Chapter 417 - Chapter 417: Revelation

The Rinnegan!

When he was very young, Anya had once entertained the idea of obtaining it. However, as he learned more about this world, that desire had long faded. Fundamentally, the Rinnegan wasn't something good. While possessing it did grant immense power, it brought far more burdens than benefits.

According to his and Tobirama's speculation, the emergence of the Rinnegan wasn't simple at all. From a bloodline perspective, Hakuto was the product of both the Senju and Uchiha clans, giving her a chance—though extremely slim—to awaken the Rinnegan. The probability was so infinitesimal that it bordered on impossible. The only plausible explanation was that someone had intervened.

Thinking of this made Anya burn with anxiety. Someone had meddled with his own daughter, yet he hadn't noticed a thing.

Anya took Hakuto and left without uttering a word. His eyes had already transformed into the Mangekyō, and actual killing intent surged outward without restraint. It was the first time Hakuto had ever seen such a terrifying version of Anya, and she shrank into his chest, too frightened to make a sound.

After arriving at an open space, Anya pulled out a token he'd previously obtained from Ryuchi Cave. Activating it through Sage Arts, an invisible Spatial Force enveloped them both before they vanished from the spot entirely.

Inside the Hokage's office, Tsunade and Jiraiya remained visibly baffled.

After a long while, Tsunade finally voiced her thoughts: "My daughter… why does she have the Rinnegan?"

Jiraiya speculated, "As the legend goes, it was the eye possessed by the Sage of Six Paths. Both the Senju and Uchiha Clans are descendants of the Six Paths Sage. Perhaps Hakuto's bloodline underwent some kind of atavism. At one point, one of my students also awakened the Rinnegan. He was also a descendant of the Six Paths Sage, hailing from the Uzumaki Clan."

"Is that really the case?" Tsunade calmed slightly but then shook her head in doubt. "No, if this were natural awakening, Anya wouldn't be so panicked. There must be something wrong."

Prompted by her words, Jiraiya fell into deep thought as well. Yet now both father and daughter had vanished, leaving no way for them to investigate further. In fact, judging from Anya's recent behavior, their relationship was on the verge of breaking apart.

"Sigh." Jiraiya sighed involuntarily. "I shouldn't have shown up. If you and Anya had spoken alone, maybe things wouldn't have gotten this bad. Tsunade, not to mention it—I've got to say, the older you get, the more you act just like the hot-headed girl I used to know."

Regret appeared on Tsunade's face, though when she thought again about how her man was mixed up with those terrorists, anger instantly surged to her head, completely uncontrollable.

"I'll be leaving Konoha," Jiraiya advised. "With Hakuto gone, sending just Naruto and Sakura after Sasuke would be too dangerous. Next time you see Anya, remember to soften your tone a little. No man resists a gentle woman. Well, I'm off."

With that, Jiraiya waved goodbye, leapt out the window, and went after Naruto.

Recalling their earlier words, Tsunade sighed quietly to herself, "If we had left Konoha together after the Third Battle, perhaps none of these troubles would exist today."

In Ryuchi Cave, several Hebihime who had been idly lounging suddenly sensed ripples of Spatial Force. They drifted out and quickly spotted Anya cradling Hakuto in her arms.

"Huh? Is this the guardian of Ryuchi Cave? After all these years, she's finally appeared."

It seemed that White Snake Sage had already informed them about Anya's identity.

Among them, Lady Tamami stepped forward and said, "You think we're just gonna let this woman learn the Ryuchi Cave Sage Art? Even if you brought her, she's gotta pass our three trials first."

Anya's eyes flashed. Her crimson Sharingan merely swept across them, and instantly waves of panic surged through the snake priestesses' hearts. A suffocating sensation gripped them, leaving them too frightened to utter another word.

At that moment, White Snake Sage's voice arrived just in time: "Since you've come, just proceed directly."

With a swirl of her figure, when she reappeared, White Snake Sage had already transformed back into its true form facing the two of them. Its gaze immediately fixed on Hakuto, unable to help but exclaim with surprise and doubt: "Huh? The power within this child..."

Anya's expression remained calm as she spoke: "You once told me that chakra originally didn't exist in this world."

White Snake Sage replied, "Indeed. Chakra is an external energy source in this world. However, it wasn't created from nothing—it originated from the God Tree drawing natural energy from our world. Later, the Sage of Six Paths distributed seeds of chakra to humanity, teaching them methods to refine and utilize chakra. Thus was born the Ninja Sect."

Anya was already generally familiar with this information. She then said, "So ultimately, the origins of the Ninja World lie in the hands of the Sage of Six Paths. That's precisely why I've come today."

"Hmm?" White Snake Sage suddenly realized something.

"Exactly," Anya stated firmly. "How can I meet him? As the originator of ninja arts, his chakra must not have vanished completely. Perhaps it has continued lingering somewhere within the Ninja World. Now, I must find him."

Curious, White Snake Sage asked, "Why are you so determined to see him?"

"Because my daughter possesses the Rinnegan exactly like the Sage of Six Paths."

"I see. No wonder I felt an unusual power radiating from her." After some contemplation, White Snake Sage mused, "I'm not entirely sure how you might meet him either. Perhaps, the answer lies within your daughter's Rinnegan."

Anya nodded and requested, "Give me a quiet location where no one will disturb us."

"Fine, don't worry about anything."

Saying this, White Snake Sage exhaled a stream of sage wind, wrapping both figures in mist as they traveled toward a secluded area.

Its snake-like pupils glimmering faintly, White Snake Sage suddenly had an idea. A nearly human smile crept onto its face as it murmured to itself, "Hehe, quite interesting indeed."

Anya gently placed Hakuto on the ground, helping her sit cross-legged before beginning to inscribe various runes around her body. Soon, a formation was successfully laid out.

"Dad, what exactly is happening?" Hakuto, who had been quiet all this time, finally spoke up in confusion.

Anyā paused briefly before speaking again. "The Rinnegan places a great burden on the body. It defies life and death and has incredible power, but such strength always comes at a cost. I don't know why your Rinnegan has appeared, but I swear nothing will happen to you. Believe me, Hakuto. Just relax."

Hakuto nodded forcefully and said, "Okay, Dad."

A warm smile spread across Anyā's face as he patted Hakuto's head. "You're safe. I'll make sure nothing happens to you."

After saying this, Anyā formed hand seals with both hands and pressed them onto the source of the formation. The freshly drawn runes flared brilliantly, and beams of light shot toward Hakuto, converging rapidly around her eyes.

Affected by the runes, Hakuto's black pupils automatically activated into Three-Comma Sharingan. As the power of the runes intensified, the commas began spinning rapidly, her irises turning purple, revealing the markings of the Rinnegan.
