Chapter 6 - 06-Ability

After Fujita told the details of his power, the others also followed by telling what they had.

Well, since we're new to this world, it might be a good idea to tell the people of this world for the sake of our future direction.

[Reserve Space]

That was the name of Agatha's power. A space-type ability—she could open a dimensional space that could be used for physical storage.

Jack said that this world also had the concept of storage space like Agatha's power, but storage space in this world required a magic tool, unlike Agatha who could create it directly.

After Agatha's examination, next was Kushida, and what she got was—

[Blessed Recovery]

It was a support-type ability. She could heal wounds, reduce pain, and restore stamina.

Although we didn't yet know how effective her power was, it was certainly very useful in battle.

And the last examination was Haru. He took the cube nervously, and just like with the others, strange patterns began to appear—but something different happened. The patterns were now golden and glowing, unlike before, when they were only milky white.

"W-what's happening?"

"OOH."

"It seems something amazing is happening."

Seeing that sight, the atmosphere in the room became full of surprise.

"Hmm... looks like he's the protagonist of this world... Damn! If only I were the last to touch that damn cube!... Wait! There's still another possibility, haha."

In this situation, I looked toward Renaldi. He started saying strange things again, with an expression of regret that suddenly turned into an expression of happiness.

Has he gone mad? His unstable, swinging emotions made me see him that way.

A few moments later, the light subsided and dropped golden droplets that eventually turned into a small pin.

Haru took it and read the writing on the pin.

Like the others, Haru also groaned in pain. After recovering, Haru began to explain his power.

"This is an element-type ability. According to the explanation I received, Light is my power. That's the only explanation I was given."

Hmm... Light as a power? Is Haru becoming a solar panel? The information about his power was still lacking, but with the earlier flashy event, it must be a highly influential power.

"OOOH, the Power of Light—this must be the power bestowed by the God Urt. Lord Haru, join the church. Under our guidance, we will provide support for every step of your journey to save this world."

"JACK!!!"

"...."

After learning Haru's power, Jack enthusiastically invited him to join the church, and Cyrus suddenly raised his voice to call Jack.

Jack stared at Cyrus and vice versa. This confrontation was different from before—this time, both of them were serious.

Maybe others didn't know, but I could feel the energy radiating from both of them.

"Hohoho, don't be so impatient, little Jack."

"???"

We suddenly heard a familiar voice, and when we looked toward the source, there was Magnus sitting on the sofa next to us.

This man suddenly appeared, surprising us, but with that, the energy radiating from Cyrus and Jack began to subside.

"Haah~, forgive me, Cyrus. And to the heroes, I apologize for showing something disgraceful. Also, thank you, Lord Magnus, for making me realize it."

Jack bowed to apologize to us and thanked Magnus.

"HMPH."

"No problem."

"Hohoho."

King Cyrus snorted in annoyance, and Fujita responded with understanding.

"Alright, the examination is over... We will return to the church shortly. The rest of the explanation will be given by King Cyrus."

After saying that, Jack walked toward me and spoke while showing me the cube in his hand.

"I don't know why the Luminis Core didn't work on you, Lord Fixl... Do you have no power? Or is your power negating the Luminis Core's appraisal?"

Or maybe because I'm not from the same world as Haru? But then, why can I sense energy? I'm sure this phenomenon is my power.

I felt there was no need to hide this phenomenon, so I explained to Jack that I could sense energy.

"Hmmm... you say you can sense magical energy? Sensing magical energy isn't hard, but it requires training. I've heard your world has no magic, so it's impossible for you to have trained in sensing magical energy... this could be related to your power—still a mystery. Hmmm... Sorry, I can't help you with that, but take this."

What Jack wanted to give me was that strange cube.

"I think maybe in the future, this Luminis Core will work, so take it."

"Are you sure about giving me this?"

"Yes, I'm very sure. This object is useless to beings from this world. Besides, we still have several of the same item, so I think losing one isn't a problem."

Jack said this with full confidence. If he said so, I guess he had a point, so I accepted what he gave me.

"Alright then, I'll take it."

"Good... Anna, let's go back."

"Okay."

After that, Jack and Anna left the room.

"Haa~ Finally, they're gone. Alright, let's move on to the next topic... Sit down first."

With their departure, Cyrus said that and sat beside Magnus. We followed his instructions and sat across from the two of them. After that, Cyrus began to speak.

"I want you to stay in the castle for at least six months."

"You want us to stay in the castle for six months?"

"Yes... I want you to understand more about this world, so I think six months is enough for that. I've spoken with various parties, and they want to take you under their wings... like earlier, when the church wanted to take Haru under their wing."

"I see."

Fujita nodded after hearing King Cyrus's explanation.

"Of course, I also think like them. If you want, you can live in this castle permanently."

I see. We are beings from another world, and moreover, we are the destined heroes—of course, many would want to invest in us.

I saw Renaldi raise his hand and ask a question.

"Can we refuse such offers?"

"Of course! That's your individual decision, so you should think about it carefully. But if you want to travel, I suggest you be able to defend yourselves first before stepping into the outside world."

Cyrus was right—this world had all kinds of monsters and bad people carrying weapons everywhere, capable of casting magic at anyone.

"That's why Lord Magnus will teach you magic... Of course, if you want to learn other skills, there are many great people here who can teach you."

I see—that's the reason Magnus is here.

I might not have a problem with self-defense, but it's different for the other five. Even though they had special powers, they weren't developed at all, so they needed to develop their powers and learn some skills.

The six of us just looked at each other. Choosing something like an investor wasn't a decision that could be made quickly.

We needed time to think about it, and it seemed Cyrus understood that.

"You don't need to think about it now—you need to observe the situation first, and most importantly, you must learn many things... That's all I can say for now. Do you have any questions?"

"Can we really use magic? And when can we start learning magic?"

Magnus was the one who answered Renaldi's question.

"Yes, I've already confirmed that you can use magic, and we can start the lessons tomorrow."

What? Since when did he confirm that? Hmm... it seems our first meeting wasn't just a simple greeting after all.

"Any other questions?"

"..."

Since no one else asked anything, Cyrus ended the meeting.

"It seems there's none. In that case, this meeting is adjourned. You may leave... Ah, before that—for now, I want you to keep the contents of this meeting a secret, especially the type of power you have."

"Understood, we will keep it secret."

Cyrus nodded at Fujita's answer, and we left the room.

In the room left behind by the heroes from another world, Cyrus and Magnus discussed something.

With a serious face, Cyrus asked Magnus—

"Are you sure it's true?"

"Yes, I'm 90% sure."

Hearing Magnus's answer, Cyrus furrowed his brow.

"Ugh... I can't believe that could exist here."

"Yes, I also still don't understand what all this is for, but there must be a special reason."

"Yes, you're right. She must have a special reason... but fortunately, Jack did his job properly."

Hearing that, Magnus stood from his seat and left the room without saying anything.

Cyrus didn't look at Magnus's departure—he just stared at the ceiling, deep in thought.
