Chapter 11 - The third angle

That night, after Alex dropped Luna home, both were lost in thoughts of each other. Alex drove with a small smile, replaying Luna's laughter and the way her eyes sparkled. Luna, meanwhile, lay on her bed, hugging her pillow, remembering Alex's blush, his voice, his presence.

They had fallen in love—but both were still denying it.

Then fate knocked—literally.

As Luna was about to change into a comfy dress, the doorbell rang. She opened the door and saw a delivery boy holding her parcel. But behind him, leaning casually on a bike, stood Nick.

Nick, the charming rich heir from Thailand—the same one she had once met at the bar. His sharp eyes lit up with recognition.

"Wait… you!" Nick stepped forward, smirking. "You're the bar girl, right?"

Luna blinked, startled, then remembered. "Oh… you. I… I didn't mean that night seriously." She gave a nervous laugh.

Nick chuckled. "Relax. I didn't take it seriously either. But hey, fate has a funny way of making us meet again, huh?"

Their short banter ended with an unexpected twist—Nick asked for her number. Hesitant at first, Luna eventually gave it. Before leaving, she politely invited him in for juice, but Nick smiled and shook his head. "Next time, maybe. Tonight, the stars already gave me enough luck." He winked before leaving.

Luna shut the door, her mind conflicted.

The next day at university, Luna stepped outside and once again found Alex waiting—this time in a crisp white shirt, looking effortlessly handsome.

"Why do you keep picking me up again and again?" she teased, though her smile betrayed her happiness.

Alex grinned. "Because I have something for you. Thanks for agreeing to come to the party with me."

He handed her a neatly wrapped box. Inside was a white dress—elegant, graceful—and a delicate pendant.

Luna's eyes widened. "Alex… this is too much. You didn't have to—"

"Don't say no." His voice softened. "I wanted you to have it. You deserve the best."

Her cheeks warmed. For a second, Alex leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. Luna froze, stunned, but then smiled shyly.

"Fine… thank you. But don't make it a habit," she said, half-scolding, half-blushing.

Alex only smiled, dropping her home. Both lingered, not wanting to part, but eventually, they had to.

That night, Luna tried on the dress, pendant, and heels. She stood before the mirror, styling her hair, whispering to herself: How will I look at the party? Will Alex… like it?

She looked breathtaking. For the first time, she clicked a picture and posted it. Within minutes, Alex liked it and commented: Trying it before the party? Nice.

That simple message turned into hours of late-night texting. Both laughed, teased, and shared thoughts until sleep finally claimed them.

Meanwhile, Nick made his move. He called Luna casually.

"Hey, I need your help. My friend wants admission in your university… law faculty, right? Since you're vice president, maybe you could guide him?"

Reluctantly, Luna agreed. The next day, she visited Nick's place, where he introduced his friend. They discussed all the requirements and procedures.

Nick, however, wasn't paying attention to the admission talk. His eyes kept drifting to Luna. The way she explained things, the way her hair fell loose from her bun—it was pulling him in. At first, she had been just "the bar girl." Now, she was becoming something more to him.

But Luna didn't notice. Her heart and mind were still caught between denial and the memory of Alex.

By evening, Nick dropped her home. She immediately tried Alex's gift again, admiring herself in the mirror. Somewhere deep down, she knew… she wanted Alex's eyes to see her like this.
