Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Discussions from Guild Members

After the meal, Bartello continued his collection work.

Rayn found a place to rest and recover his stamina.

As for Kanna, she started chasing insects and running around, her small figure darting through the valley.

It was not until Bartello packed his tools that Rayn called Kanna back.

On the way back, besides chasing away a few passing magical beasts, there were no other accidents.

When the sun set in the distant sky.

Rayn and the other two finally returned to the town of Magnolia.

However, due to the commission fee, Rayn could not go directly back to the guild.

He could only follow Bartello to his home.

"Rayn, this is your commission fee."

Bartello handed a linen bag to Rayn. It made a crisp sound as it shook.

"…Alright, then we will go back first."

Opening the bag and glancing at it, Rayn looked up at Bartello and said.

"You said before that you would come to visit. I am waiting."

Bartello did not care about Rayn's actions, but instead nodded.

If Rayn did not count it clearly, he would remind him to count it in person in the future.

After all, money was something that could only be counted in front of both parties.

So that there would be no bad things happening in the future.

"Then I will have to trouble Mr. Bartello."

Rayn casually hung the bag on his waist and turned to Bartello with a faint smile.

"Hehe, no trouble, no trouble."

It was rare to find a young person who he liked and was willing to learn from. Bartello quickly waved his hand.

"Then we will take our leave first."

Nodding lightly, Rayn did not stay any longer and led Kanna towards the guild.

"Makarov found a good kid this time."

Behind him, Bartello watched the two figures, thinking to himself.

Compared to his doubts in the morning, his mentality was completely opposite now.

Then he also turned and returned to the house to deal with the herbs.

"Thirty thousand J. I'll keep ten thousand for use, and the rest can be returned to the master first."

"This mission has roughly tested my current limits, so I can be more open when accepting missions in the future."

"I just don't know if there are any other suitable missions."

On the way back, Rayn calculated in his heart.

Reality was not a game, after all. There were no missions that could be refreshed continuously.

If there were no suitable missions, he could only stay in the guild to pass the time.

This was why Wakaba and the others were often in the guild.

But if he was going on a mission, it was normal to disappear for a while.

For example, the top wizard in the original story, Gildarts.

Rayn had not seen him since he entered the guild.

He heard from the master that he had gone to complete an S-rank mission, but according to the time, he should have been back long ago.

If he had not returned, he was probably fooling around somewhere.

The latter words were only spoken in a low voice by Makarov.

But they were heard by Kanna, and she later asked Rayn curiously what it meant.

To this, Rayn could only vaguely prevaricate Kanna.

"I hope there are still some good missions left. If not, I'll wait until tomorrow to see if there are any new missions before deciding."

Although Rayn would not be too picky about micro-investments because he wanted to repay the master's money, it would naturally be best to find a relaxed and well-paid request.

Seeing that Rayn was thinking about something, Kanna was very well-behaved and did not disturb him.

Her small feet followed the cracks in the stones to lead the way.

"Are you serious? I can't even deal with that thing!?"

"You're exaggerating, aren't you? That child looks very gentle."

"That's right, Wakaba, you're not joking, are you?"

"Of course it's true. Why would I lie to you?"

"Then Laxus will have a good show when he gets back. He's been enduring for a long time."

His mind was constantly thinking until the noisy sound rang in his ears.

Only then did Rayn realize that he had returned to the guild without knowing it.

But what made Rayn strange was.

When he stepped into the guild, the noisy sound suddenly became quiet, and pairs of eyes looked towards the door.

The gaze was filled with surprise, disbelief, and a complex look of incredulity.

"?"

Blinking his eyes, Rayn subconsciously looked behind him.

But he found that there was no one behind him.

He looked back at the members who had withdrawn their gazes but were still looking at him from time to time.

"What's wrong with you?"

With doubts in his heart, Rayn pulled Kanna and walked in.

"Nothing, nothing. We were just betting on who would come back first. Wakaba lost to all of us alone."

Macao explained with a calm smile.

The others immediately looked at him with surprise.

Then they came to their senses and their gazes fell on Wakaba.

"You bastards!"

Wakaba, who was originally glaring at Macao, immediately looked at everyone and replied with his lips.

"You don't want Rayn to know that you were following him, do you?"

Enduring his rival's angry gaze, Macao replied with his lips.

"…Damn it!"

Recalling the result of the Moonlight Bear being smashed into the mountain wall, Wakaba suddenly felt a little scared.

If Rayn found out, would he be beaten up?

On second thought, he had accepted the master's mission, so he could just ask the master to reimburse him!

With this thought, Wakaba directly replied with his eyes.

"You win!"

"Rayn, how did the mission go?"

Makarov was still sitting behind the bar, looking at Rayn with a smile.

"Yes, it's over."

The master's words interrupted Rayn's thoughts, so he began to register the end of the mission.

"By the way, I'll return twenty thousand J to you first, master."

Seeing that Makarov had finished registering, Rayn took out a bag from his waist.

"Not now. Let's do it together later. Make sure you have enough for your own use first."

Makarov reached out and stopped Rayn's action.

He was not short of this money, so he was not in a hurry to let Rayn pay it back so quickly.

"I'll feel better if I pay it back."

Avoiding Makarov's action, Rayn said seriously.

He was the type who did not like to owe others. Now that he had the ability to repay, he would not delay.

"Alright then."

Feeling the young man's stubborn tone, Makarov shook his head and did not refuse anymore.

He casually took the money that Rayn had placed on the table and put it on the counter, seemingly asking unintentionally.

"Rayn, did you encounter anything on this mission?"

The members behind him immediately became spirited and pricked up their ears to listen carefully.

"I just encountered a magical beast."

Hearing the master's words and the feeling of being watched from behind, Rayn immediately understood.

No wonder these people were like this. It seemed to be because of the Moonlight Bear.

Rayn actually did not have much of a concept.

After all, at most, it was some magical beasts that he encountered by chance in the East Forest.

And that place was where Porlyusica lived in seclusion, so the strength of the magical beasts would naturally not be too strong.

So Rayn just felt that the Moonlight Bear was a bit difficult to deal with, and did not have any other thoughts.

Now, from the reactions of the crowd.

Rayn realized that the bear was not so easy to deal with.
