Chapter 484 - Chapter 484

In the future's war-torn battlefield, humanity's leader had already dispatched a man named Kyle back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor.

What he could never have imagined was that, at this very moment in 1984, several other travelers from the future were converging on the same point in time—Saitama, the Governor-model T-100 robot, and more.

Saitama had come from the year 2020.

The Governor-model T-100 had come from an even more distant future.

Once these three all gathered in the same era, things were guaranteed to get… interesting.

Anyone who wanted to scheme against the others would need as much information as possible.

Right now, Saitama didn't know where Kyle was.

He also didn't know the Governor's exact location.

But he wasn't nervous at all.

Because he had confidence.

And for a man, confidence was very important.

When Saitama's lips curled into a faint, confident smile, Vivian beside him felt that confidence rub off on her.

"Saitama," she asked, "why do you suddenly look so excited? Don't tell me… you already knew we'd ride a time machine to get here?"

"Not exactly," Saitama replied. "All I knew was that this time machine would definitely end up doing what it was meant to do."

Without realizing it, Saitama had grown even more mysterious in Vivian's eyes.

But Vivian no longer wanted to peel back every hidden layer.

To her, Saitama felt like a treasure hoard—if she uncovered it all at once, the magic would vanish. Discovering it bit by bit just made her love this man more.

Saitama looked ahead at the Gist Café.

"Vivian," he said, "since we're already here, why don't we go in and grab a coffee first?"

Vivian happily agreed.

She was that kind of woman: as long as it was her man asking, she would say yes, no matter when.

Saitama and Vivian pushed open the door—

And immediately noticed the strange looks from the people inside.

The looks were the kind reserved for something that didn't quite fit social norms—like staring at some rare, exotic species.

But those gazes didn't last long.

This was, after all, an era of openness, a time when young people were all about being unconventional.

They'd seen plenty of "fashion rebels" trying to stand out with weird clothes, just to attract more attention.

"Hey, who hasn't been young?" someone thought. "At our age, we probably did things just as weird."

Vivian went to the counter, ordered two coffees, and then headed for their seats.

Just then, a crack of thunder exploded outside the café.

Kra-kow!

The customers all jumped in surprise.

They watched in shock as a man stepped out of the crackling lightning itself.

If this had been a typical Hollywood blockbuster, the scene would've come with dramatic hero music swelling in the background.

But this was a "real" sci-fi version of 1984.

Unless Saitama personally felt like providing the soundtrack, nobody else was getting any built-in BGM.

Vivian glanced at the man emerging from the lightning and froze.

"Oh my god," she gasped. "Isn't that the guy we just saw back in Beverly Hills…?"

The moment she mentioned Beverly Hills, several people in the café shot them surprised looks.

Because no matter the era—whether 1984 or Saitama's 2020—Beverly Hills was a place only the wealthy could afford to live.

All of a sudden, everyone silently came up with an explanation for Saitama and Vivian's unusual appearance.

No wonder they were dressed so differently from normal folks—it was "rich person fashion."

Clearly, these were rich people slumming it downtown to "experience the life of commoners."

While they sighed over how the wealthy lived, every pair of curious eyes turned to the lightning-struck man outside.

"What kind of body do you need to look like that?" someone muttered.

The last time the Governor-model T-100 robot had time-traveled in, the only one to witness him at the very start had been Saitama.

Now, not only Saitama but everyone in the café saw his grand entrance.

"Does he always show up this dramatically?" Vivian whispered.

"You bet," Saitama said.

He didn't say much more—because he knew the Governor-model T-100's next move was coming.

The robot needed clothes.

He would look around the area for something to wear.

If he found someone whose build matched his requirements, he'd force that person to strip and hand over their clothes.

If they refused… he'd kill them.

Overbearing didn't even begin to cover it.

But what Saitama hadn't expected was that the first person the Governor noticed after walking into the café…

Was him.

"You," the Governor said, staring at Saitama. "Take off your clothes."

"…" Saitama blinked.

"You," the Governor repeated, "take off your clothes."

"Give me a reason," Saitama said calmly.

The Governor thought about it.

"A reason? I need them."

"Sorry," Saitama shook his head. "I need them too."

Their gazes locked.

A fight seemed ready to burst forth at any second.

Saitama and the T-100 Governor instantly became the focus of the entire café.

At that moment, a nervous waitress slipped a folded set of clothes into Vivian's hands.

"Miss," she whispered, "this is one of our spare uniforms. Maybe… maybe your boyfriend could give these to that guy?"

Vivian couldn't help but admire how pure the thinking in this era was.

People who hadn't yet been beaten down by life really had no idea what kind of monsters wandered their world.

Still, to be fair…

The waitress's suggestion wasn't bad at all.

After all—who here had ever seen the Governor wearing a café uniform?

Vivian walked forward and tossed the clothes at the Governor-model robot.

"Here," she said. "You deal with it yourself."

As she spoke, she couldn't help sneaking another glance at the pixelated region that had been censored on the Governor's body.

Once again, she silently concluded:

Saitama was still more impressive.

For some reason, the Governor looked at Vivian, then at Saitama…

And, without knowing why, accepted Vivian's proposal.

One minute later—

The Governor had transformed into the world's strangest café employee.

"Hmph," he grunted. "I… will… be… back."

He swept a cold gaze over everyone, then walked out the door.

The whole café exhaled in relief.

In their minds, a huge guy like that could only have been picking a fight because he'd taken a fancy to Saitama's clothes—or to the beautiful woman at his side.

They had no idea what the Governor had really meant when he said, "I will be back."

Saitama tugged Vivian's hand.

"Vivian, go find somewhere to hide for now," he said quietly. "That guy is definitely coming back."

"Just because he said 'I will be back'?" Vivian asked.

But before she could finish processing it—

A sudden gunshot ripped through the air, making her jump.

The Governor, who had just promised he'd return, had indeed come back.
