Chapter 73 - Selling(2)

"These are wonderful items but the price for them must also be quite high as well." Rockwell said seriously.

"That depends on your current resources actually. Judging from your willingness to venture into the wyvern trench though you shouldn't find too much trouble collecting the things I'm interested in. For the hat I want a specimen implant, I have another customer who would likely benefit from such a thing quite a good deal. As for the bag I want some Species X seeds and a unique creature from that ark, the Phoenix." I said seriously.

"You mean the flaming bird that shows up during the heat waves and then vanishes afterwards?" he asked with a frown.

"Yes, while I highly doubt it's the same as my worlds Phoenix's I am still quite interesting in it." I said nodding.

"I'm not unwilling to try but how would I even go about acquiring such a thing?" he asked confused.

"The bird is a flame eater. Once you find one you simply need to use a flamethrower to burn it until it's tamed. The easiest way to do so is to find one and then wait for the heatwave to end before building a cage around the ashes that fall to the ground when it ends. The next heatwave will revive the bird from the ashes and burning it inside the cage will tame it easily." I explained honestly.

"That sounds like nonsense." he said flatly.

I shrugged "I didn't make the thing so I can only tell you the rules I know. If I had to guess though the people who designed that ark did so based off the myths surrounding the things. How they made it is beyond me but they did and it's your profit." I said honestly.

"Finding the beast and tracking it during a heatwave will prove time consuming but if taming it is as easy as you have stated then I should only need a few days at most to deliver it to you. As for the specimen implant and Species X seeds I have those on hand right now." he said before a prompt came up.

{Trading partner: Edmund Rockwell wishes to give the user items: 5X Species X seed, Treasure: Specimen implant, Accept items Y/N?}

I accepted the items and sent over the two items from my end along with an additional thousand system coins.

"Contact me when you have the bird and of course if you find anything interesting or valuable. Naturally I take commissions as well." I said and he nodded with a satisfied expression before ending the contact.

I was all in all quite satisfied with this sale of mine. Naturally the specimen implant was something I prepared for David as it would give him a massive boost. Unlike with Rockwell and the others in his world David's world focused on cybernetics and thus he should in theory be able to sync the implant to his neuroport to access it's true functions.-

If these were based on the game and explorer notes then the implant would give him the ability to understand all languages in real time, possess a limited inventory and have an incredibly powerful biomonitoring operational system to keep his other implants from driving him nuts. Additionally it would allow him to "level up" which from a realistic standpoint probably meant modifying his bodies innate abilities. That was my hope anyways. If he can increase his speed and strength using the implant along with his "health" then he'd quickly become nigh unstoppable in his world even if his chrome were shut down somehow.-

The seeds and Phoenix though were entirely for me. The Species X plant was not unique as far as the magical world was concerned as the venomous tentacula filled a similar niche. What the later of the two COULDN'T do however was actively differentiate friend from foe. This made Species X the perfect thing for guarding an area. The plant could be trained to attack intruders in an area like a guard dog that only requires water and fertilizer every now and again. -

I intended to gift one seed to Professor Sprout so I can use her to test how the plant would react to the magical herbology methods. If the result is good I can use the remaining four for myself one day after I find a base to operate out of. If the result isn't good I can always just sell them to some other world as even without magical herbology the plants were still excellent defensive measures. As for the Phoenix that was just because I highly doubted I'd ever be able to own an actual Phoenix from this world and I'm a nerd who really wanted one after reading the books.-

I know it's not the same thing but Ark's Phoenix is still a cool pet to have and similar enough. Plus it would serve as an excellent way to get on Hagrid's good side as I could ask him to take care of it when I was busy with school work. I still had three eggs to trade him anyways so his friendship and help procuring stuff was all but assured. With this in mind I smiled and went back to studying the potions book I had grabbed.
