The Eight Great Paladins.

They became the new pillars of society and protected the human race. They formed the eight great clans and move the world forward after it's fall. They built the new power system where strength mattered above all else and discovered how to live in the new world utilizing the mana for advancement.

Compared to Earth, Novarion was at least a hundred years ahead in technology, although it still retained various traditional styles.

But despite all, strength and power ruled and stood as the only measure of one's worth

In this world, the strength of a person is mainly determined by their mana core rank which. There are seven core ranks with each having five sub-stages.

Novice Stage 1 to 5.

Intermediate Stage 1 to 5.

Advanced Stage 1 to 5.

Master Stage 1 to 5.

Savant Stage 1 to 5

Empyrean Stage 1 to 5.

Ascendant Stage 1 to 5.

Currently, each of the Eight Clans had no more than one Ascendant rank.Whether this was natural or the heaven's attempt to maintain the delicate balance, this had always been the norm, ensuring a general level of balance between clan powers.

Neo had been reincarnated as the second son of the Castreed Clan's leader's brother, Leroy Castreed. He had automatically became a sort of prince upon arrival, albeit a second prince. Their father was famed as one of the clan's strongest, even rumored to rival the clan leader himself.

"Speaking of my father, it's been five years and I've never even met the guy, just hope he's not dead or anything, that would make things difficult."

From what he had gathered, there seemed to be some kind of battle going on with another clan. Unfortunately, it seemed his mother had warned the maids and guards against divulging any more information concerning the clan's affairs.

He mentally sighed.

[Well, you're technically still a five year old, you can't expect them to start giving you a clan briefing.]

Neo sighed wearily."I guess so, but it's still frustrating, I need to know where I stand in this world so I can plan ahead."

[What's there to plan, just get stronger, simple as that.]

"Sigh, I guess so."

He slowly made his way to his room. It was... large. The walls were painted in a bright crimson and gold theme, coincidentally also the clan's signature color. The high golden draperies drifted lazily in the breeze, casting soft dancing shadows across the room. All across the room were piles of scattered toys, deliberately throw about to make it seem like he used them. In the far side of the room, a majestic king size bed stood, the soft silken sheets practically oozing comfort, yet Neo wasn't drawn to the luxury of the room. He now cared little for the aesthetics as long as he got a good night's sleep. He only has one thing in mind.

"Time to train."

He sat down cross-legged on the comfy bed and opened his system screen.

"Guess all that training payed off. I now have the average stats of a grown office worker back on earth."

[Just don't wreck yourself, you training freak.]

He dismissed the status screen with a casual wave and activated all three of his skills.

[Empathy]

[Hacker's Eye]

[Aura of Chaos]

His perceptive range increased dramatically as he honed in on his target.

His vision ignored the walls between as he locked on a particular room where a certain individual sat cross-legged in a mana chamber. His mother was vigorously absorbing the abundant mana in the room as she seemed to constantly expel dark particles which pulsed faintly with an ominous aura.

"Mom seems busy right now."

Ignoring the dense mana field around her, [Empathy] locked unto the very essence of her being. The soul.

Neo got to work. He tapped into her essence as it unravelled into a stream of code. Her emotions, memories, everything about her existence to the tiniest detail was laid bare for him, the information was immensely overwhelming like a flood whose every drop of water continuously changed it's composition several times per second endlessly, no mortal or machine should have been able to comprehend this level of knowledge without bleeding to death through their brains, it was just that much. Yet here was a child, barely even six year old doing the unthinkable.

Fortunately, due to the added intelligence stats granted by his connection with Celeste and [Absolute Mental Mastery] being in effect, he only felt a faint strain. He rapidly began copying one of his mother's basic skill [Mana blade] while simultaneously refining and evolving the skill on his own to create an entirely new skill [Soul Strike] to run on Soul force since he couldn't use mana properly yet.

He exhaled heavily as a bead of sweat trailed down his face, the strain mounting like a heavy stone pressing on his being.

After a full hour of continuous deciding and recoding of the skill, a shining gold screen appeared before his eyes.

[Congratulations to Neo Castreed for gaining the skill: Soul Strike]

[Skill: Soul Strike (A-tier)]

[User summons an invisible blade of soul energy which is capable of causing damage to enemy's soul.]

A faint mist escaped his mouth as he exhaled deeply. Soul Strike was an A-tier attack skill, just as basic as it was lethal, one shot to the core and even Savant rank experts will be left crippled, if not dead.

"Now I'm ready."

In two weeks, I will undergo my awakening. A slow smile crept up Neo's lips.

"This is going to be interesting."
