Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Villainous Eldest Senior Brother of Shénluán Peak

Chapter 1: The Villainous Eldest Senior Brother of Shénluán Peak

"Eyes like brilliant stars, nose straight as a hanging gallbladder; his features so exquisite they might have been sculpted by the hands of a god—flawless beyond reproach…"

"Come on, you're the villain! Why the hell do you need to look this outrageously handsome?!"

By the rippling stream, whose crystalline waters murmured over jade-green stones, a youth in flowing white robes—his bearing tall and elegant, like a celestial tree—stood alone.

Staring into the surface reflection, he muttered to himself with a look that mingled resentment and disbelief.

This young man was named Lin Xiao.

Fifteen years had gone by.

And now, Lin Xiao had finally come to terms with the role assigned to him in this life.

Yes—he had transmigrated.

But what made it utterly absurd was that he had been thrust into the body of a minor villain in a web novel he had once read in his previous life—a cheap harem xuanhuan with endless face-slapping tropes.

Even worse, this cannon-fodder villain bore his exact name!

In this world, he was the eldest disciple of Shenluan Peak, one of the five principal summits within the Qinglan Sect, a prestigious sect renowned across the Eastern Domain of Zhongzhou and ranked among the Eight Great Righteous Sect.

But Lin Xiao, this Lin Xiao, was a man of tarnished repute—cultivation mediocre, habits slovenly and greedy, character depraved to the bone. Even wild beasts would turn their heads in disdain!

His daily pursuits? Idling about, bullying juniors, harassing his alluring junior sisters under the guise of "playfulness"—a disgrace to the righteous path of cultivation!

In truth, the only thing worth showing off was his freakishly divine appearance—so stunning it could topple nations and tempt even celestials.

Yet Lin Xiao understood the author's true intent: to paint the villain this dazzling, just so the protagonist's face-slapping would be all the more satisfying, the contrast starker, the justice sweeter.

After all, isn't there a special joy in seeing a well-dressed beast get its mask ripped off?

He was fully aware of how his story ended. His vile deeds would be exposed one after another, and the protagonist would trample him beneath the weight of justice.

His Master, along with several junior sisters, would rain down punishment until he became a cripple, his meridians shattered, spirit broken—ultimately dying in despair, cutting off his own heart meridian atop the cliff.

And yet—

He welcomed that day.

Like every transmigrator chosen by the heavens, Lin Xiao possessed a golden finger—a cheat called the Slacker Villain System.

According to this worthless system, as long as he strictly followed the original plot and faithfully acted out his villain role, he would be allowed to transcend this plane, soar into immortality, and wander across myriad realms.

But what moved him most wasn't the so-called "immortal ascension" or "dao enthronement"—what truly burned in his chest was:

To break free of this world and return to Blue Star, his true home.

To see once more the family he had been torn from.

In his past life, his family had been far from wealthy, but they were bound by warmth and love. He had two parents who cherished him and a little sister as sweet as spring peach blossoms.

For more than a decade, Lin Xiao had longed for nothing more than to return to their side.

Whether he returned as an immortal being or an ordinary mortal—what did it matter?

"System! I've had enough! Just tell me—when exactly does the protagonist Ye Chen come to the sect?! I'm sick of playing out these disgusting little villain scenes!"

His voice brimmed with exhausted rage.

Ding!

"The System has already granted the Host perfect memory. Please review the plot details yourself."

A cold electronic voice echoed in his mind.

Lin Xiao's expression turned even darker.

Trash system. Might as well not exist.

Still, the memories came back.

He had indeed read that godawful novel—"Supreme Emperor"—during his reckless teenage years. It had hooked him with its shameless spectacle: posturing, face-slapping, power surges, harem antics—each more outrageous than the last.

But by the midpoint, the story collapsed. Ye Chen, the so-called protagonist, gathered a dozen peerless beauties into his orbit and then refused to touch any of them, like a self-castrated hypocrite. The power system fell apart.

Rumors even said the author outsourced the ending to ghostwriters. Lin Xiao had dropped it long before it finished.

"Still, I remember the first eight volumes—about two million words. My villain arc ends within the first million. Whatever happens after that isn't my concern."

He let out a breath of quiet relief.

And then, with a solemn heart, sat cross-legged and began to recall the plot in detail…

"Haotu Year 851, the start of winter. Empress Wu Yue of the Great Zhou Dynasty makes her move against the powerful warlord Ye Qingtian, whose merit threatened the throne."

"She issues a decree, labeling the Ye clan as traitors, and eighty-one members of the household are executed in the capital.l

"Only the Northern Heir—Ye Qingtian's son, Ye Chen—escapes, aided by the residual soul of an ancient master sealed within a ring."

"Guided by that mysterious old man, Ye Chen flees the Great Zhou and travels eastward, toward the Qinglan Sect to seek entry…"

"Year 851. Start of winter… that's tomorrow!"

"Ye Chen, oh Ye Chen… you're finally coming. Don't let me down."

After so many years of meaningless scoundrelry, Lin Xiao's heart surged with rare joy.

He brewed a pot of spirit tea, sipping slowly as he reviewed the coming sequence of events:

"According to the novel, tonight Ye Chen lodges at Yunlai Inn in Taoyuan Village, right outside the sect's main gate."

"Sometime around the hour of the Ox, Fourth Junior Sister Lu Yingying's spirit beast attempts a Foundation Establishment breakthrough, only to be startled by thunder and flee down the mountain."

"She searches desperately, only for Ye Chen to show up—master of ten arts, peerless genius—and easily tame the beast and return it unharmed."

"Boy meets girl. A spark is lit…"

"No—more precisely, she starts to fall for him. That damn Ye Chen, descended from some ancient harem-fantasy prototype, would lust after anything vaguely humanoid. Fox demons included."

"In any case, the two exchange beast-taming techniques and hit it off immediately."

"When Lu Yingying learns Ye Chen's goal, she becomes so excited she personally escorts him up the mountain."

"Just as they arrive, I—the villainous eldest senior brother—see them together. Jealousy rises. I plan to poison him."

"But Second Junior Sister Guo Yourong catches me red-handed and exposes me before everyone!"

"I fly into a rage, curse Ye Chen as a useless worm. He challenges me."

"With the help of that old man in his ring, he kicks my ass—an outer disciple in Qi Condensation defeats me, a Foundation Establishment senior."

"The sect is shocked. Ye Chen rises to fame. And I, Lin Xiao, suffer complete social death."

"Tsk. The sourness of this script could ferment vegetables. Classic dog-blood drama from the early era."

But then—

"Wait… aren't I forgetting a scene?"

He furrowed his brows in thought.

Just then, a transmission echoed from below.

"Senior Brother! Are you up there?"

It was Huai Zhen, his youngest junior brother.

"Today is your turn to attend to Master!"

And in that instant, clarity bloomed across Lin Xiao's face.

"Ah, right!"

"Before Ye Chen's arrival… there's still that infamous little episode!"

"Tonight, I go up to Master's room to clean. I lose myself to temptation, and… steal her white ice-silk stockings, hiding them in my robe pocket."

"The next day, during the duel, Ye Chen's spirit beast bites it out from my sleeve and exposes me in front of everyone."

"Instant humiliation. Complete downfall."

"But… stealing my own Master's intimate garment? Isn't that a little too degenerate?"

Lin Xiao gritted his teeth, torn between shame and resignation.

"Whatever! This world is fictional anyway!"

"I've been doing foul deeds for over a decade just to maintain this villain role. What's one more sin for the cause?"

"It's just a sock. Bite the bullet!"

In that moment, his eyes gleamed with a sharp, ruthless light.
