Chapter 865 - Chapter 865

"Your blood might have a special flavor of its own." Viktor leaned closer, baring sharp fangs, his eyes glinting with bloodlust. Blade struggled with all his strength, but the suffocating pressure kept crashing in, and his vision began to blur.

At that critical moment, a slightly confused voice came from the broken doorway of the hall.

"Uh… excuse me, is this a tourist spot? I didn't see anywhere to buy tickets at the entrance."

Viktor and Blade turned their heads at the same time. A bald man in a plain jacket stood there, curiously looking around at the scene in the hall, like a tourist who'd wandered into the wrong place. It was Saitama, passing through thanks to a "super cheap ten-day Eastern Europe tour." That night in the village he'd heard scary stories about the castle and the recent disappearances, figured there might be a monster causing trouble, and decided to swing by and take a look.

Lord Viktor frowned hard. Where did this clueless mortal come from? He was about to order the thralls lurking in the shadows to deal with this bug interrupting his meal, when the bald man glanced at Blade then at Viktor's exposed fangs, and went "Oh," like he finally got it.

"So you're the vampire. Going around biting people at night instead of sleeping is pretty bad."

Saitama's eyes swept across the hall and landed on a long table to the side. On it were rotted food and dusty silver tableware, and among them was an ornate silver candlestick about half a meter tall.

Viktor was stunned by the nonsense for a beat—then flew into a rage. "Lowly human, you—!"

Before he could finish, Saitama casually picked up the silver candlestick and weighed it in his hand, like he was checking whether it felt right. Then, like tossing a rock, he threw it at Lord Viktor.

The motion was relaxed and easy—no aiming, no wind-up.

But the silver candlestick shot out like a cannon round, turning into a streak of silver lightning. Moving far faster than Viktor could react, it struck with perfect precision straight into his chest.

"Pffft!"

A faint sound of metal piercing flesh.

Lord Viktor's words cut off instantly. He stared down in disbelief—the silver candlestick had plunged completely into the left side of his chest, punching through right where his heart was. The hand choking Blade lost all strength at once.

"No… im… pos… si… ble…" He forced out a few broken words, the arrogance on his face replaced by extreme terror and agony. For a vampire, having the heart pierced by pure silver was fatal.

The next second, starting from the wound, his body rapidly turned to ash—like paper catching fire—the effect spreading over him in an instant. In under two seconds, the vampire lord who had been so invincible a moment ago was reduced to a pile of ashes right in front of Blade, scattering into the air.

Only the silver candlestick remained, dropping to the floor with a loud "clang."

Blade crashed to the ground, clutching his throat as he coughed violently, greedily sucking in air. He lifted his head, eyes behind the sunglasses locked on the bald man in the doorway, his heart surging like a stormy sea.

What just happened?

That vampire lord he couldn't beat got one-shot by a passing tourist… with a candlestick Saitama casually picked up?

Saitama looked at the ash pile and patted his hands. "Yep. Silver works on vampires. Manga wasn't lying."

He walked up to Blade and held out a hand.

"You okay?"
