Chapter 1 - Prologue

A reddish light suddenly fell to the ground at the speed of light, causing cracks that stretched for three kilometers across the barren forest floor. Shortly after, a man dressed in pristine white descended and landed. A golden light radiated around his body. Even as both of his feet touched down, the earth trembled, and an explosion of energy emitted a new force. It looked like a visible frequency wave.

"Where are you hiding, Jian Hong? Even if you run to hell, I will find you and show you what hell really is!" The man swung two swords in his hands brutally, forming a unique light formation with rays of golden and blue light.

"Divine Lantern!" The man shouted, and the sky echoed with thunder. Then, from one of the lightning strikes, a transparent lantern formed, floating and stopping right at the center of the formation. With the lantern present, the atmosphere, once eerie and dark, became completely illuminated.

His gaze continued to scan the entire area, searching little by little. Yet, he still could not find what he sought.

When the Realm of Gods was destroyed, the God of War became extremely furious. He attacked his enemy recklessly until stranded in the Human Realm. Luo Tianqi's wrath, as the God of War, surged rapidly. He unleashed powers that Jian Hong—his current enemy—had never before witnessed.

Before arriving here, both had fought desperately with two massive armies involved. When their clan's soldiers were nearly defeated on the battlefield, neither intended to end the battle that night. The hatred between them ignored the countless lives lost due to their actions.

"Is that bastard really dead?" Tianqi muttered. He began to loosen his formation, feeling sufficiently safe.

Slowly, Luo Tianqi approached the figure he had knocked to the ground. With two blades—one gold and one red—in his right and left hands, his eyes widened fully, and his expression showed endless rage. He had sworn that he would not stop searching until he found Jian Hong's corpse.

But as Tianqi walked on the cracked earth, something emerged from the fissure—a red and black light radiating across a body. It made Tianqi's alertness spike. He immediately floated into the air and took a fighting stance.

His focus shifted to a figure in black robes—embossed with gold on every side—floating upwards with closed eyes. Despite his battered appearance, with scratches on his face and robes mostly stained with blood, his grandeur was undiminished. Slowly, his eyes opened, emitting a sharp glowing red light.

The gaze of the man with the majestic crown followed Yan Zhen wherever he went, never releasing him for a second, constantly watching the enemy's movements. Slowly, one corner of his lips lifted into a cynical smile, "I am truly surprised you're still alive after all that has happened."

Shortly after saying that, Jian Hong's energy spread into the air. Its pressure forced Luo Tianqi to step back and plant his sword into the ground to maintain his balance, "If I were you, I would fix my mistakes and stop messing up the world."

"You still refuse to surrender even now. It would be better for you to stop resisting and accept your death obediently, Jian Hong. Save some strength to endure your painful death."

Yet, a faint smile also appeared on Jian Hong's face above, "Even if I must die here, I will not let you go without severe injury. The hatred between us must end today."

After saying that, Jian Hong moved his hands in a circular motion. Along with the red and black lights from each hand merging like a rope made of energy fibers, but the elements didn't fully merge. The two sides of light spun around each other continuously. Not long after, he pushed the energy fiber toward the sky with his face tilted upward.

His eyes closed tightly, then a red formation surrounded by black light appeared in the sky. It was a large round shape with intricate carvings formed in the sky, shading both of them. With a regular movement of his fingers, a red light shot from his fingertips and pierced the formation, causing the previously still power to start moving—from slow to spinning rapidly.

"God Slayer Formation?" Luo Tianqi murmured. He then looked at the terrifying formation in panic while trying to hide it. He often fought demons but had never seen a formation that strong before. Also, he had only heard about it in books he read.

Grinding his jaw, Luo Tianqi grew angrier because of it. He slammed his sword into the ground, creating a shimmering blue energy wave that successfully blocked Jian Hong's wave. "You truly have become part of the demon clan, Jian Hong! I will not let you commit too many crimes!"

After saying that, Luo Tianqi leapt forward to attack Jian Hong. But the rapid spin of the demon formation created a tremendous wind mixed with red light, preventing Luo Tianqi from approaching Jian Hong. His clothes floated along with the gust of energy wind. Luo Tianqi's movement was halted in midair with his two swords crossed in front of his face to block the wind's effects, "What exactly is the power of this mighty formation?"

"You'll find out after you try it yourself, Luo Tianqi," Jian Hong replied calmly. He once again summoned all his strength to reinforce the formation. "Take this!"

Luo Tianqi's body could no longer withstand the intense energy and was thrown against a large tree below. He coughed up a considerable amount of blood from the impact. Tianqi clutched his chest, feeling tightness as he watched the demon formation closing in on him. He also saw Jian Hong directing one hand to press the formation, increasing the pressure on Luo Tianqi.

"Fall!" Jian Hong calmly shouted, his voice echoing in the air, causing anyone who heard it to feel fear.

Tianqi did not remain silent. He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth before standing upright, "I have to do something."

Both of Tianqi's swords floated in the air, spinning. But after a moment, they dropped to the ground again. His mouth once again spat blood with excruciating pain. As he looked at his own hands, golden energy appeared to be pulled out.

"Damn! This formation is actually absorbing my power through the energy wind! No, I cannot die here. I cannot let Jian Hong win!" He closed his eyes again, now with empty hands.

From within his chest, he produced a furnace that flew higher and grew larger. Tianqi's forehead emitted light, and the magic immediately merged with the furnace. Unfortunately, Jian Hong did not notice this right away.

"Anyway, only one of us may leave alive," Tianqi muttered while perfecting the formation he was making.

Jian Hong's position floating in the air with the formation now behind him was truly dramatic. With black and reddish light mixing, Jian Hong's body looked like a god. His cold gaze and his hand pressing down seemed to signal the formation to approach Luo Tianqi immediately, "You will not escape your death this time!"

But moments later, a light appeared from the sky, dazzling and disturbing Jian Hong's concentration. The man, his long hair blown by the wind, quickly shifted his gaze upward. Meanwhile, Luo Tianqi secretly carved a faint smile as he watched the sky slowly split open.

With several lightning flashes and swirling clouds around the growing circular rift, the thunderous sound caused Jian Hong's eyebrows to raise. "So Luo Tianqi still has a final attack. But what great power is that? I can feel immense pressure from there."

He continued to observe the object emerging from the rift. Jian Hong's eyes widened further when he saw a golden eye with hints of blue. It measured about 40 meters, surpassing the size of his demon formation. When the eye looked down and blinked once, Feng Jian's heart tightened so much he had to clutch his chest.

Not only that, the weapon could also create many smaller clones that resembled him. They spread throughout the sky around them. "That... is the God's Eye," Jian Hong whispered, almost inaudibly. The rumbling in his chest grew stronger as he realized that above them was a truly dangerous weapon.
