Chapter 11 - Agricultural Domain

Liu Wei proceeded to the Farmer's Shed to search for tools and seeds to finally plant on the crop.

He was a bit excited.

He was not a farmer.

His family owned a corporation and they expected him to inherit it.

They forced him to learn about the business world and how they operate.

Even then, he was a book lover and since he was an empathetic person, he took care of the book where the characters and knowledge lived.

He loved both fiction and non-fiction books.

He once read a fiction, where the main character learned about cultivating plants.

Now that he was given the opportunity to learn about agriculture to which he only read in some books, he could not help but be filled with excitement.

The Farmer's Shed was a modest wooden building near the edge of the Agricultural Domain, where he could only have access at the moment.

From the materials used to build it, it was made out of bamboo and pine.

The moment Liu Wei grabbed the doorknob, twisted it, and opened what was inside, he immediately compared the size to the Alchemy Domain.

It was pretty much the same size.

When he entered, he was filled with awe.

Thankfully, as he swept his gaze inside the room, there were floating texts on each object to determine what they were.

As he was reading all the objects in the Tools and Implements Area, he mumbled nonstop.

"Spirit-Iron Hoe. It loosens the soil without damaging the root formations.

Qi-Edge Sickle. It is sharp enough to cleanly cut the plants without fraying stems.

Bamboo Rake. It is used to level soil and spread compost evenly.

…"

It took him a minute to read all the texts, which not only provide the name of the tools but it included the description, as well.

Then, he spent another minute mumbling texts in the Seed and Sapling Storage Area.

"Clay Jars with Preservation Seals. They keep already harvested, perishable crops fresh until use.

Labeled Bamboo Boxes. They store the dry seeds meant for immediate planting or next-season sowing.

Moisture-Control Shelf. For sprouting seedlings in controlled humidity."

Then, in the Labeled Bamboo Boxes, which arranged themselves in a human size cabinet, contained all the seeds to be planted.

He mumbled, "Verdant Rice. A pale-green rice that carries faint qi, making even a mortal's meal nourishing. Soft texture, fragrant, and stores well.

Scarletroot Carrot. Blood-red carrot rich in qi; boiled into stamina soups.

Jade Radish. Crisp, sweet, and slightly cooling; detoxifies the body and aids digestion.

Moonpear. Silvery-white pears that moisten the lungs and soothe the throat; popular among singers and storytellers.

Thousand-Day Peach. Golden-pink peaches that stay fresh for up to three years; mild qi replenishment.

Wait… peach and pear… they are fruit trees. Fruit trees are not planted in the crops. Did I miss a section where trees can be planted?"

As though hearing his mumbling filled with pondering at the later part, the System replied.

[Obviously. An Agricultural Domain, even in the basic level, can't be completed without a small orchard section. At the very least, it enables you to plant fifteen trees with its size.

They are located a bit far from the main 1 acre plot, to avoid their canopy from blocking the sunlight for the vegetables and grains.]

Liu Wei nodded and thanked the System for clarifying his doubts.

He then proceeded to read and familiarize all the objects inside the Farmer's Shed.

It included the Fertilizers and Growth Aids.

As well as the Maintenance and Repair Supplies.

Lastly, the Work Area, which was a shaded corner inside the Farmer's Shed, was organized so one person could handle all essential tasks without leaving the space.

In other words, even at the basic level, the Agricultural Domain all had the essential for him to finally start cultivating plants.

Furthermore, it might be the only place where every farmer sought.

After all, it has Spirit Herb Gardens, where time flows differently to accelerate growth.

Farming plots with formation-enhanced soil (adjustable attributes: fire-nourished, yin-water fed, etc.).

Spiritual weather systems for various crops (lightning rain for thunder herbs, moonlight for yin grass).

And more.

All Liu Wei had to do was to start.

However, he also felt lost where to begin.

After all, from the tools and the seeds, all the way to the weather and more, it was new to him.

In other words, he has to rely on the System now.

Without hesitation, as he grabbed the Spirit-Iron Hoe, having information that it was the tool that would begin cultivating plants, he shamelessly asked the System.

"System, can you give me an idea of what to do?"

The System quickly replied.

[Sure. I'll tell you what you have to do and leave the rest to me.]

Liu Wei nodded and replied, "Please do. Thank you in advance."

[No worries. Alright. You have to first understand the basic planting cycle.

It is divided into five phases.

The first phase is the Plot Preparation Phase.

The goal is to ready the soil for planting.

So, what you have to do is use Spirit-Hoe to loosen the ground.

Then, spread Compost Barrel fertilizer contents evenly.

Then, lightly water with Spirit Well water to activate compost microbes.

You can then add Bone Ash fertilizer only if you plant fruit plants and grains.

The best seeds to plant are Verdant Rice, Scarletroot Carrot, Emerald Jade Cabbage, Moonpear, and Thousand-Day Peach.

Don't forget to not only include the crops but the orchard section, alright?]

Liu Wei nodded.

The System continued.

[Before we proceed to the Phase 2, begin the Phase 1 now.]

Liu Wei nodded with a solemn expression as he pressed his hand shaped into a knife on his forehead and said, "Roger that."

Without hesitation, Liu Wei proceeded to the barrel, grabbed the seeds to be planted as mentioned by the System, and went outside with a sickle being placed on his shoulder.

Liu Wei spent the whole day completing the first phase.

He was now half-naked filled with sweat.

He wiped the sweat on his forehead with his right arm as his hands were being wrapped with gloves as the right hand held the sickle.

He glanced at the Sun above him, which did not move at the slightest.

He was amazed.

"At the very least, the heat doesn't seem to harm me. On the contrary, I feel my blood boil more. How mysterious this realm is."
