Chapter 60 - Chapter 59: Man’s Ultimate Weapon VS The Crimson Angel

It's been nearly an hour since this fight started. Or at least I think it's an hour; time moves fast when you have a giant robot trying to kill you.

"RAHHH!" I roared as we traded fists.

My small arms vs the SV4's massive four arms. Our fists collided, creating shockwaves as we unleashed a barrage of punches at one another. I was doing well, considering that despite its massive size, the SV4 was freaking fast, not to mention having two other limbs more than I did. I managed to damage it quite a bit. The machine had scratches and dents all over its form, and one of its eyes stopped glowing.

Like I said, not much meaningful damage. Not to mention, I was running out of food, at best, just a few more candy bars in my utility belt. The exchange of fists isn't going anywhere; I'm just wasting my CE. And so I moved away from its hand and flew downwards before shooting straight up, hitting its chin, which launched off the ground for a second, allowing me to launch a barrage of fists at the chest area where the core is. However, my small win didn't last long, as I was electrified, forcing me back.

The machine regains its balance.

"I'm impressed you managed to last this long. You truly are the greatest threat to my plan." Arc said within the SURVIVOR.

I stayed silent, wiping the blood on my nose. I started to see double, and I started to feel light-headed. I shake myself furiously, no, I'm not going out like a bum. I raised my fist, ready to deliver more pain. The forcefield came back again. I was about to rush forward to break it for the sixth time, but Arc's voice made me stop.

"But you're damaging the weapon too much. I have to put an end to it quickly." Then, as he finishes his sentence, several disk-shaped objects as large as a jet popped out of the SV4's back.

They floated in the air before one shot a red laser at my chest, causing me to fly back and yelp. The blue disks chased me down, shooting at me. I flew around evading the red beams; meanwhile, the SV4 was trying to take me out with its own white beams. I grit my teeth, vibrating my body to make it so I vanish. I was about to launch a counterattack, but I dodged another laser again, barely evading this time.

They could see me!?

"It's pointless, while you may vibrate fast enough to feel the naked eye, we could still detect your heat signature and the A.I want to predict where you are!" Arc explains, still trying to shoot me.

Fine, it's not like that's the only thing I could do. I lifted both my hands while flying back before swiping down, creating invisible air blades.

"Cleave Breaker!"

I managed to cut two before they scattered away. I then immediately stopped flying back and chased one disk before grabbing it and spinning around before letting it go. It spun like a shuriken as it collided with the red forcefield. I grit my teeth as I forced my body to go even faster, grabbing discs that were flying away and throwing them back at the SV4, until eventually there weren't any more discs left. The SV4's red barrier held up, though incredibly damaged and on the verge of shattering.

I would have changed, if it weren't for the fact that I was tired. I was breathing heavily, and my muscles felt like they were on fire. And my heart raced incredibly fast, but unfortunately, the SV4 was a machine, and they didn't get tired. And then even more discs popped out, there is got to be thirty, possibly even more. I bit my lip, and my confidence wavered.

But I'm not going to give up that easily. I moved forward, but my Mind's Eye caught something fast flying around. It whooshed at my side, it was a jet, and it wasn't just any jet, it was the one Jason flew here. At first thought I thought it was Jason, pulling up to assist me. The Thunderclap jet fired a multitude of mini missiles at the drones, destroying a good amount of them before soaring away, dodging the red beams from the drone disks. I watched as the jet dodged the beams swiftly.

I could feel the silhouette from the pilot's cockpit. The silhouette is too big and muscular to be Jason.

"Gavin…" I whispered.

What the heck is he doing here!? Isn't he still hurt!? It wasn't just Gavin throwing me for a loop, as someone was riding on top of the jet and, despite how fast it was going, was clinging to the jet very easily. They let go, which resulted in them falling. I moved to save them, only for the figure to fly up without using technology. They outstretched their hand, and suddenly, multiple drones stopped moving in the air before they were suddenly flung to the SV4's forcefield, breaking it.

"No…"

I squinted as I saw familiar baggy clothing, though this time she was wearing a black visor version of the SEE Goggles. She flew to me and, with a monotone voice, I usually hear from her, she says:

"Sup," said Emily Shinichi.

"Emily, what are you doing here!?"

Before she could respond, we both had to dodge a white laser from the SV4. The Thunderclap piloted by Gavin launched several missiles at its head. It tries to bat it away, but the flying machine is way too fast and nimble to be hit. Emily lifted several pieces of rocks and drones before flinging them at the SV4, who had to raise its hand to block the barrage.

"Get out of here, you're going to get hurt!" I screamed as I flew behind her.

"Oh, shut up, you clearly need our help. Stop being stubborn and let us help you!"

She had to use her blue force field to block a laser beam from a drone. I roared as I broke it in one punch. Emily quickly acted, using the broken pieces to attack another drone.

"Look, this is dangerous-"

"I know it is!" I backed up as she got close to me.

"You risked your life for me, it's time for me to return the favour, and even if I don't owe you anything, I would still because you're my friend. My powers are made for this, so quit whining because I'm not running away and leaving you."

She pulled something out from her ratty coat and tossed it at me, which I caught easily. It's a SEE Goggle with a red visor. I looked at her, and she gave me a nod before flying away, assisting Gavin in destroying the drones or damaging the SURVIVOR. I clench my fists. I hate the fact that she's right. I can't do this on my own, and now two people I care about are fighting with me in this fight. I hated the fact that they had put themselves in danger because I wasn't strong enough to beat the SURVIVOR outright. But I can't complain right now.

