Chapter 3 - Ridiculous Improvements

Whether it be to upgrade his talent or his potential, he needed mortal souls.

'How do I get a lot of them quickly?'

Jon racked his brain and recalled that the Stone Village was home to plenty of chicken farmers. If he bought up their chicken feed, he could use it to gather mortal souls.

The "chicken feed" he had in mind was, of course, mealworms. Since mealworms were easy to breed and raise, many farmers used them to fulfill the protein needs of their chickens.

Jon felt excited just thinking about his future.

However, he would've to wait to put his thoughts into practice as it was the middle of the night.

He decided to get some sleep as it had been a tiring day.

He went to his room and laid down on the bed.

Closing his eyes, he fell asleep sharply.

Night waned away and morning came.

Jon went and bought mealworms in bulk from a local.

It didn't cost much. Mealworms were ridiculously cheap. Worth noting, he regularly received a allowance from the clan and the original owner had a considerable amount of savings, so he was able to pay for it without a hitch.

He went to a secluded spot with a plain view. It was rarely visited, making it a perfect place to commit a carnage. There, he placed the sacks full of mealworms on the ground and began stomping on them.

[Total Souls: ×1800 Mortal Souls!]

"System, do your magic. Use all my Mortal Souls to increase my potential."

Potential determined the maximum achievement he could achieve in his life while talent determined how fast he could achieve it. That's why Jon felt it necessary to improve his potential first.

[-10 Mortal Souls]

[Congratulations, Host. Your physique has experienced a minor improvement. Your potential has increased to 3-star. Your upper growth limit has increased to the third minor realm of the initial stage battle master realm.]

[-1440 Mortal Souls]

[Congratulations, Host. Your physique has experienced tremendous improvement, rising to 10-star Low Grade Magic Physique. Your potential has increased to 10-star. Your upper growth limit has increased to the tenth minor realm of the initial stage battle master realm.]

Jon opened the character panel to check his changes.

The requirement to improve his potential has changed again, becoming incredibly tougher than the previous time.

Now mortal souls were not enough.

He needed a magic soul souls.

'Magic soul? What's that?' Jon wondered.

[Magic soul is the soul of a Low-tier Magical Creature or a battle master of equivalent strength.]

Neither were opponents Jon could defeat.

With his current strength, it was simply impossible to hunt for a magic soul.

He decided to wait for the day he would become a Battle Master, which wasn't far off.

On the day of the Battle Spirit Awakening Trial, every descendant of the Mountain Clan age 18 or above was tested rigourously.

The testing was done to determine if they held the potential to become a battle master.

If they did, the clan would fork out their own resources to help them unseal their magic sea and awaken.

Since Jon had the potential to become a Battler Master, naturally the clan would help him.

The Battle Spirit Awakening Trial was only a few months away!

'Before then, I will increase my talent. I wonder how far mortal souls can push my talent.'

Later that day, Jon was enjoying a cup of tea that Melody had prepared for him.

The tea was prepared using magic herbs.

Not only did it have a calming effect on the mind.

But it also relaxed the body.

"This girl... It was a good decision to accept her. The tea she makes is excellent. The next time I see her, I will make sure to compliment her on her tea making tea."

Talk of the devil, and he shall appear.

Jon was thinking about Melody when she came into the same space as him and started cleaning the antique cupboard near him.

The act of cleaning, which was supposed to be simple and ordinary, was transformed into a stunning performance under her seductive movements.

The way she moved as she cleaned demanded all of Jon's attention.

He fixed his gaze on her, watching her clean the cupboard from the bottom up while twisting her waist and swinging her broad hips in ways that effortlessly aroused sinful thoughts.

To clean the top shelf of the cupboard, she had to stand on her tiptoes, and when she did, her skirt rose high enough to reveal she was wearing no panties.

Bare, perfectly round, and smooth as silk.

Such was Jon's description of her ass.

He licked his lips, captivated by the delicious sight Melody had presented him.

Whether it was intentional or not, it didn't matter.

What mattered was that he was pleased, his boredom whisking away, being replaced by excitement and joy.

'He is looking at me with such intensity I can feel it even though my back is turned to him. My seduction is working.'

Everything Melody had done so far was intentional, so she could entice him into bedding her. She was eager to trap him between her legs so that she wouldn't miss this rare opportunity of snatching a man worthy of her.

She was at the age of getting married. The only reason she didn't was that she hadn't found a suitable match. Everyone who came seeking her hand was too poor to give her a good life and too fat and ugly to turn her on.

Jon was neither of those things. He wasn't ugly and fat, and he was not poor.

He was the descendant of the Mountain Clan.

If she could become his wife, for once she would feel satisfied with life!

Motivated to the highest degree, she swung her hips, and the fleshy cheeks peeking from beneath her skirt moved side to side in a slow, hypnotic rhythm. 'Be seduced and fuck me.'

Jon's eyes followed her every moment, drinking in the sight of her bare ass swaying tantalizingly.

"Why is your gaze so intense and full of lust, Young Master?"

As she spoke, Melody glanced over her shoulder just long enough for him to catch the faint, dangerous smirk on her lips before turning back.

"Isn't it because you're putting on an irresistible show?" Jon dared to meet her gaze without shame.

"If you don't mind, may I turn it up a notch?" Melody asked.

"Why not? Do it," Jon said.

"As you command, Young Master," Melody replied.
