Nisha (worried):
"What? You really think I can just find a girl out of nowhere-right now? It's already 7:30 PM. If I go ask someone to kiss me, they'll laugh in my face! Or worse... they'll slap me."
She sits on the bed, hugging her knees, eyes brimming with anxiety.
Meena (calmly):
"I understand. But... I'm here. I can do this-for you."
Nisha (shocked):
"You? Really?"
Meena (soft smile):
"Yes. You're my best friend. You always listen to me when I'm upset, you take care of me when I'm sick-even when others don't care. Everyone else seems to be my friend only when they need something. But you? You've always been there."
Nisha (emotional):
"I didn't know you felt that way about me..."
Meena (thinking):
This rain... the way her hair smells in this breeze... and those soft lips... God, control yourself, Meena.
Nisha (snaps her fingers):
"Meena? You blanked out. Are you okay?"
Meena (flustered):
"Yeah, sorry... What were you saying?"
Nisha:
"I was just saying... thank you. For helping me. You're truly my best friend."
Nisha (hesitating):
"But..."
Meena:
"What now?"
Nisha (quietly):
"I've never... kissed anyone before. Not even a peck. I always believed my first kiss should be with someone I love... like in the movies."
Meena (internally):
Deep breaths, Meena... don't let her know how badly you want this kiss.
Meena (softly):
"Well, then... I have a suggestion.
Nisha (hopeful):
"What is it
Meena:
"Okay, so... in the movies, your first kiss is with a boy, right?"
Nisha:
"Yeah..."
Meena (grinning):
"Well, I'm not a boy. So technically, kissing me wouldn't count as your first kiss."
Nisha blinks, her lips twitching into a nervous smile.
Nisha:
"That's... actually a weirdly smart idea."
Meena (laughs):
"Exactly!"
Nisha (serious agan):
"But... would it be cheating my feelings?"
Meena (gently):
"No. You're not falling in love with me. You're just solving a problem. If you're uncomfortable, we won't do it. But then again, sending that nude to Neha is worse... right?"
Nisha frowns and shakes her head quickly.
Nisha (puppy eyes):
"No, please! Don't be upset. I trust you, Meena. You've always been with me."
Meena (soft tone):
"Okay... close your eyes."
The sound of rain grows louder outside. The breeze carries the smell of wet earth through the open window. Everything seems to stand still.
Nisha hesitates, then closes her eyes.
Meena (thinking):
This isn't just a kiss. Not to me. This means everything.
She leans in slowly, brushing a strand of Nisha's hair back. Her fingers graze Nisha's cheek gently. Then, her lips meet hers - soft, warm, hesitant.
3 seconds... then 5... a pause... then Nisha kisses back for a moment before pulling away, breathless.
Nisha (blushing):
"Oh..."
Meena (worried):
"Was that..too much?"
Nisha (blinking, surprised):
"No. It's just... I didn't expect it to feel like that. Like... electricity."
Meena:
"Are you okay?
Nisha (nods):
"I'm okay. And... you were right. Since you're a girl, it technically doesn't count as a first kiss."
They both giggle nervously. The tension slowly melts into warmth.
Nisha:
"So... should we record the video now?"
Meena:
"Yes. Let's get this over with."
She picks up her phone and sets it up. The room feels even more silent now.
Meena walks toward her, this time with a slight hesitation, but also with a calm resolve.
Meena (sft whisper):
"Ready?"
Nisha (takes a deep breath):
"Ready."
This kiss is different. It's still gentle, but now there's a shared vulnerability. Meena's hand touches Nisha's waist lightly. Nisha's eyes flutter shut. The video starts recording, but the moment feels strangely personal.
Time slows down.
3 minutes pass.
They break apart - awkward, shy, but not regretful.
Nisha (whispers):
"Thank you..."
Meena (smiling faintly):
"Anytime."
A moment of silence.
Nisha (playfully):
"Wait... so if you weren't a girl... would this have been your first kiss too?"
Meena (teasing):
"I'll let you wonder about that."
They both laugh.
Outside, the rain keeps falling - soft, comforting like a curtain between their room and the world
