Chapter 1 - The First Jump

1

"I'm going now, ma!"

"We wish you luck, honey- No, Climatic Leap!" She gave him a thumbs up while wiping her tears with her other hand.

"It's kinda embarrassing hearing you say that, but... thanks!" He gripped his bag.

Climatic Leap bent his knees then launched himself off.

He landed on the nearby light pole. By using that as a foothold, he jumped.

In the air, he leaned his body forward then by kicking the air below his feet, Climatic Leap propelled himself forward.

He waved one last goodbye to his mother before shifting his gaze to what's in front of him, but in this case, there's nothing in front for him to look at except the neverending sky.

He turned his head to look over the city below him.

He's not that far above so he can see the kids waving at him on the street.

"Those idiots" he waved back before kicking off at greater speed.

"He promised he'd play with us this morning..."

"He did, he's such a bad liar"

"Uncle, where's big brother Leap going?" One of kids asked a nearby store owner.

The old man behind the counter paused whatever he's doing.

"That boy? Hmm..." The store owner scratched his butt.

"I remember him sprouting nonsense such as defeating someone and becoming the strongest when he was younger. Judging from the uniform, I think he's going to make it a reality" he shrugged.

"Then, is he going to defeat bad guys like a hero?"

"Big brother Leap, a hero? That's cool!"

"Yeah, yeah!"

"Hero, huh?.." the store owner tilted his head.

"I don't think so, heroes are supposed to land, but that boy, he's quite airborne to fit that role"

After travelling for 20 minutes, Climatic Leap has arrived at his destination.

A large building high enough to be considered a skyscraper but wide enough to be not considered one. And this mountain of a building has walls around it that stretched far out like the Walls of China.

Upon arriving, he can see other students wearing the same uniform and same colored neckties, yellow to be precise.

He noticed that most of the students are walking toward a specific room.

"Must be the assembly hall, this is the first day so... the opening ceremony?" He muttered.

He tapped the ground a few times with his foot before going to the assembly hall like others were.

"I can't believe my journey is already starting" he said to the ring on his index finger.

"With you, we will—" he bumped into someone.

The coffee that that person was holding spilled on his uniform.

"A-are you okay?! Wait, no, it isn't okay, I'm so sorry! It's my first day, you see, I tend to get nervous..." Climatic Leap panicked.

While panicking, he noticed, the person is wearing gloves, which is obviously for covering how many rings he's got, sunglasses and a mask to hide his identity. His necktie is also hidden, which is a surprise.

"Bwaa— ha ha ha! Worry not, new boy, it's logical for a person to be nervous on their very first day" The mysterious person brushed his shoulder length hair and laughed it off.

"But, still! I'm really sorry, let me do something about your uniform" Climatic Leap reached out but his hand got slapped away. "Ouch.."

"Didn't I told you to not worry? Seriously, it's my fault to begin with, I wasn't even paying attention to where I am going!" He was about he take his sunglasses off but he stopped at the last moment.

Climatic can tell he's fighting the urges to take his sunglasses off, but he thought he shouldn't judge, there are weird people in this world after all.

"I wasn't paying attention too, it's my fault" Climatic stated.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk," He placed his finger on Climatic's lips. "Arguing further will just lead to us both wasting our time. How about, we decide this matter like how real men do?"

"Bring it on" Climatic Leap gulped.

"Rock, Paper, Scissors, shoot!" Both of them yelled.

"Scissors" Climatic threw.

"Paper" the mysterious student threw.

"It's decided, it's my fault that I wasn't paying attention—" Climatic Leap stopped, looking at the student who's muttering nonstop.

"I lost... I lost... I lost... I lost..."

"Are you okay?—" Climatic Leap reached his hand out as an attempt to help him out.

"I lost!!!!" The mysterious student ran away.

"... Huh?"

Climatic suddenly remembered something, he checked his watch.

"In almost late for the opening ceremony!"

He begun running like a maniac.

