Chapter 60 - Chapter 60: Absorbing Man vs Saitama

"Get angry, my son! Let your rage out! Show me your power!"

David Banner laughed maniacally.

Pressing his palm against the high-strength alloy wall, he suddenly tore a chunk free!

With a thunderous crash, Hulk was smashed to the ground.

The alloy melted rapidly, wrapping around him, binding him tightly—while draining away the Hulk's power!

"Fire! Fire!!"

The soldiers blocking the corridor shouted in panic.

Rat-a-tat-tat—

Bullets poured down.

But they had no effect on the old man turned lightning—David. Instead, he stomped hard on the ground.

The alloy panels surged like waves, tossing the soldiers into the air!

"See, my son? My ability is the true ultimate power! But I'm curious about that other little guy… he seems… even better than you."

David Banner lifted his head, looking through the shattered roof of the base toward the armed helicopters in the sky.

Onboard one of them—

General Ross watched the chaos below with his own eyes.

The Hulk, now unrestrained, was like a human tank, smashing through everything in his path!

"General, the Air Force squad has arrived, we'll—"

A soldier reported excitedly.

On the horizon, three fighter jets flew in a V formation, racing toward them.

From specks in the distance, they grew rapidly larger—

BOOM—

The soldier didn't even finish speaking before a blinding arc of lightning shot up from the base.

It moved faster than the eye could follow!

The lead fighter didn't even have time to evade before it was struck. The arc split into three streams—

All three jets exploded in brilliant fireballs.

Ross: "…"

Everyone who saw it froze in place.

Those… were three fighter jets worth $300 million each?!

A full squadron, wiped out in under a second?!

"Oh? Looks like you've got quite a mess on your hands," Saitama remarked, glancing down at the base below, now a storm of destruction.

The Hulk was rampaging across the ground, demolishing everything in sight—

—and his father, David Banner, now transformed into living lightning, had just swatted fighter jets out of the sky.

"This…"

Even the always-composed General Ross was stunned. He'd never faced a situation this dire—

—especially with his daughter Betty still inside the base.

Zzzzt—

A flash of light—David Banner, in his lightning form, shot toward them. With a flick of his hand, a lightning bolt as thick as an arm arced through the air, slamming into the helicopter.

Ross felt the world spin.

Through the blast's heat and smoke, he realized he was being held by the collar—by Saitama—on the way down.

"The big guy's yours. I'll deal with the old man."

Saitama set Ross down and immediately leapt toward the barren sand dunes in the distance.

His speed across the flat desert was like a Formula 1 car, leaving a long, swirling trail of dust behind him.

"Heh! No wonder you've got genes superior to Bruce's!"

"I can't wait to study their structure. But soon, they'll be mine! Hahaha!"

David Banner, lightning crackling over his form, laughed wildly in midair.

The so-called General Ross, the Gamma Research Base—none of it mattered anymore.

He was growing more comfortable with this terrifying power—

—and he knew his beloved son Bruce had been thoroughly beaten by the bald-headed Saitama.

Electric arcs blazed as he chased forward.

Ross, now back on the ground, quickly ordered tanks and air support to surround and subdue the rampaging Hulk.

"You can't run, baldy!"

Fueled by the electricity he'd absorbed, David Banner was incredibly fast—just slightly quicker than Saitama's steady, short-legged jog.

In less than a minute—

They were a hundred kilometers away from the base, in the middle of the empty desert.

No one around.

Perfect for a fight.

"What's this? You stopped? Out of breath? Heh heh."

David sneered, seeing Saitama halt.

Saitama stared at him without expression.

His eyes focused—and suddenly, information flashed across his vision.

"What are you mumbling about? Stand still for me—hahaha!" David roared with laughter.

"Oh, I was just thinking… with a Justice Value of -5, I should be allowed to kill you, right?" Saitama said, scratching his head.
