Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 – You Have to Agree to One Condition

"Miss Yao Yao, I'm afraid the only one who can help us now is Miss He Ling."Mr. Wu's tone was grave as he looked at Qian Siyao."You have a good relationship with her, and given her connection with President Lin, if you beg her to speak on our behalf, we should have a chance to meet him. But this is a rare opportunity—if you meet President Lin, you must sincerely apologize and grab this chance with everything you've got! This might be the only way to save Old Master Qian's life!"

Qian Siyao nodded and immediately dialed He Ling's number.

Lin Chen picked up He Ling's call. In the end, he gave her face and agreed to meet Qian Siyao—alone.

The moment Siyao got the news, she rushed to the elevator and made her way to Lin Chen's office at the fastest speed possible.

Lin Chen raised his gaze slightly when she entered. There were beads of sweat glistening on her forehead, her breathing a little rushed. She looked slightly disheveled, but that couldn't hide her beauty—there was a delicate, refined charm about her. Her petite frame and clear features made her look like a graceful little spirit.

"President Lin, please… save my grandfather!" She didn't waste a second before pleading.

"You mean Qian Dafeng, right?" Lin Chen's voice was calm.

"Yes! I'm his granddaughter. My grandfather raised me since I was a child. No matter the cost, I must save him!"

Lin Chen took a sip of tea and said slowly, "Yesterday, I said I could save him, but he didn't believe me. And now you want me to save him again… What do you take me for?"

Siyao's knees buckled, and she dropped to the floor."President Lin, I'm sorry! We were wrong! Please, as long as you're willing to save my grandfather, I'm willing to accept any condition you ask for!"

Lin Chen's eyes lit with interest. This fragile-looking woman actually had more courage and responsibility than the rest of the Qian family.

He stood up, walked over, and looked down at her."Any condition?"

Her delicate body trembled. She bit her lip so hard it almost bled."Yes. As long as you save my grandfather, no matter what you ask, I will agree."

Lin Chen chuckled, placing his hand lightly on her shoulder. She shuddered, every instinct screaming at her to step back. But thinking of her grandfather's life hanging by a thread, she forced herself to stand still.

"Stand up," Lin Chen said, pulling her to her feet."I've seen your determination. For the sake of your filial piety and courage, as long as your Qian family agrees to one condition, I'll act."

"What condition? As long as it's within our power, we'll do it!" Siyao's eyes welled up, tears streaming freely.

"Enough with the tears. People will think I bullied you," Lin Chen said, handing her a handkerchief."Wipe your face."

At the Qian family villa, the air felt heavy and still.

Hua Ning, standing beside Qian Dafeng, could feel the old man's pulse growing weaker by the minute. His face darkened. The rest of the family wore masks of concern, but their eyes told different stories. The only one here who truly cared was Mr. Wu.

Right now, all he could do was hope Siyao would return with Lin Chen—their last hope.

The door creaked open, drawing everyone's attention.

"Miss Yao Yao, did you bring Mr. Lin?" Mr. Wu asked urgently.

Some faces brightened with hope, others dimmed in disappointment.

"This is President Lin," Siyao said, stepping aside to reveal Lin Chen.

The moment Hua Ning saw Lin Chen, he sighed. "It's over."

He had imagined an unfathomable master, not a young man in his twenties. It wasn't that he despised youth—but true medical mastery required decades of learning and experience. Even if this young man knew medicine, how could his skills surpass his own, a practitioner of generations-old techniques?

"If I can't save him, how could he?" Hua Ning shook his head."Prepare for the funeral."

Hearing this, the Qian family's last shred of hope crumbled.

But Lin Chen stepped forward, his voice like steel."Since I'm here, he won't die."

He grabbed Qian Dafeng's wrist.

"Young man, don't waste your strength," Hua Ning said."He's only alive now because I sealed his meridians with needles. This can only delay the inevitable—it won't cure him. He won't last another hour."

Lin Chen glanced at him. The man's skills weren't bad, but compared to his own… they were worlds apart.

Before Lin Chen could reply, an angry voice rang out.

"Throw this troublemaker out!"

It was Qian Hao, the second grandson of Qian Dafeng, storming in with several bodyguards."Who do you think you are? Even Master Hua says my grandfather can't be saved, and you think you can?"

"Get out now, or don't blame me for being rude!"

The bodyguards moved in, but—

"Stop!"

Mr. Wu stepped forward like a wall. The bodyguards froze.

"Mr. Wu, why are you defending an outsider?" Qian Hao gritted his teeth.

Ignoring him, Mr. Wu swept the room with a warning gaze, then turned to Lin Chen."Mr. Lin, please… save Old Master Qian."

No one dared to speak again.

"Save him? Sure…" Lin Chen's lips curled into a faint smile as his gaze swept the crowd before landing on Mr. Wu."But as we agreed before—you'll have to promise me one condition."
