Chapter 477 - Chapter 477

In Saitama's mind, the Cybertronian race that had once held the human world in the palm of their metal hands should have been able to defeat a giant ape like Kong with ease.

But now, it was clear that Kong's strength had far exceeded his expectations.

Just what kind of power had transformed Kong, reforging him into something this terrifying?

At least from Saitama's perspective, Kong was already much stronger than when he'd seen him back on Skull Island.

Saitama stood in front of Kong and finally began to move.

If he didn't take action now, the ordinary people behind him would be in real danger.

As a hero, that was absolutely unacceptable.

And besides, as the protagonist of a world of heroes, saving these ordinary people would raise his reputation—boosting his strength in the process.

Right before everyone's eyes, Saitama suddenly shot forward.

The crowd stared, unblinking, at the scene unfolding before them.

Every punch Saitama threw forced Kong back step by step. The enraged Kong, unable to vent his fury on Saitama, could only smash the cars lining the sidewalk.

Their exchange grew faster and fiercer, until Saitama eventually drove Kong up onto the top of a skyscraper.

The classic scene—Kong fighting atop a towering building—played out once more.

Only this time, his opponent was no longer the U.S. military's planes. It was Saitama himself.

"Speaking of which, where are those U.S. fighter jets? Something this big happening right next to a downtown theater—there's no way the military hasn't heard about it," Saitama thought to himself, even as he kept swinging at Kong.

Meanwhile, in the White House.

Trump had just finished discussing the defense budget with members of Congress. He was about to pick up a hamburger and dig in when his phone rang—it was a call from Ivanka.

Trump said, "Come on, Ivanka, how many times have I told you not to call me when I'm eating?"

"Dad, something's happened. Something huge!" Ivanka shouted.

"What happened?"

"Saitama is fighting Kong on top of a skyscraper!"

The moment Trump heard that, his hand shook and the hamburger almost slipped to the floor.

"Kong is back again?! Oh my god—get me the leaders of the Five Great Powers, now!"

Just then, a live news broadcast cut in from the White House media room. Across the entire United States, TV channels switched over to footage of Saitama's battle.

There he was again—that figure in the beige coat and red cape, Saitama's silhouette blazing across every corner of America.

"Whoa, this time his opponent is a giant ape!"

"There's a gorilla that big in this world? Don't tell me someone's been secretly doing gene experiments and created some kind of horrifying weapon?"

"It's Superman!"

"Big Brother Saitama is amazing!"

In every corner of the U.S., voices rose in excitement and disbelief.

But without exception, all of them were marveling at Saitama's power.

Saitama really was too strong.

So strong that people could only look up to him—and he had already become the idol in the hearts of the American people.

At the same time, all over the world…

"My god, something abnormal is happening in the U.S. again! There's a giant ape fighting one of our human heroes!"

"An ape?"

"…That's not scientific at all."

After a brief delay, the footage of Saitama and Kong's fight spread across the entire globe.

Down on the street, Vivian looked up at the skyscraper with starry eyes, her face full of adoration.

"Saitama…" she whispered.

Very soon, fighter jets from the military forces of the Five Great Powers arrived at the edges of the skyscraper, answering the emergency call.

Even Hollywood blockbuster studios in America sent up civilian aircraft to film from a distance.

After all, this was a once-in-a-generation, real-life, phenomenon-level blockbuster unfolding right before everyone's eyes.

Saitama and Kong traded blows for a long time atop the skyscraper, back and forth, before Saitama finally started to get serious.

By now, he had confirmed that this Kong really was the same one he'd encountered on Skull Island.

The reason Kong had suddenly powered up was simply because he'd seen Saitama's figure appear in the city center.

"Heaven help me… do I really offend him that much just by existing?" Saitama thought.

Standing at the top of the skyscraper, Saitama called out to him:

"Kong, I'm going to get serious now. Whether you can take my punch or not… that's up to you."

As he spoke, Saitama launched himself forward again.

Boom!

The instant he moved, the shockwave he created blasted out like a ring of crashing waves.

The planes that had been hovering in midair almost lost control of their altitude to the shockwave, narrowly avoiding a chain of midair collisions.

Kong felt the danger immediately.

He crossed his massive arms over his chest, trying to block Saitama with brute force.

Boom!

Another deafening impact.

Kong was knocked clean off the kilometer-high skyscraper by Saitama's blow.

In that moment, a flicker of fear finally appeared in Kong's eyes.

Throughout his nearly invincible life, he had never met an opponent like Saitama. And now he was being sent plummeting from a height of a thousand meters.

Was he going to die from the fall?

A single tear slipped from the corner of Kong's eye. His desperate will to live erupted into a new burst of power.

In a split second, he managed to seize the midsection of the skyscraper, forcefully halting his fall.

Squeak—

Crack—

Under the immense pulling force, the kilometer-tall skyscraper in the city center began to twist, and right before everyone's eyes, it snapped in the middle.

"Oh my god! The whole building is going to collapse!"

The ordinary people trapped inside the skyscraper screamed at their impending doom—only to see Saitama grab one corner of the building's upper half and set it down onto a neighboring skyscraper.

In just a moment, the trend toward a full collapse came to a halt.

Phew. That was close.

But one crisis ended only for another to begin.

Saitama's action of repositioning the upper half of the building gave Kong an opening.

Kong dropped down onto the horizontal midsection of the broken skyscraper.

Using it like a tree branch, he charged straight toward Saitama.

"Kong's fighting instincts are really something," Saitama thought, as a battle-hardened warrior. In just a brief exchange of misaligned positions, he had felt Kong's overwhelming fighting spirit.

For a moment, he couldn't help but feel that this wild, instinct-driven combat style might truly be the core source of Kong's terrifying power.

"If I let you keep this up, this whole city is going to be smashed to rubble."

Saitama steadied himself and decided to use his Serious Punch on Kong.

After passing through the Transformers world and clearing the Skull Island dungeon, even he wasn't sure how powerful his Serious Punch had become.

But the Kong in front of him was clearly tough enough to withstand it—so Saitama chose to test it on him.

One Serious Punch.

Two Serious Punches.

Three Serious Punches.

All the onlookers could see was that the Kong who had just been fighting Saitama evenly was once again reduced to a mere gorilla toy in Saitama's hands.

Saitama battered him from the sky all the way down toward the ground.

With a final, earth-shaking punch, he smashed Kong straight into the earth.

Boom!

The impact gouged out a crater in the ground the size of a meteor strike.

The outcome of the battle between Saitama and Kong was finally decided.

In that instant, people all over the world were left completely speechless.

"Saitama is just too strong!"
