Chapter 96 - Cassie's POV.

The feeling I was having at that moment was so complex, I could not place one of them right. A few minutes ago I was thinking that I was going to be accused of killing Donald, and right now he's awake all of a sudden as if nothing ever happened.

"Leave, leave us, Taylor," I heard him say, and slowly Taylor then began to walk away from the living room until I heard the living room door close.

I moved my gaze to Donald, who was now standing in front of me.

"What do you want?" I asked him in a shaky voice.

Even though I tried to pretend at that moment, I was not able to control the fear that I was feeling. Every fiber of me was touched by that accusation, and I found myself thinking I was going to pay the price for killing a person.

"Why are you so shaken?" he asked me in an almost casual tone.

I wanted to feel angry at the way that he was acting so normal and looking fine, but I could not feel the emotion in me as I just stared at him with wet eyes.
