Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Seeing his mother's gaze, Carl couldn't avoid it anymore. "I'm sorry, Mom, I was wrong." Carl bowed his head.

"Do you know what you should do now? A werewolf will not be able to live apart from his dead. You will be weak; remember, you are the Alpha this time. You must stay strong to protect this Pack," Caspian looked sarcastically at his son, who did not accept his destiny.

"I'm sorry, Father, actually, a long time ago, I found out about this. It turns out that in the past, in some Packs, they used to do this. The alphas were initially weak, but in the end, they survived because of the power of true love!" Carl remained adamant.

"How dare you read a forbidden book?" Caspian immediately hit the table in front of him because rejects were only found in forbidden books, and several centuries ago, werewolves were forbidden to read the books because it could endanger them.

"I'm sorry, Dad, I really love Loren. I would do anything, and I know what I did last night was completely wrong, but you know how much I love Loren. I can't betray Loren, and I'd step down from this position if it would allow me to be with him. I'm sure Loren would be fine with me and him just living as regular wolves because we believe in the power of our love!"

"Watch your language, Carl!" snapped Viola. Carl's words were outrageous, and if anyone heard them, they would probably think Carl was going to betray the Moon Pack.

"I love Loren very much, and I hope you two understand," Carl said as he walked out of his father's room.

After Carl left his room, Caspian sighed tiredly. "Look, Viola, look how your son is now. I told you long ago to separate them, but you said that they would not have any feelings over time, but what about now? Carl won't be able to live without his soulmate. We can't hurt the girl because of our son either," Caspian said tiredly because now their problem was bound to become the talk of their entire region.

"But that girl is just a wild wolf rescued by our omega, so maybe Loren is the best choice for Carl," Viola spoke quietly because she hadn't seen the mark on Claudia's wrist that indicated the girl was an omega, and now Viola remembered that one of the omegas had once asked permission to bring their adopted daughter to live in the castle.

"You shouldn't be blinded by your love for your son. Don't you know that mates are everything to wolves like us? I also don't understand why the Moon Goddess is testing us like this, but we have to think realistically. Do you think I've never looked into the repercussions of our son rejecting his mate? No, Viola, I have looked into everything, and in the end, those who reject their mate will live as lone wolves, and no happiness will come their way!" Caspian said very sternly, looking into his wife's eyes so that she could understand that he was doing all this for the sole good of their son.

In contrast to the hot atmosphere in Caspian's room, a couple was crying in another room as their daughter did not open her eyes even though night had come.

"Claudia, open your eyes, dear. Don't leave me, Mama." A woman with slightly white hair cried while holding her daughter's hand tightly.

The cries finally got a response as Claudia finally woke up from her stupor.

Claudia opened her eyes slowly, her delicate eyelashes fluttering slowly like a butterfly ready to fly.

"Mama?" Claudia said softly as the woman who had been taking care of her continued to cry heartbreakingly.

"Claudia, you're finally awake, baby; I'm sorry for leaving you last night!" Renata hugged her daughter very tightly.

Claudia also ended up crying in her mother's arms. The girl also remembered what had happened to her.

Roy who saw his daughter and wife crying, in the end also joined in to hug the two women he loved.

After the three of them were satisfied to shed their pain, Renata then looked at her daughter. "Do you already know that Alpha is your soul mate?" asked Renata directly because she also knew everything from the rumours that spread because the incident this morning had spread.

Claudia could only shake her head. "I didn't know anything, but during the party, I smelled the scent of mint and cinnamon together, but I didn't care. When I finished bathing, Alpha came over, and I found out everything. I couldn't bear to see Alpha in pain. I knew what I was doing was wrong, but I couldn't bear to see all that." Claudia cried again, telling how pathetic Carl was at that time until she finally wanted to have a meeting with Carl to save the man.

Renata and Roy listened patiently to their daughter's explanation and eventually came to the conclusion that they had to leave.

"No, Ma, this is your place. Where are we going anyway? I'll go," Claudia refused vehemently, as she knew it would be difficult for an omega wolf like her foster parents to leave that place.

"Then what do you want, Claudia? Do you want to stay here? Are you ready for the consequences? Think Claudia!" Renata said loudly because she knew staying there would only be hell for her daughter.

Claudia just shook her head. "I'm ready for any consequences. I'll stay because it's your home, and I'll leave when everyone wants to!" Claudia said firmly.

Meanwhile, Cassie remained silent because she was already very weak and found it a bit difficult to communicate with Claudia.

"Well, if you want to do that, we'll survive." Roy sighed slowly, and the little family finally began to prepare their hearts for what was to come.

As Renata had said, their life would not be easy if they stayed there. In fact, at this time, Roy and Renata were openly harassed by other omegas, and both remained silent for the sake of their daughter's wishes.

Without Roy and Renata knowing, Claudia feels the same way. In fact, Claudia was tortured very badly.

Claudia was forced to eat leftover food for a week because if she didn't eat it, she wouldn't have any other food. No omega would feed her, and the omegas hated her so much because Loren, their dear Miss, had suffered because of her.

"You shameless wild wolf!" An omega suddenly splashed Claudia with used laundry water.

"You deserve that!" Another wolf also suddenly threw trash at Claudia.

"What are you doing?" someone said, making the two omegas stop their behaviour.

Seeing who was coming, everyone lowered their heads, including Claudia, who was already wet and smelly from the two omegas torturing her.

"Miss Loren, we didn't mean to." An omega immediately answered Loren's question with an innocent face.

"I've seen everything, you shouldn't do things like this. It's better to do your job properly," Loren said gently.

"But Miss Loren, he's been mean to you, and why are you still so nice to this wild wolf?" The Omega continued to stare at Claudia sarcastically.

"You guys don't be like that, I'm fine." Loren smiled gently, which naturally made the omegas sympathize with her even more because of her kindness.

"Let's get up," Loren gave Claudia a hand.

Claudia was silent as she saw Loren's hand extended to her.

"You're so arrogant, look at Miss Loren being so kind to you!" The Omega again attacked Claudia as Loren's face looked sad that Claudia didn't want to accept her helping hand.

Hearing people continue to urge her, Claudia also saw Loren's face looking sad at the rejection and finally reluctantly the girl accepted Loren's helping hand.

Just as she was about to get up, Loren suddenly let go of her hand, and she fell down on him.

"Loren!" a worried man shouted and ran towards Claudia.