Climatic arrived at the assembly, the wave of students turned their heads toward him with all kind of looks.

"Eeek.. embarrassing" he said while taking a seat at the last available chair.

The stares begin to die out after a few seconds as they turned their heads back to the stage.

Then, everyone went silent.

A student stepped onto the stage, her long hair swaying with each step, she has a red necktie.

She didn't even need to speak, her powerful presence was enough to silenced everyone in this assembly hall, no one dared to make a sound

Because of that Climatic thought she's the President of the student council, if it existed, of course.

Two sliver glimmered from her hand as she walked.

"A two ring bearer" Climatic muttered.

She stood behind the podium. Tested the microphone by tapping it a few time then spoke.

"Good morning, everyone. It's a pleasure to welcome you at our academy.

As might've already heard, this institution is one of the most prestigious academies to learn more your rings and the powers they behold.

To all you first years with dreams, we're glad to have promising student with endless potential.

My name is High Crest, the President of the student council."

She smiled gently, but something feels heavy.

"This goes without saying, Welcome to the academy, everyone. All of you've walked in with dreams, ambitions, hopes, prides and delusions of grandeur—"

she stopped her tongue, the gentle smile turned into a smile of amusement, but it quickly returned. she cleared her throat

"Ah, sorry, what I meant was, may your journey here be enlightening"

Just like that, all the first years started clapping.

4

There are students everywhere, all of them minding their own business, something chatting with their friends and some training.

It's long before the first period starts so it gave Climatic time to wander around aimlessly through the hallway.

He tapped the ground with his foot a few times.

"Hard" he thought.

As he walk through the hallway he arrived at the left wing of the building, it's the dormitory section for the first years.

He looked at the number on the door and to the number written on the paper he's holding.

He nodded and turned the door handle, opening it.

What greeted him is a naked pink haired girl and a overly messy room. He thought the room was going to something luxurious, but this is far from what he thought.

"Hey" the girl said.

"C-can you wear some clothes?!" Climatic responded while squeezing his eyes close.

"Whatever" she threw on a lab coat and a pair shorts.

Climatic slowly peeked.

"So, you're my roommate, huh?" She said emotionless.

"Yeah, b-but isn't this the boys' dorm?" Climatic questioned.

"Yeah, you're not wrong" she replied.

"Then why's a girl here?" Climatic asked, confused.

"Rude. who said I'm a girl?" She raised a brow.

"B-but you have extremely large boobs! See, your lab coat is barely covering them!" Climatic pointed.

"Heh? Oh, yeah, my bad."

She walked over to the desk full of science related gadgets and glassware that Climatic couldn't name any. She grabbed a nearby vial containing a strange substance, and drank it without a word.

Climatic didn't say anything, just watched.

Poof. Smoke starts coming out of 'her' body. The smoke made everything hard to see in the room and when the smoke cleared 'she' is no longer a 'she' but a 'he'.

"Hey" he said, same tone but different form.

Climatic was dumbfounded by what happened in front of him. It's truly fascinating for him.

"You're a scientist?" Climatic asked

"Eh, why not?" He shrugged, he then sat on the chair.

His eyes drifted to Climatic's hand and the ring on his index finger.

"Index, huh? Interesting"

"Y-yes, my name is Climatic Leap, I'm an one ring bearer, I'm good at jumping. Nice to meet you!" He reached his hand out.

"I see, I'm Pocket Logic. Also an one ring" he took Climatic's hand and shook it.

"Say, was the female form any good?"

"H-huh? Why'd you ask?"

"Answer" Pocket gripped Climatic's hand hardly.

"O-ow! It's good, good!" Climatic tried to shake Pocket's hand off but it wasn't successful.

"Hmm.. I see" He released Pocket's hand.

"Wanna give it a try?"

"No?!"

Pocket Logic sighed, disappointed. But he shrugged it off. He checked his wrist watch and said "First period starting, you should go, Climatic"

"You're right, I should go now"
