Chapter 162 - Universal Union

The Universal Union was an organizational structure Marcus had been conceptualizing for a long time. After in-depth discussions with other Ishimura crew members, Marcus recently decided to seize this opportunity to formally establish it and bring it into the open. Rather than using his power to be an autocratic monarch ruling various worlds and civilizations, Marcus hoped to establish an alliance that connected all the myriad worlds.

After all, the fate of the former, like the Emperor who perpetually sat on the Golden Throne, served as the best example of such a burden. That was a weight capable of crushing the strongest psychic in human history, and Marcus didn't believe he could bear it. Therefore, forming an alliance to unite forces or civilizations from diverse worlds was the optimal choice.

(T/N : The author calls it star sea alliance, but the Universal Union sounds more like a multiversal empire, The Combine approves this message)

Just as the regulations presented to the ICA directors stated, the main purpose of the Universal Union was to coordinate the civilizations of various worlds and, through a series of complex algorithms, calculate each member's contribution value. As long as any member encountered a problem they couldn't solve alone, they could use their contribution value to request assistance from the Universal Union. Of course, Marcus didn't plan to let members from different worlds directly interact yet; it was still too early for that. Earth from the Avatar World was the first member to join the Universal Union, though they themselves were unaware of it. As for the second member, it was, naturally, the United Government of the Resident Evil world. After the Ishimura sent the terms of the Universal Union to the United Government, it received a request from them to join in less than half a minute.

Whether it was Earth from the Avatar World or the United Government from the Resident Evil world, they all believed they had joined some grand and unfathomable organization. Only those on the Ishimura knew that the Universal Union was still just an empty shell. What they needed to do was constantly fill it with muscle and blood vessels to make it substantial.

"I have another title now," Marcus mused inside the Ishimura's bridge. From captain of the Ishimura to Planetary Governor of Avarax, he now had the added title of founder of the Universal Union. "Who would have thought we'd come this far?" Beside Marcus, the old crew members of the Ishimura were filled with emotion. Six months ago, they were merely unfortunate survivors who had narrowly escaped the Slashers disaster caused by the god seal. Now, they were creating an organization that truly spanned various worlds and united countless people. All of this was because of the mysterious captain in front of them. Few people now cared about Marcus's origin or true identity. The crew members of the Ishimura were enveloped by a great sense of mission, eager to immediately throw themselves into endless work.

"Alright, we're going to be very busy for a while," Marcus interrupted the crew members who had been lost in thought. "Supervise the ICA closely to upload their technological data to the database, and send people to contact and understand those warships. This will strengthen our forces on Avarax." "Yes!" The crew members, having received their orders, dispersed to carry out their tasks.

"I wonder when the system will open up more permissions. It's still too troublesome for me to jump between several worlds with the spaceship alone," Marcus pondered silently after the crew members left. He had a vague premonition that perhaps after the Avatar World mission ended, his system permissions would receive a significant upgrade. Shaking his head, Marcus refocused his attention on the screen in front of him. The image displayed showed the diplomatic team led by Alex continuously communicating with the ICA directors. The ICA directors had already generally understood various matters regarding the Universal Union. In fact, more directors wanted to inquire about immortality, but they were dismissed by Alex's simple statement, "Your current contributions are not enough."

"If you want to increase Earth's contribution to the Alliance, upload more technology and focus on developing Pandora," Alex added. "The Universal Union will own thirty-four percent of Pandora, and your Earth will own thirty-three percent."

"What about the remaining thirty-three percent?" Barry asked keenly.

"That will belong to the Na'vi," Alex said lightly.

"Have the Na'vi also joined the Alliance?" Barry and the other directors immediately asked. Earth had indeed invaded the Na'vi, and if the Na'vi joined the Alliance, what if they sought accountability? Alex reassured them: "Not yet, but you don't need to worry. The Alliance will not pursue anything from the past." Alex's words finally put the ICA directors at ease. Immediately, everyone in the conference room shifted their focus to the development direction and details for Pandora.

In fact, the development strategy for Avatar was very simple. Marcus would acquire a complete set of planetary environmental transformation facilities from the Adeptus Mechanicus. He only needed the anti-aging substance from the brains of a special creature on Pandora called 'Tulkun,' which would drive all Planetary Governor and Imperial officials mad. By then, there would naturally be no shortage of resources to trade with the Adeptus Mechanicus.

"I wonder how Isaac's infiltration plan is progressing," Marcus thought to himself. The success or failure of the infiltration plan directly related to Marcus's current system mission progress, as well as potential future permission upgrades and opportunities to go to new worlds. "I hope those Na'vi are sensible," Marcus shook his head. If it dragged on, he would have to resort to more forceful methods.

Standing up, a white light flashed, and Marcus disappeared from the spot. The crew members in the bridge responsible for operating the Ishimura were already used to it. During this time, they often saw their captain's magical ability to travel between various worlds.

"Ah, the long-lost Hive City air," Marcus sighed as soon as he returned to the Hive City on Avarax. Compared to the beautiful scenery of Pandora, the sand-filled Avarax was indeed enough to make one feel disgusted.

"Are you back to ask for soldiers again?" A clear voice sounded behind Marcus. Turning his head, it was Alexia in a white dress looking at Marcus.

"What? In your eyes, am I just someone who only asks for people?"

"Aren't you?" Alexia retorted. "During this period, you have taken away a total of over a million soldiers, and Avarax's planetary defense force is still insufficient."

Marcus calmly sat down. "We have reached a cooperation with the humans of that world to jointly develop Pandora, so next, I will gradually send those PDF soldiers back."
