I couldn't exactly hide the new power I had from Madam Pomphrey unless I just didn't want to practice with it so I didn't. She was astonished by the sight of the bright arcs of electricity jumping along my hand as I played with the power and even Dumbledore and the other professors were called to the hospital wing in hopes of figuring out what was going on.-
"It's unusual. Close to how a magical gift such as metamorphagus behaves yet there was no signs of it previously. There are tales of those blessed with talent for elemental magic but this is clearly something else." he said seriously.
"Is it safe Albus? This is lightning magic after all, a branch of spells notorious for their unruliness." Flitwick asked concerned.
"It doesn't seem unruly to me." Snape pointed out flatly as I shaped the lightning into balls, squares and pyramids unbothered by the scrutiny.
"Could it be because of the spear?" Mcgonagall suggested equally unsure.
"It is possible I suppose, magical items like that can hold unpredictable effects at times. It's possible that through his bond to the weapon that as his health returns it is allowing him access to some new ability it generated within him." Dumbledore said with a troubled look.
I certainly wasn't going to explain about the devil fruits to them as I haven't left the hospital wing in well over a week and I definitely wasn't going to expose the system like an idiot like that. Of course once the Greengrass sale went through word of the fruits will inevitably get out but by then it wouldn't matter. I would definitely be out of the hospital wing and have had some time to get practice with my new powers.-
Even in one piece it was stated that devil fruits were only limited by the imagination of the users and I had a vast imagination and pool of inspiration to draw from thanks to my countless video games and animes consumed. I knew how Enel used the fruit and could say definitively that he barely tapped the surface of it's true abilities. The most creative thing he did with it was his haki trick and 200 million volt Amaru transformation. That form was more or less taking advantage of the logia's elementalization to make himself bigger and thus hit harder.-
Like every other thing he did it was a crude and brutish use of the power that could perform much better with precision instead. Perhaps manipulating the nerves in a body to mimic mind control? Why not stimulate the cells with low end electricity to grow your physique like the Raikages in Naruto? What about electromagnetism? The sheer amount of wasted potential held by this fruit was mind boggling when Enel held it. Now that I had it I wouldn't make that mistake and might even be able to awaken the fruit through thorough exploration of all it was capable of in time.-
For now though I was still very new to the powers and would need at least a little time to really start excavating the full extent of the power. Of course even now I was likely the second most dangerous person in the entire room behind Dumbledore since I could still throw a max power lightning bolt with no warning. All logia fruits were like this when first eaten. The surge of pure power they gave was massive right out the gate, even more so for the goro goro no mi. -
Naturally this was the most basic form of lightning at the moment but even just that was more than enough to kill the average wizard before they could blink. If caught off guard even Dumbledore might perish in an instant if struck by lightning. What came as a surprise to me was that the fruits power was magical in nature. Like it seemed obvious in hindsight what with the way they worked but I just hadn't given it that much thought. It was one of those things where you just assume it was unique to that world and then move on.-
This kind of made me curious if zoan fruits WERE Animagus transformations. Maybe a more advanced form of the art even? This begged the question if I could even do this worlds form of the art now that I had a devil fruit or if the devil fruits gave a limited version of magic to the user through the devils within them and if I just took the traditional path I'd be fine? This required experimentation and I happened to know of a certain rat that would serve well for such a test. Of course I'd have to wait until after the fourth years events in canon if I didn't want to totally derail things.-
'Then again if I grab him during the third year would Voldemort ever come back? And if not would that be such a bad thing?' I thought with a slight frown.
"Not to worry child your health is still on the mend." Madam Pomphrey said apparently mistaking my frown for concern about my health.
"Oh, sorry I was lost in thought actually. I was wondering how this would work with my peers is all. Children can be cruel, jealous things when you are special after all." I said making a convincing excuse.
"Speaking from experience are we? Regardless that is indeed a valid concern." Snape said sternly.
"Yes, I believe we have a graduating student who suffered a similar trouble. Miss Nymphadora Tonks, a natural metamorphagus. She solved the trouble with her outgoing and playful disposition. A trait young Alex here unfortunately does not possess. I fear that this uniqueness in addition to his aloof personality would only make other students less friendly towards him." Dumbledore said with a concerned look.
