One day, Alvin went up to Nova while she was studying. He pushed all of her books aside, leaned closer, and whispered in her ear, "Hey, fattie."
Nova clearly seemed uncomfortable but still replied, "Pick on someone your own size."
Alvin chuckled. "Aren't I brave for picking on someone twice my size?"
Nova just stared at him and ran away to the bathroom. She locked herself in a stall and cried her eyes out. Five minutes later, she finally got up and washed her face.
The bell rang, and another school day passed. Nova picked up her bag and was about to go outside the classroom when Alvin blocked her way.
"Where you going, Ms. Nova?"
Nova, clearly annoyed, replied, "It's not like it's any of your business."
Alvin chuckled and offered to drop her home. She declined, but he insisted and said, "You can talk some other day when I'm not home, 'cause I'm not a fan of looking at your face."
Alvin laughed and went in anyway.
Nova's parents welcomed him.
"What brings you here, dear?" they asked.
"It's about business," Alvin replied. "I was gonna meet you guys anyway, so I just dropped Nova off so I could have a word with you."
"Oh, please have a seat, dear, you must be tired," Mrs. Nathan said.
"Thanks, auntie," Alvin replied.
