The next day, the glass door slides open as Dominic steps to the lobby of Ace Industries. He's dressed in a dark tailored suit that fits his frame perfectly, his dark hair slightly slicked back. He walks in, he offers slight nod of acknowledgement to the receptionist. He was already feeling the weight of another long day of meetings and contracts.
Ace industries is a High-Tech Security and Defense corporation. It is a legitimate business, yes. But it's also a shell – one of the fronts used to shield his true identity and protect his pack. And as a top tier security industry, this serves as an advantage to track down rouges and protect his pack. Dominic also made sure some of the pack members also worked in the company among humans as a precaution.
Dominic walks into his office, "Good Morning Sir" his secretary greets before he walks in.
"Good Morning Chloe," he greets back. She was dress yet again in a tight fitted dress that slightly shows her cleavage, not enough to receive a complaint but open enough to grab male attention.
She has been trying to get Dominic's attention for months now, but to no avail. He didn't even spare her a glance. If she hadn't been good at her job, she would be working elsewhere by now.
Dominic gets to his office, and has a seat.
He began to look at some flies when a knock came from the door. "Come in," he says. Chloe walks in, "Sir you have a meeting by 10am with the senior staffs about some incident reports, and they want to discuss a response strategy"
Without looking up, Dominic asks "Is that all for today."
"No sir, you have another meeting with some government officials by 2pm, they want to innovate our security into their systems and talk about the defense capabilities."
"Okay, thank you." He responded bluntly.
Chloe nodded her head and stepped out of his office.
After a few minutes, another knock came. Letting out an internal sigh, "Come in."
Aiden walked in while holding some files, "So we've fixed and upgraded Pack security, we also have wolves on patrol at all times, but we have a slight problem"
"And what's that?"
"We weren't able to find any signs of anyone being on the grounds, so we don't know if we are being watched on the inside. But about a mile outside the fence, we were able to pick up an unfamiliar scent and found a half broken pendant."
Aiden slid a photo of the broken pendant across the table to Dominic.
He looked at the picture and studied it intensely. Then looked back up at Aiden.
"This is the Moon pack's crest."
"Yes."
"They are overstepping boundaries," Dominic muttered. "This isn't just a warning. They are planning something - something big. We have to strike back before they make a move."
--------
By early afternoon, Dominic decides he need a breath of fresh air before his next meeting. He removes his tailored jacket and walks out. He excuses himself from the office. No one questions him. They never do.
He goes to a nearby exclusive café to get a cup of coffee, this isn't your regular every Starbucks. It was a exclusive suit where only members could go too and these members often included – executives, VIPS and wealthy clients. The café had a dark cozy vibe to it with deep green velvet chairs, bulletproof windows and servers that never question anything.
Dominic was escorted to a private booth where he had a seat, he ordered a cup of coffee and a few minutes into waiting, he felt like he was being watched.
He tilted his head up slightly to avoid being noticed, and he saw a man dress in all black outfit – dark sunglasses, a black cap and a black leather jacket. This man watching Dominic but had no idea that he had been spotted.
Dominic alerted Aiden over a text, the started to leave the café. He walked out the street but noticed the man had left the spot he was standing in. he looking around then finally saw in walking down amongst a crowd of people. He began going after him, but the man started running.
Dominic chased after him. He kept chasing him till he reached a dark valley. And the man had suddenly disappeared.
His inner wolf growls in anger.
"The man ran too fast for the normal human speed, so he's definitely a werewolf," Dominic thought to himself.
He kept walking although the trail had gone cold. He could pick up the stranger's scent anymore. Dominic then finds himself in front of a small bookstore"
Bell & Bloom Books – it reads
He didn't know what it was but something was pulling him in.
As Dominic pushes the door open, the brass bell rings and the scent hits him.
--------
Iris hurriedly ran around dressing up and getting ready.
"Why are you running around so much," Myla yawns
"I woke up so late I was supposed to be at the bookstore by 12pm to take over from peach but I slept in."
Peach was Iris's boss at the bookstore – a middle age old woman who loved books just about as much as Iris, she was very sweet although she doesn't like it when people aren't punctual.
"Oh, I'm sure she wouldn't be so mad, she loves you."
"I'll talk to you later. Bye." Iris says as she rushes out of the door.
Iris gets to the bookstore and sees peach attending to a customer. She walks to the back room to change into her work apron.
Peach walks in and was about to say something before Iris cuts her off.
"Peach I know what you are going to say and I'm so sorry. I stayed up late doing this school thing and ended up sleeping in."
Peach smiles, "It's fine Iris, Myla already called and gave me a heads up, I though you would even come in much later."
Iris calmed down and smiled as she thought about how Myla helped her out.
"Well since you're here, I have to go pick Jeremiah from kindergarten right now."
"That's fine, I'll see you later then. Bye."
"Bye Iris."

Later that afternoon, Iris was attending to a customer when she heard the door bell jingle. Letting her know that someone had walked in, although she didn't look up and kept to what she was doing.
After she was done with the customer she looks up to find this tall man looking at her from a distance.
He was very handsome but not in the usual way but in a dark way that almost makes her want to surrender herself to him. Tall. Sharp jawline. Dark eyes that you could drown in. And jet black hair she felt like running her fingers through.
He was dressed in a white button up shirt and tailored pants, he looked like he had just stepped out of the office.
He looked like someone who didn't belong here. He looked rich and powerful. And he had this aura to him that gave off exactly the same thing. He began lingering around making her think he was looking for something he couldn't find.
She walked up to him and smiles politely, "Good afternoon. Can I help you with find something?"
"no… I was just looking around." He says, his eyes not meeting hers pretending to scan the shelves.
Then he looked at her.
Iris felt like she was about to crumble, his eyes were so…intense – she thought.
Iris didn't know what it was but she felt some kind of way towards this complete stranger.
She felt….seen.
