Chapter 487 - Chapter 487

Under Saitama's urging, young Trump quickly got the job done.

Because he had played the role of a liaison hub between Saitama and Sector Seven, he naturally became a person of importance in Sector Seven's eyes.

Saitama couldn't help thinking, "Judging from how things were in 1984, young Trump wasn't valued by the U.S. government at all. Could it be that helping me handle this matter is what laid the groundwork for his future political career?"

Of course, that was just something Saitama imagined to kill time while they waited for Andrew from Sector Seven to arrive.

Before long, Andrew showed up with two men in black suits. The first thing he said when he walked in was, "Sir, if you don't explain what's going on, you're in big trouble, you know that?"

The Governor's first instinct when he heard that was to put a bullet in him.

But right now, they were the ones asking for help. No matter what, they couldn't afford to be too forceful.

Saitama nodded to the Governor. Everything would proceed according to their original plan.

"Bzzzzzt…"

The Governor typed a string of instructions into the time machine. Not long after, a bolt of blue lightning flashed in front of everyone.

Andrew and his men were shocked.

From inside the field stepped out a mechanical skeleton with no trace of human skin covering it.

Andrew blurted, "My God! What kind of monster is that?!"

Click, click.

The two men behind Andrew loaded their guns and opened fire at the metal skeleton.

But the bullets hit home without causing the slightest reaction.

The mechanical skeleton tilted its head, looked at the Governor, and spoke.

"I received your message, T100. These humans with a combat power of only 5 are the opponents you mentioned?"

Andrew's face went from green to white in an instant.

As the boss of Sector Seven, he had just been described as having a combat power of only 5!

At that moment, he suddenly remembered what Saitama and the others had said before he came here.

Andrew thought, "Mama mia… these robots, they're really time travelers from the future, aren't they? Has the future already been taken over by robots?"

Andrew turned his gaze toward Saitama and the others. "Then how did these people get here? Don't tell me they're mechanical skeletons too!"

While Andrew was still in shock, the Governor raised his gun and shot the mechanical skeleton, blasting it half to pieces.

Saitama rushed forward immediately and twisted its head clean off.

Right then, a line of text popped up in Saitama's system.

"Monster Kill +1."

Saitama understood instantly.

It looked like the system had set this mission up using the classic "Monster Siege" template. As long as he killed one robot from the future, he would gain one attribute point.

Seeing the robot lying in pieces on the ground, Andrew stared, still shaken.

"These two killed that metal skeleton without even hesitating. Looks like what they said about their purpose here was true after all…"

Without wasting another moment, Andrew rushed to direct his subordinates.

He had them unload the electromagnetic equipment they had prepared from the vehicles.

"You, and you—hurry up and assemble it!"

"And you, go inform the U.S. Provisional Combat Test Department. Tell them to contact the power company and make sure they prepare enough electricity!"

Faced with such an unprecedented situation, Andrew decided to go big.

He dared to bet that if he really pulled this off, Sector Seven would become a department of pivotal importance in the future.

Time ticked by, minute after minute.

Saitama and the Governor quickly took care of every robot that arrived after receiving the time machine's signal.

On-site, more and more mechanical skeleton corpses piled up.

During a lull when the robots had all been knocked down, one staffer, unable to resist his curiosity, picked up a mechanical skeleton to take a closer look—only to be scared out of his wits when its red eyes suddenly lit up.

When he tried to throw it away, the half-broken skeleton grabbed his leg. The poor guy was so terrified he wet his pants on the spot.

Everyone: "..."

Andrew's face burned with embarrassment. He immediately ordered someone to drag that disgrace of a staffer to the back.

He wasn't to come back until he'd cleaned himself up.

Soon after—

Another batch of mechanical skeletons arrived on the scene.

This was the first relatively large group of robots Saitama and the others had to face.

According to the intel these robots carried, they had noticed that one mechanical skeleton after another was receiving T100's signal, returning to the 1984 time point… and then vanishing from the network entirely.

They had submitted this abnormal situation to the Machine Command Headquarters, and then came here leading a squad.

The moment they arrived, the first thing they saw was Saitama, the Governor, and a large group of humans.

Instantly, they realized one crucial fact—

T100 had been captured and turned by the humans.

The leader's eyes glowed a menacing red.

"Since T100 failed to complete the mission of killing Sarah Connor, it has no reason to exist."

A deep, mechanical chorus followed.

"No reason to exist—must be destroyed."

Rumble, rumble.

The machine army launched its offensive against humanity at the 1984 time point.

But they had overlooked one thing.

They had ignored Saitama's existence.

And because of that, their defeat was already decided.

Boom.

Boom.

The Governor, wearing his sunglasses, raised his shotgun and blasted back the charging mechanical skeletons again and again.

But very soon, he was swallowed up by the metal tide.

On the other side, Andrew was already regretting his rash decision.

"Where did these monsters come from?! Oh my God, I swear, if these things ever show up in the human world, it'll throw the whole planet into panic!"

He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. "I think our top priority right now is to get photos of these robots and hand them over to the National Security Department!"

Yet in the next moment, he saw a figure in a beige coat with a fluttering red cape on his back.

Boom. Boom. Boom.

That figure—Saitama—flattened a mechanical skeleton with every punch.

Wherever he went, nothing could stand in his way.

Andrew had just made up his mind to run for it. Before he could actually move his feet, the skeleton army that was supposed to become a massive threat to the human world was already lying in pieces all over the ground.

Saitama walked up to Andrew and patted him on the shoulder.

"Andrew, I'm going to trouble you to find some large industrial equipment and crush all these robots flat."

Andrew asked cautiously, "Can I… keep a few as samples?"

Saitama said, "Sure. But be careful. A much larger force is already on its way here."

Andrew was stunned speechless.

Only now did he fully realize that everything Saitama had said might very well be true.

If things really were as Saitama claimed, then in the future, humanity might already have been wiped out.

Oh, right.

He'd just heard one of the robots mention someone called Sarah Connor.

Who was Sarah Connor?
