"This… something isn't right!"
Gamora groaned, helping the half-conscious Quill off the ground.
While Saitama was gone, Ego had revealed his true ambition, suspending Quill in midair and draining him of energy until he was nearly dead.
"Saitama?!"
Seeing the bald man return, Quill finally exhaled in relief.
At first he had doubted Ego, but once he felt the intoxicating rush of Celestial power, he lost himself completely. Without Gamora and Drax breaking him free, he would still be dangling in the air, chest pierced by an energy beam, fueling Ego as a living battery.
At the center of the hall, Ego turned his gaze toward Saitama.
"Heheheh… To be honest, more than my son Quill, I've always had my eye on you. Just moments ago, you teleported thousands of kilometers away. Incredible. A human body possessing speed beyond the Celestials."
Ego's blue-lit eyes sparkled as he studied him.
"Go, Saitama! He's the master of this planet — we can't beat him!"
Gamora cried.
But before she could move, a glowing blue tendril rose from the ground, wrapped around her, and slammed her into the floor, knocking her unconscious.
"No! You liar!!"
Quill roared and lunged forward — only to be impaled through the chest by another energy tendril. He was lifted into the air like a skewered doll, powerless to resist.
"See? This is the power of a Celestial. On this planet, and on countless others, I am God. Mortals can never rival gods. Do you understand now, weakling?"
Ego smiled cruelly, arcs of blue lightning dancing around his form.
Quill, with half-Celestial blood, could double Ego's strength. To Ego, who already had power like an ocean, this was like adding wings to a tiger.
"I'm curious about you. You're full of secrets. But none of that matters. Once I devour you, all of it will be mine — your memories, your talents, everything."
Ego's voice was calm as he stepped toward Saitama, the ground cracking beneath his feet.
"I'm going to solo this boss! Cheer for me!"
Drax howled with excitement, pulling out his tiny knives.
Mantis looked on nervously, wringing her hands.
Squelch!
Drax didn't even make it three steps before an energy spike skewered him and nailed him to a wall.
"Drax?!"
Mantis cried out, trying to rush over, but the ground twisted like roots beneath her, tendrils binding her tight.
"Sleep, sleep!"
Her antennae flared, releasing psychic ripples. Ego's expression contorted. His eyes slowly closed.
"I can make him sleep, but I don't know for how long! Saitama, hurry—"
BOOM!
Before she could finish, Ego's eyes snapped open, furious and twisted.
"You too… betraying me?! Hahahaha!"
Tendrils surged, engulfing Mantis completely.
At the same time, the floor erupted like a tidal wave, surging dozens of meters high, crashing down on Saitama.
"I know this won't hurt you… but here, on my planet, you can't win!"
Ego roared. Energy tendrils shot from every direction, piercing and binding.
In an instant, Saitama was buried beneath a storm of earth and light.
"But I have time. Once I swallow you and bury you in my planet's core, I'll slowly consume you. Everything will be mine!"
Ego laughed triumphantly.
The Celestials — born supreme. Even if they did nothing, their adult forms wielded terrifying power. To them, humans were livestock.
"By your logic, Celestials aren't human at all, huh?"
A voice murmured faintly from beneath the ground.
"What?!"
Ego stiffened.
RUMBLE…
The earth split open. Blue energy shattered like glass.
A shiny bald head emerged. Yellow jumpsuit. White cape.
Saitama crawled casually out of the soil, snapping apart energy pillars with ease. His dead-fish eyes lifted toward the so-called god.
A system prompt flickered before him:
Name: Ego
Race: Celestial
Intelligence: 7
Strength: 7
Speed: 7
Durability: 7
Energy Projection: 7
Combat Skill: 7
Justice Value: -3
Note: A rare Celestial of the Marvel universe. Can consume planets endlessly to grow stronger. Nearly immortal.
The stats were terrifying — all near maximum. One of the top beings in the Marvel cosmos, alongside Dormammu, Odin, and the Ancient One.
But Saitama… didn't look impressed.
Ego smirked. "Humans? No, Celestials are far above. But I enjoy this form… only as a weakling can you truly savor the universe."
The ground beneath his feet surged, wrapping him in stone. In moments, Ego transformed into a thirty-meter granite giant, glowing with blue veins of energy.
"See this? I wield the power of the entire planet. Even one casual punch carries the force of a world! Can you withstand it, human?"
The granite colossus clenched his fist and smashed it down toward Saitama.
The very air cracked, layers of space shattering beneath the blow.
