Birds tweet and mild wind are heard through the cold neighborhood of nayuta as little to no people are outside at such early time. a cat strolls from a wall down to an alley then walks over to a boy, sleeping on the floor with nothing to shield him from the cold temperatures. The cat reaches him and cuddles himself close to the boy as the boy suddenly wakes up to see the cat by his Side
"Oh turo where did you go last night...."
He cuddles turo,his cat and smiles then closes his eyes as a teardrop escapes his eyelid
A girl and her dad walks through the alley way,the girl seems to be heading to school and the man dressed for work. The girl noticed the boy lying helplessly on the ground and moves to check him but is stopped by her father
"Don't go there... That's the reject that brings bad luck....."
"But...."
"Let him be....."the girl looks at his face one more time and throws him a snack before walking away with her dad

Time:8-41am
The city become more lively with people going and coming to and fro the surroundings, the boy sits in front of an abandoned building and begs for money but doesn't get anything till 4pm when the girl passes by without her dad
"Hey...."
She suddenly noticed the boy crying unconsciously and walks over to his side and sits by his side
"What happened?"
"Huh... I'm alright-"
He instinctively touches his eyes and realises that he's crying
"Huh... I'm crying?"
"I'll stay here with you...."
"What about your dad? "
"He isn't going to be back early..."
They stay and talk to each other for a long time until it became dark
"Oh sorry I've to go..."she said as she stands up to leave
"W-wait.... Why do you still associate with me despite our difference in status"
"Difference in status doesn't define anything..."
As she said that, she runs to her house so that her dad won't spot her there.ten minutes later her dad passes by and spots the boy in a corner sitting down quietly
"Oh you....."
He walks over to his side and beats the crap out of him for about thirty minutes before coming to his senses
"Oh sorry that I lashed out on you, I was looking for a place to lash out my anger cause they transferred me you know....."
After saying those words,he walks out with a grin on his face satisfied at his actions towards the boy. Later, the boy stands up and searches for a place where he'll sleep for the night and stumbled upon some suspicious people all dressed in white and black coats standing at the end of an alley way. They seemed to be talking about something important to them
"I hear those gods have returned...."
"I thought we did away with them last time....."
"It's all because of existence and those other true gods...."
amongst the three people there, one said nothing but relaxed his hands in his coat like he wasn't part of their conversation he suddenly turned towards where the boy was listening in on them and walks there
"There's someone there...."
The other two becomes alert and stand guard as he closes in. The boy contemplates whether to run or just accept his fate quietly
Nobody likes me either ways
The Man reaches and looks at the boy with a merciless expression on his face
"What did you see"
"..."
The other two walks to meet him but he stops them
"It's nothing.... I was just silent cause I realized nothing was there..."
The other two readily agree with him and turns back.
"I guess this place isn't that safe anymore.... Let's go"
"You guys should go ahead let me scout the place one more time..."
They teleport leaving him there
The boy remained shocked as to why the mysterious man spared him even after eavesdropping on their conversation. He turns to check whether the man is still there but doesn't see any body then he turns back only to see the man squatting in front of him with a dangerous grin on his face
"Are you hoshino danzai by any chance?"
"Yes...."
"Ah I see..."
The grin changes to a smile
"I'm glad you're alright"
The man stands up satisfied
"For now look for a place to hide,if the others see you they'll kill you...."
Danzai stares at the man in silence slightly happy and slightly confused
"Gotta go..."
The man disappears into the night leaving danzai relieved

THE NEXT DAY
Danzai continues his daily life with a slightly better atmosphere around him,he even gained more money than the previous week put together which made his resolve stronger. The girl passes by with her dad and waves danzai with a smile to which danzai answers back. Her dad spots them and does nothing but walks away which makes danzai a little cautious
By the end of the day, danzai had made about ¥12,000 and had doubts regarding what to do with it. Just then some group of boys came along and snatched the money and beat the hell out of danzai which makes him to cry and return back to his depressed state. The girl's dad passes by and scoffs at danzai
"You're weak...."
"..."
"We're moving out tomorrow by the way... Good luck on your struggles"
The moment he mentioned good luck, danzai's body reacted to it and danzai began to sweat uncontrollably, after he leaves his body continued to react and danzai slowly began to lose consciousness
"W-what is happening to me..."
Before completely losing consciousness,he sees a young boy of his age coming towards him
Am I dead

Danzai wakes up with a start and looks around for any traces of blood on him but sees nothing. Just then the girl walks up to him
"Um, danzai... Have you heard we're moving out today?"
"Yes... Your dad told me...."
"Figured"
"What?"
"Oh no it's nothing,I just realized why my dad let me meet you today...."
"Um.... Where are you going to live now..."
"Tokyo.."
"I'll find you ... I promise"
She smiles brightly with that statement
"I'll be waiting "
Her father calls out to her and she runs to him after waving him. She then enters the car and the father drives off leaving danzai a little sad
TWO WEEKS LATER
danzai is sitting in front of his 'house' tired and lazy after a days work.danzai had managed to get a part time job at a restaurant and just finished his shift. A boy and a man approach him. Danzai reacted to the boy's face
"You were the one from back then...."
"So..."
"It was really you..."
"Hmph"
The man just watched their conversation for a while before talking
"You're hoshino danzai right?..."
"Yes?"
The man smiles
"Let's go to Tokyo..."
"Eh.."
Did he just say Tokyo
we're officially recruiting new embodiments and you're among them
"What's an embodiment?"
"That's long talk, pack your things let's go"
A chance to meet her
I don't really have a bag now
"That makes it easier"
They all walk out.the man stops moving suddenly
"What?"the boy asked
"Where's Tokyo?....."
