I hope you are doing well and find joy reading this novel! This is not just a book about beautiful love with some fantasy elements between Marvin and Maia. It is also a story about family connection, self-healing process, friendship, confessions of a man who has lived 5 lives and morals behind it.
Is it too much if you have to do something that will bring pain to their heart of your loved one in order to protect them from future perils? What is the meaning of living 5 lives but having limited time to leave the ocean to come on shore and everything you learn is nothing but to act exactly the same in your first?
I think we may never get it because we only got one life and we are not the god of the sea that is one of the emperor bloodlines who ruled the underwater kingdom for 3 generations and has an evil curse on. Nevertheless, we will somewhat understand his thoughts and feelings of someone who had lived such a long amount of time.
