Chapter 9 - Red King Draker

Selim lessen the grip on his sword, "Lazy sword, 3rd form: winding river."

His sword moved in a winding motion, the force getting stronger with each wind. It hit and actually cut Teraak's shoulder. Magma oozed out from the wound as it healed almost immediately. Teraak looked at him with a wide estatic grin, " Good, very good! You have to do this much to surpass him!"

He lunged at Selim, Fists blazing. Each punch was heavy as a boulder and fast as a firey comet. Selim defended and attacked with a sword form. 6th form: Sunflower thrust. He stabbed at Teraak so fast and multiple times that the sword path looked like sunflower petals. Teraak evaded most of the thursts and blocked some but two of the thursts hit, one to the gut and one to the thigh. Teraak formed a plethora of magma orbs behind and Selim formed a plethora of water balls behind him. The fight continued.

Teraak's speed increased again and vanished from sight. He sent a magma orb at Selim's side, following right behind it. Selim countered with two water balls, turning them into ice on impact with orb. Teraak burst through it and threw a punch. Selim defended with his sword but the blow was heavy. The impact sent Selim crashing into a tree, the sickening crunch of wood and bone echoed throughout the barrier.

THUD

Sylvia's eyes fluttered open. She saw a shield, then dirt and she panicked, thinking she had been buried. She banged on the shield in front of her for a while, calling for Selim. After a few moments, she calmed down and placed her hand on the shield. She felt mana running through it, this was no ordinary shield. The intricate way mana was woven to make the shield was unlike anything he had ever seen. "Who made this?" She asked herself, accessing the mana structure for a weakness. She found one, though it was small and would be easily skipped by many mages. She placed her hand on the spot, channeling her mana. She cast {fire ball}. The spot reddened and she yelled, "Burst!".

The shield, earth cover and second shield blew up, releasing her. She stood up, coughing, dust and smoke covering her view. The dust settled and she saw what appeared to be two streaks of light fighting each other. One of the light crashed into the ground, just beside her, creating a crater and kicking up dust. She squinted and saw a silhouette of a person rising from the crater. The dust cleared a little and she saw the person behind the silhouette— Selim. But this was a Selim she had never seen before. His languid posture replaced with a cioled battle ready pose, his eyes usually heavy with sleep now sharp, alert and calculating. Ice shards and fire balls formed behind him in an instant and without sparing her a glance, he lunged towards the other light.

"Is that really the frail boy I met few hours ago?" She muttered as she watched the fight. Selim's attack were getting more synchronized. His spell casting and sword form made him a formidable opponent for Teraak. The concursive blast from each clash shook the trees and rearranged the terrain.

"Hahahaha" Teraak laughed. "You are even more powerful than you led on. Kyle must be smiling in his grave for having a descendant like you."

Teraak threw a high side kick, aiming for Selim's head. Selim stopped it with his sword arm and the free one conjured up an ice sword which he thrusted at Teraak. Teraak jumped back, putting some space between them. He had barely touched the ground when Selim closed the distance, "Lazy Sword, 1st Form: Falling Star."

With both swords, covered with aura, he swung down in a vertical arc with the strength and speed akin to a Falling Star. His strikes connected, cutting Teraak from the shoulder down to his torso, causing him to stumble back bleeding. Selim continued," 2nd form: Water wheel."

He spun ultra fast in a wheel like motion with both swords. Teraak crossed his arms and blocked the sword attack, each strike sent sparks, ice and magma flying. Teraak pushed Selim back, sending him into the air. Selim cast {Ice wall} and used it as a launch pad. He launched himself at Teraak, lessening his grip on both swords,"3rd form: Winding River."

Selim swung in a spiraling motion, each turn gathering momentum. He cast{Wind cyclone} mid form, which made the spiral faster, gathering even greater momentum. Both swords hit Teraak with the force of two falling boulders at high speed. Teraak stumbled to the middle of the battlefield. Selim slammed his hands on the ground and yelled, "{Bind}!"

Chains shot out from the ground and latched onto Teraak, dragging him to his knees. Selim stared at him, crouched and panting heavily. His muscles ached and tensed up. Even a genius can't beat fatigue. The wyvern riders arrived at the dome-like barrier and began to attack it. Whilst the wyverns attacked with wind magic, their riders attacked with their sword aura. The barrier shook and rumbled but that was all. Inside the barrier, Sylvia had ran away from the battlefield to the barrier wall. She placed her hands on it an poured mana into it, trying to find a weak spot.

Teraak threw his head back in laughter, "Nice. Very Nice! Young Leoch, you are worthy of Kyle's treasure. But you are not ready for it."

He stood up forcing the chains. With ease, he broke out, pulling his limbs out of the chains. He shook his body, cracking and resetting the bones in his body. Selim stood up, weary bodied but his eyes held an intense determination. Selim's aura flared, coating his body and sword, ready for a fight. The spell {Processor} which he had cast went into overdrive, heightening his cerebral capacity.

"Hoho, you're still up for a fight? But I know that's your limit."

Outside the barrier, Maxim arrived with his soldiers and they were met by Rodrik and Bech. Maxim quickly alighted his horse and ran towards them.

