction Flamme indicated.

Flamme and Frieren exchanged a glance and followed immediately.

The three-person team tracked Solitär based on Flamme's guidance. Along the way, Flamme could clearly sense Ariel moving rapidly toward the northwest.

"She is fleeing northwest, very fast," Flamme transmitted the message to Ela ahead via communication magic.

"Received! I will try to close the distance."

The tracking lasted for about an hour.

The surrounding scenery grew increasingly desolate, trees becoming sparse. It was clearly a swamp terrain, hiding quite a few monsters within.

"Her movement speed has slowed down," Ela messaged again.

"Be careful. The environment here is complex; I detect many monsters," Flamme warned.

Not long after, Ela's voice came with a hint of excitement: "Target spotted! She has stopped."

"Understood. Frieren and I will check the surroundings first to see if there are hidden demons."

Flamme and Frieren didn't converge with Ela immediately. Instead, they scouted the perimeter of the swamp. Only after confirming there were no traps did they approach slowly.

Moments later, the three silently arrived behind a large rock not far from Solitär.

Solitär had her back to them, seemingly inspecting a temporarily arranged small magic circle, unaware of their arrival.

Her illusion had stabilized again. In Ela and Frieren's eyes, she was just an ordinary human mage.

Fortunately, Flamme had warned them about her proficiency in Disguise Magic, so they weren't deceived.

Flamme made a hand signal. Mana began to flow around Ela, while Frieren slowly retreated to a safe distance to provide support.

Then, Flamme revealed herself from the front. Blue mana condensed in her palm, locking onto Solitär in the center of the clearing.

"We meet again, Miss Ariel." Flamme's cold voice broke the silence of the swamp.

Solitär's body stiffened violently, and she spun around.

Seeing Flamme and the others, a look of disbelief appeared on her face.

"You?!" she exclaimed, then immediately realized something, staring fixedly at Flamme. "It was that attack?! What did you do?"

"Just a little tracking magic. Of course, you certainly haven't heard of it." Flamme sneered.

Master Rhodes had created this magic and hadn't put it in any grimoire. Only she and Ela knew it; even Frieren hadn't been taught.

"Surrender and state your purpose. Perhaps you will suffer less."

Solitär's expression shifted uncertainly. She hadn't expected to be tracked so precisely.

Looking at the three mages before her, especially the elf and Flamme, the pressure on her was immense.

She definitely couldn't win a frontal fight. She had to run.

"Catching me won't be that easy!" Solitär suddenly stomped on the temporary magic circle beneath her feet.

Hum!

The magic circle instantly lit up with blue light, and chaotic spatial fluctuations began to oscillate.

"She is trying to force a teleportation! Stop her!" Ela acted immediately without hesitation. A light arrow shot from her hand, aimed straight at the core of the magic circle.

Flamme acted as well. Thinking she could force a teleportation in front of them was a bit delusional.

Boom! Boom!

Their attacks hit the magic circle almost simultaneously.

The fragile temporary circle couldn't withstand their attacks at all. It shattered instantly, and violent energy turbulence scattered in all directions, blowing away the surrounding gravel.

"Damn it!"

Solitär was shocked and angry. Her teleportation plan failed, and she was surrounded once again.
