Before We Begin…
There are truths you must know—otherwise, the world you are about to step into will seem like a maze without a map.
This is a realm far smaller than Earth, yet bound and sustained entirely by magic.
Its order is maintained by the Magical Law Council, the judiciary, the entertainment guilds, the executive chambers, and the Head of State.
Above all stand the Extreme Nobles—two royal bloodlines at the highest rung of the hierarchy:
The Amethyst Blood and The Silvertine Blood.
They do not hold absolute rule, yet their influence is powerful enough to halt or fiercely challenge the laws of the committees.
Why only these two?
The Amethyst are born with psychic sight and the rare gift of perfect imitation.
The Silvertine bear the ability to absorb and accumulate the powers of other clans.
Formidable gifts, yes—but strength here is not given in its full measure at birth. Power must be honed, mastered, and earned. Even the royals are not to be feared without cause.
Beneath them are the Elemental Clans—Fire, Water, Thunder, Wind, Earth, and Love,Ice —each carrying the ancient force of its element.
Below still are the commoners, whose gifts, though not elemental, are far from ordinary: the ability to sense fortune, to foresee danger, to twist light or perception. With skill and accumulation, even a commoner (HUMILES) may rise… but those who lose their magic entirely are sent away, exiled to the world without magic, to live as humans do.
As you may already know, every magician enters The Astral Academy at the age of eighteen.
Until then, magic is forbidden for children. At thirteen, they begin their apprenticeship years—learning in their own homes the delicate arts of:
Fading from sight
Moving objects with the mind
Erasing a single memory from another.
Learn to fly smoothly.
Simple to name. Complex to master.
Five years are spent building the foundation before one can step through the gates of the academy… believing they are ready.
Whether they truly are—that is another matter entirely.
So, let's think about it—how vast is this world of ours?
Not endlessly sprawling, no. It's contained, deliberate… almost as if the edges were drawn by a careful hand.
At its heart lies The Astral Academy, where every gifted child begins their journey, their magic still raw and untamed.
Beyond it, the Elemental Clans, the noble bloodlines who claim the purest forms of magic—untuchable to most.
Then there are the two ancient houses that seem to stand apart from time itself—Amethyst and Silvertine—each holding secrets no book dares record.
And finally, the dozen commoner clans, scattered but essential, weaving the quiet magic of everyday life.
That's it.
Small enough to know every name, yet vast enough to never learn every secret.
Can commoners attend the Astral Academy?
Indeed, they can. Birthright grants no guaranteed seat within its marble halls. Each aspiring student—be they of noble lineage or humble blood—must demonstrate mastery of the foundational arts. Only the top five hundred in the entrance trials earn the right to walk its starlit corridors. Even heirs of elemental bloodlines find no refuge here; should they fail to rank, the gates of the Academy will remain closed to them.
People in this world live by weaving magic into their everyday trades. Many join entertainment guilds, dazzling crowds with illusions, elemental shows, or enchanted performances. Skilled mages help construct massive buildings, shaping stone and wood with magic and furnishing them with intricate, enchanted designs.
Others work as teachers, passing down magical knowledge. Some specialize in herb cultivation, using spells to grow rare medicinal plants faster and with stronger properties. Beast tamers train and sell magical creatures, while artisans craft parchment for spell scrolls and books.
Sports are also a thriving profession—many games here are infused with magic, attracting huge audiences. Traders deal in energy gemstones, mined or conjured, selling them in bustling marts to adventurers, craftsmen, and spellcasters alike.
Do all the people of Nobels have the same power?
No, they don't. While magic and power are indeed gifted, each individual possesses a unique ability. Some Amethyst-blooded individuals may not even be able to defeat members of the Elemental Clans—or even skilled commoners.
In the end, the strength of one's magic depends entirely on practice and dedication.
Using magic consumes a great deal of energy, so without training, even great potential can remain untapped.
But my dear readers, surely there are always exceptions, right?
Some of the Amethyst or Silvertine blood may be born with extreme powers and perfect control over them — no practice needed. And sometimes, even a commoner can possess an immense amount of energy and power. Perhaps not the elemental kind, but something rarer… the ability to absorb energy, mutate it, and awaken the very beginning of a new legacy of power.
Who knows? We'll uncover all of it as the story unfolds — no pressure.
