Chapter 47 - Chapter 46: Rest For A Bit

I was just staring blankly at the ceiling. The concrete walls are dirty and full of spider webs, while the roof looks like it's about to collapse at any second. What a wonderful hideout. Despite its amazing appearance, it's very well hidden. The building was hiding behind a waterfall, and we were cloaked by an experimental technology that makes us not 100% invisible but camouflaged to look like a large rock rather than a building.

I was lying down on a beaten couch, looking up at the ceiling while Gavin was in the room tapping away on the PC. My eyes trailed on the table where stacks of chocolate bars and candy were placed along with a repaired SEE Goggles. Looking at the device reminded me of what happened just three hours prior. The death of Atlas still disturbed me, but what really bothered me was the conversation I had with Arc.

I clench my fist, feeling helpless. I felt like I lost, despite no punches being thrown. I told Gavin the gist of our conversation and left me alone to clear my head. Gavin, right now, is trying to find the location of the other bases. He contacted Jason for help, but he says the Russian Monarch is being extremely stubborn. I'm hoping he will find something soon.

I want-no need to punch something. I need to forget about my conversation with Arc. Then I shot up to a sitting position as I sensed a flying vehicle hovering in front of the waterfall before entering it. Gavin and I looked at each other. Gavin looked ready to fight. But too bad for him, he wouldn't get the chance.

At super-speed, I grabbed my SEE Goggles and put them on. And stepped outside of the hideout, facing the flying object, which turned out to be a jet. A giant one, and it looked like it came from the future. Sure, all of the tech I've seen so far has been really advanced and futuristic. But this piece of equipment looks incredibly sexy.

If regular military jets are your basic family cars you've seen out on the road, then this jet would be a car's version of Bugatti.

"Dear lord above, it's gorgeous," I said.

"Oh my god, I'm in love…" Gavin said behind me.

The jet landed, it was black with red outlines and had a red window. The cockpit opened, and I readied my hands for a fight. Sexy jet or not, I'm still going to knock some bad guy's teeth in. Instead, what came out was a mechanical cylinder object with a red eye.

"Jason, what are you doing here?" Gavin questions as the weird drone floated to him.

"Jason?" I said, in a confused tone.

"Yeah, it's me. This is my drone. I'm still back in Canada. I just got off the meeting, and I've told them about you being here. Don't worry, I made up a story of me getting in contact with Ben, from staging a criminal car chase that didn't make it to the News."

Gavin slowly nods. "I see, but why are you here?"

"I wanted to help, my discussion with the Monarchs didn't go over so well, they didn't appreciate me discussing top secret information to what they think is an 'Alien Invader'. Though they agreed that you are the only one who can stop Arc. The problem is that damned Russian Monarch who still refuses to share the location. So I came here to help, while also bringing this bad boy."

Jason's drone roamed around the sleek black and red jet. Gavin slowly walked forward and let out a moan when touching it. I looked at him weirdly. Freaking weirdo.

"This is the Thunderclap. The first and last of its kind. The fastest flying weapon on the planet, it's even faster than actual lightning and outfitted with all sorts of weapons. It might be as powerful as a SURVIVIVOR but it's got its unique traits."

"Awesome…" While I wasn't losing it, like Gavin, who looked like he was about to pass out, it was definitely an epic machine that would have been useful if I weren't here.

"Too bad, you won't be able to use it, Gavin, since I'm here," I smirked at the old man, who flinched, his eyes became watery, and he hugged the jet.

"Nooo…" He weeps.

Jason snorts. "It might be useful, who knows what could happen. Anyways, I found the location of one of the bases."

I blinked, looking at him in amazement. "You did?"

Despite Jason's drone having no mouth, I felt like it would have smirked if it were able to.

"I hacked it when I was having a meeting with the Monarchs. It was tough, but when you're the world's greatest hacker, it's not impossible for me."

"Wouldn't the Russian Monarch get mad?" Asked Gavin, who recovered from his depression.

"I hope to God and Jesus that he's mad."

Oh, okay.

"I-I see, so the bases?"

"Right, I'll give you the coordinates to the location of your SEE Goggles."

"Neat!" I immediately dashed inside the hideout and stuffed chocolate bars and candy in my belt before running back.

"I'm off!"

"Whoa, wait a sec-" Gavin starts to say, but I didn't bother waiting, instead flying past the waterfall and flying high to the sky.

I stopped, waiting for my SEE Goggles to give the information. I didn't have to wait long, as it showed me where the base is. I was about to zoom in there if it weren't for Gavin telling me to slow down.

"Would you relax? What got you so worked up?"

"I have to kick some NWO butt, duh."

"You seem more distracted and eager than usual. I know what happened with Arc. Don't let that distract from your mission. Focus."

"What about Arc?" Jason's voice called out.

"It's nothing. I just want to bust some heads. That's all."

I specifically want to bust Arc's head in. There is a chance he's there. I wanted to sock that self-righteous evil douchebag. I wanted to prove him wrong immediately. Gavin and Jason were quiet for several moments before Gavin spoke.

"Just try not to get too hotheaded."

I smirk. No promises. With that, I darted forward, the distance from the second base and I were decreasing. Arc, I swear I'm going to take you down.
