Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: The Black-Eyed Youth in the Cage

Chapter 21: The Black-Eyed Youth in the Cage

Entering the auction hall, there was no sense of grandeur or splendor; the surrounding decor was instead simple and elegant.

The floor was clad in a sleek, green jade, and the surrounding walls were covered in a variety of relief carvings, creating a unique charm.

Li Tianyi, following behind Ning Fengzhi, was captivated by the various weapons and porcelain vases displayed in the cabinets on either side of the aisle.

Even though he hadn't seen many treasures, he could tell the items in these cabinets were crafted by renowned masters. He couldn't help but marvel that the title of "the world's wealthiest sect" was indeed well-deserved.

After a few steps, two more aisles appeared ahead, each labeled "ordinary" and "VIP."

Ning Fengzhi, who was standing in front, suddenly stopped, and Li Tianyi looked at him curiously.

Ning Fengzhi shook his head and clapped his hands. As the clapping began, cracks suddenly appeared around the floor where Li Tianyi and Ning Fengzhi stood, carrying them upwards.

Such advanced development? A sense of familiarity flashed across Li Tianyi's eyes.

Ning Fengzhi looked at Li Tianyi proudly and said, "What do you think, Xiaotian? This lifting system is only available in our Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect on the entire continent."

He was destined to be disappointed. Li Tianyi's face did not show the expression he wanted to see.

Li Tianyi instinctively touched his nose. Haha, showing off this thing to me, an Earthling?

Sorry, I've had enough of it.

After about a few seconds, the platform stopped, and two rows of uniformed girls with sexy figures appeared in front of Li Tianyi. Unlike the four girls at the door, this place was obviously of a higher class.

The two rows of uniformed girls saw the two men coming out and bowed, "Hello, Sect Master, Hello, Senior Brother!"

Huh? ? ? The intelligence system is so advanced? The people at the door didn't recognize me, so you know everything by now.

Ning Fengzhi seemed to sense Li Tianyi's confusion and smiled gently, "Our Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect has its own intelligence system, so communication is very fast."

"Oh?"

Ning Fengzhi said as they walked. "Every year, our sect selects a group of children with special spirits and trains them. Eventually, they all become expert intelligence gatherers."

"For example?" Li Tianyi's question was concise and natural, showing no sign of panic due to Ning Fengzhi's status as Sect Master.

"For example, the two people who just communicated upstairs and downstairs. The spirits they awakened at age six were neither weapon spirits nor beast spirits."

"Native spirits!" Li Tianyi's reading in his previous life instantly bolstered his knowledge, and the term immediately came to mind.

Ning Fengzhi waited for a long time, but in vain, when Tianyi continued to question him, he sighed inwardly: this kid is not only a monster in terms of strength, but also in his character and patience.

"Ahem, aren't you curious?"

Li Tianyi raised his head naturally. "If you want to tell me, just tell me. If you don't, there's no point asking."

Ning Fengzhi's calm expression twitched slightly. He felt that Li Tianyi's words were indeed perfectly sound, but there seemed to be a hidden meaning.

He no longer maintained the suspense and said, "The person downstairs awakened a mouth as their martial spirit, and the person upstairs awakened a pair of ears. They're not good at combat support, but they're excellent at transmitting information."

Sure enough, they were their true martial spirits!

Li Tianyi instantly confirmed his suspicions, then felt a little regretful. If only he could get a chance to see a true martial spirit like skin or spiritual eyes.

Seeing Li Tianyi's expression still stoic and impassive, Ning Fengzhi nodded silently, his respect for him increasing a little.

Entering the room, he was greeted by two large, beautifully designed sofas and a round table filled with plates of juicy fruit.

Li Tianyi glanced down from the window and discovered he was the only one on the upper floor; the rest of the auctioneers were seated downstairs.

The auction hall felt more like a large auditorium. Aside from the central auction platform, the surrounding seating areas were divided into five zones: red, black, purple, yellow, and white. The red seats were the fewest, while the white seats were the most.

As Li Tianyi observed curiously, a middle-aged man with a small mustache stepped onto the stage.

He glanced obscurely at Li Tianyi through a megaphone, then smiled at the bidders and said, "Tonight's auction officially begins!"

"I'm sure everyone's impatient. So, I won't say any more. The first item to go up today is a treasure!"

He gestured to the audience, and four sturdy men emerged carrying a square cage shrouded in red cloth.

From within the cage came the occasional wild-animal roar. Everyone stared intently, wondering what treasure would soon emerge.

Hearing the roar, Li Tianyi didn't take it seriously, thinking it was just some wild beast. However, Ning Fengzhi's face began to become gloomy, as if he was accumulating some anger.

The host lifted the red cloth and saw a man in the cage with chains all over his body and black eyes without the whites of his eyes. He looked like he was dying, but he was still roaring "woohoo".

"Master, are you still selling slaves here?" Li Tianyi asked, staring curiously at the unusual pure black eyes of the man in the cage.

"Huh?" When he didn't hear a response, Li Tian turned his head and found that Ning Fengzhi's face was very ugly. He was staring down with his fists clenched, as if he was suppressing some anger.

The host pointed at the boy in the cage and said with a smile: "This is a good thing. Our people caught him in the wild!"

"Tsk, what a bummer! I thought it was some kind of treasure!" a bidder in the audience complained. "It's just a slave, what's so interesting about it? Who doesn't have a few slaves at home?"

A mysterious look flashed across the host's face. "This one's nothing like your slaves. What do you think he was doing when we caught him?"

"Like a complete beast, devouring raw meat bite by bite!"

"Of course! That's not the point. The most important thing is that this thing showed no signs of unleashing its spirit, yet it defeated several of our second-ringed Great Spirit Masters."

The host's words sent the audience into a frenzy.

"You're saying this beast-like creature can defeat a second-ringed Great Spirit Master without even unleashing its spirit?"

"How is that possible? You're not kidding us!"

The host shook his head and said solemnly, "Our Seven Treasures Auction House may not be as impressive as the two great empire auction houses, but its reputation is truly trustworthy."

The bidders in the audience immediately cast a fiery gaze at the caged man.

The host coughed and said, "One thing to remind you: we just captured this guy not long ago. We've discovered he can't speak human language at all, only humming like a wild beast. So, you'll have to tame him yourself after you buy him."

"That's no big deal. I have plenty of ways!" A bidder couldn't help but rub his hands, looking at the cage with envy.

The host waved his hand, "Then let's start the bidding now..."

"Wait!" an angry voice suddenly interrupted.