"Is Selim ok?" He asked, his voice carried the worry of a parent.

"We have no clue Lord. The barrier is opaque and impenetrable," Rodrik answered solemnly.

"Nothing is Impenetrable for a Leoch." Maxim said, moving close to the barrier. "Aura Domain: Guardian Knight's Base."

Maxim's aura flooded the entire area, including the barrier. Behind him, a massive base formed, composed entirely of his aura. His body was covered with an aura amour and his sword was turned into a massive aura blade. With his Aura field, he could sense the presence of all beings in the field. He looked inside the barrier and there were three energy signatures. A quite sigh escaped his lips as a soft smile showed. "Selim is still alive" he thought. Maxim dropped into his sword stance,"Leoch Heavy Sword: Mountain Splitter."

The aura blade in his hand expanded into a huge broad sword. Following the vertical arc Maxim swung, it came down like a falling star. Inside the barrier, Selim stared down Teraak, waiting for a first move.

"I commend your strength and determination," Teraak said with an approving smile. "You are a Leoch through and through. But I have grown tired of our little game."

The air stilled, filled with draconic aura. The ground cracked in a web like pattern, radiating from Teraak. One of the lines stopping just in front of Selim. The pressure released from just his aura, forced Selim to a knee and rendered Sylvia who was at the barrier's end immobile, shaking in fear. Selim forced himself up, straining and grunting. He tried to move but coughed out blood after taking a step. A stream of blood leaked out from his nose. Noticed by Teraak, he said, "Give up little Leoch, even now, your body fails you."

Selim dispersed his aura and deactivated all the buffs he had cast on himself. After taking that action, fatigue came upon his as though an anvil with ropes was thrown over him.Selim stood but it seemed as though he was dead—head bowed, blood dripping from his nose and mouth. Teraak was about to speak when he caught sight of Selim's lips, they parted in a devilish smirk. Teraak immediately lunged at him. Selim raised his head, his smirk metamorphosed into a grin. He used his left thumb to make a line of blood on his right palm. He clapsed both hands and yelled, "{Eight triagram seal: BIND}!"

From eight specific places around the battlefield, bloodied chains shot out and latched themselves onto Teraak. Iron casts materialized around his limbs— elbow down for his arms and knee down for his legs. A heavy chest plate cast appeared on his body, followed by an aura bind that wrapped around him and finally an iron maiden closed it off. With the seal complete, Selim fell on his butt, breathing heavily, exhaustion completely taking over.

Inside the seal, Teraak was quiet for a moment. Then a low chuckle eminated from within the iron maiden. The chuckle grew into a full laugh, rattling the chains on him. "Even Kyle didn't think of something like this. Amazing! But... Not even this can hold me, Selim."

The iron maiden warped, expanding and reddening. Not long after, the maiden exploded outwards, revealing Teraak and the molten remains of the casts, chest plate and chains. Selim's eye widened in disbelief. The Eight Triagram Seal is one of the strongest sealing spells in all of Casting history and this creature just broke out of it like it was nothing. Teraak then spoke, "Selim Leoch, you are now dragon bound," tossing him one of his scales.

The barrier rumbled then split open. Maxim's sword slammed into the ground between Selim and Teraak. "So there was a Leoch with such level of strength huh?" Teraak thought. He appeared before a shook Sylvia and said, "You just witnessed the true power of the Leoch. You have seen what true strength looks like and how powerless you are in front of it. My advice to you young lady is devote yourself to strength, only then can you stand beside him."

With those words, he vanished. Maxim deactivated his domain and ran to his son who was on the ground.

He knelt down beside Selim, cradled his head close to his body.

"Are you ok Selim?" Maxim asked, his voice ruled by fatherly concern.

Selim coughed up a bit of blood then replied, "I'll live. After this, I want to take a long nap."

"Yes you will."

Somewhere in the continent of Desper, laid the Kingdom of Rouge. A man clad in red military uniform with black seams and gold lines elegantly placed on the shoulder pads. The uniform held a one shoulder cape, red with a lion's head etched on it with gold embroidery. He was led by a down a long staircase, into the dungeon area. There, one of the cells had been converted into a medical ward. On the operating table was the archer.

"Daemon, what happened?" The man asked.

"I...I apologize Lord Draker," Daemon said with great difficulty. "Shadowless was present at the scene."

A knowing smirk bloomed on the man's face, "And the egg?" He asked.

"I managed to plant it without notice," Daemon answered, panting.

The man walked closer to Daemon on the table and in a swift motion jammed a dagger into his throat. He gurgled, choking on his own blood. The medical mage stepped back in shock but was met by the guard's sword.

Draker removed his gloves and dropped it on Daemon's body. As he turned to leave, he commands, "Dispose of the bodies."

The guard give a bow as Draker headed up the stairs. As he ascended, he thought, "If Shadowless is in Leoch then that egg might have already been discovered." He smiled fiendishly, "It seems destroying Leoch is going to be more interesting than I had originally thought."

At the top of the stairs, he whispered, cheeks flushed with an ecstatic smile, "This will be fun."