If I don't want them to get in danger, I'll just beat the machine quickly. I put on my SEE Goggle. My vision went red as complicated numbers and coordinates, and other stuff, scanned the large machine. I dived forward, hitting the SV4 straight to the face, while it was distracted by Gavin and Emily. It stumbled back, and before it could regain its balance, I dropped at the center of its chest, where one of the cores is. I pulled back both fists, and my visor opened to reveal my glowing red eyes.

"Shotgun Breaker!"

My two fists and optic blasts collided with its chest. The blow was powerful enough to make it stumble even further before landing hard on its back. We backed away and regrouped, floating in the sky while staring daggers at the machine that was slowly getting up.

"I can't believe you got her involved. My eyes shifted briefly to the stationary jet."

"Come on, Ben, we need all the help we can get."

"I chose to be here." Added Emily.

I rolled my eyes, but I felt a certain warmth knowing the two had my back. No point in worrying over them; we need to focus on dealing with the threat.

"It's durable, even after hitting for an hour at best; I only did surface damage."

Gavin clicked his tongue. "Then it's even more durable than we thought."

We watched with sweat on our faces as the machine fully got back up. Having been damaged, but overall still looks good enough to wipe out the entire world's army. The only good thing in our favour is that all of the disk drones have been destroyed. All four limbs pointed at us, palms open to reveal four white beams coming towards us, forcing us to evade.

"What's the plan!?" Said Emily.

"Keep moving, don't just stay in one place. Ben and I are the fastest, so just stay behind and keep throwing things at him! Ben, I'll give you an opening, make sure you hit him hard!"

"Yeah!"

With that, we have formed a strategy to fight the SV4. Gavin would have used missiles or high-calibre machine guns, or smoke missiles to distract it. This allows me to launch several powerful strikes anywhere on its body. Emily was launching rocks or telekinetically moving my body whenever I got too greedy and was about to get smacked by the machine. After about ten minutes, the SV4 was damaged a good amount.

One of its arms I managed to tear off, leaving it with only three limbs. Its face was full of scratches, dense and cracked. As for its body, there was a good amount of damage, much more than what I could do in an hour. I panted before finishing my last candy bar.

[CE : 74%]

I heard Emily take deep breaths behind me. I turned to her. Her nose was bleeding, and she looked like she was about to collapse at any second.

"Why don't you go back, Emi. This guy is nearly done for; you've done enough."

Emily stubbornly shook her head.

"I'm good, let's just finish this!"

I pursed my lip, but didn't say anything. I look at the SV4, who is trying to swat away the Thunderclap jet, but way too fast, nimble and small to be hit. She's right, just maybe half an hour more, and we would bring down Man's Ultimate Weapon. We just need to endure it for just a bit longer. I was about to move in for an attack, but suddenly a small laser beam came out of nowhere and hit the Thunderclap's wing.

"What!?" Gavin demanded, shocked at what just happened, and I was shocked too.

Just what the heck happened? Then, suddenly, as the distance, a fast-moving figure started to charge at me. My eyes widened seeing a familiar cyborg coming for me.

"RED JUSTICE, I'LL KILL YOU!" Droid roars, landing a haymaker to my jaw, which stunned me, allowing the land several vicious strikes to my body.

"Back off!"

Emily called out, launching Droid back from a telekinetic blast. He clicked his tongue when he recovered, moving at the SV4's side, glaring at us. I frantically looked for Gavin while I was nursing my jaw, who thankfully evacuated his falling jet that exploded on the ground, as Gavin was safely descending down with a parachute.

"Droid, I thought he would be out of commission, but it seems he recovered more quickly than expected. This complicates things…" Groaned Gavin.

"That's putting it lightly."

Droid was strong enough for me to nearly go all out just to beat the guy. He was dangerous and strong, too, though I noticed he was still damaged from our last fight and he looks like he's barely holding himself together. The SV4's massive head turned to face the cyborg.

"I told you, I'll handle this. Go rest, you are far too injured to fight them." Arc said within the machine.

"No way, they are clearly dangerous when working together. I'll deal with Esper and Gavin." He says menacingly.

I tightly gripped my fist and glared at Droid and the SV4.

"Emily, run," I whispered to her.

She didn't say anything and remained at my side, ready to fight. I was about to shout at her, but then Droid moved, firing his laser beam at me, which I barely blocked. I was ready for a counterattack, but then zoomed past me to tackle Emily, who managed to form a barrier on time. I looked on with horror as I watched them collide with the ground.

"Emily!!" I moved in to help her, but I got hit by the SV4's large beam, making me yelp.

My body smoked as the light vanished. I grit my teeth, feeling Emily and Droid's silhouettes fighting. I wanted to help, but that damned machine kept on firing its massive energy beams, forcing me to move away from them.

"Damn it!"

"Ben! It's okay to focus on the SV4. I'll be there to help her, just focus!"

I clicked my tongue. I hated leaving her to fight with Droid, but I had no choice. I clench my fist. I just need to end this fast! I roared as I pulled back my fist, and the SV4 did the same. Our fit collided and resulted in an even bigger shockwave than last time. The force made my SEE Goggles crack. I prayed that Emily and Gavin were okay, as I roared, pushing the massive arm away to charge at the SURVIVOR.
