Chapter 2 - Moonlight Army Academy

------

"Finally! I will be out of here!" A young teen stated. His white hair flowing down to his neck, his bright blue eyes staring at a large picture hanging on a wall.

*KNOCK* *KNOCK*

"Hmmmmm! They're here!" He breathed out, 'I guess it's time to go!' he grabbed his bag and walked towards the door. He hesitated upon reaching it and glanced back. "I will be leaving now Mom and dad! I promise you, I will make you proud— and find out what actually happened to you that night five years ago!"

He then turned and immediately pulled on the door handle. Upon opening it, a fall man with short black hair blocked his view. He wore the normal uniform army personnel wore, but even that couldn't hide his explosive muscles.

"Are you Aria Reid?" He questioned, his voice form and strong.

"Yes, I am!"

The man looked him up and down, his face all scrunched up. Aria could instantly tell he was disgusted, but he had already grown used to these looks and attitudes directed at him.

It had already been five years since his parents death, and his life was instantly turned upside down. His house was destroyed five years ago, and the money his parents had kept was taken by the government under the implications that he was going to be in an orphanage. Hell he wasn't even wearing proper clothes currently, with patches tattered around it.

But could he really do anything at the time, he was still young, naive, and worst of all— weak. No one listened to the weak. Only the strong had a say in this world.

"Fine! Follow me!" The man stated as he walked towards his car, upon reaching the car, he opened the door and turned to look at Aria. His expression cold.

"Get in, peasant!"

'Rude bastard!' Aria thought with a small vein popping on his head. "Fine!" He answered, his arms raised in surrender as he got into the car and took a sit.

The car looked basic in the inside, other than the thin glass separating the driver seat from the passengers seat. 'what the hell is this glass for!' Aria knocked on the glass, his brows furrowing in confusion.

Suddenly, gas began to fill the car through the vents. Even though the army personnel was in the car with him, the gas was not affecting him at all due to the thin glass separating them.

"What the hell is going on?" Aria coughed up, trying to open the door but found it locked.

"Just fall asleep kid, the sooner the better! Or I will knock you out myself!"

Aria's eyes slowly opened and closed, his vision was slowly fading, 'Damn it! I am....losing... consciousn...'

"Hey! Wake up, goddamn it! Stop wasting my time!"

'What?' Aria questioned, his vision still a little bit blurry as his eyes slowly opened, he couldn't even make sense of what was being said. Suddenly a burning and sharp sensation hit his left cheek as a slap echoed.

"Wake up you stupid boy!"

"Argh! What the hell.... Was the slap necessary?" Aria retaliated, rubbing his now red cheek, fury burned in his eyes.

"Ohhh, shut up! If you can't handle a little slap, then how do you want to survive in the academy!"

As soon as he said those words, a shocked look crawled it's way unto Aria's face. He looked ahead and immediately saw the large metallic gates. Written body on top where just two words, Moonlight Army Academy.

"Wait.... Is this the academy?" He whispered, much to the army personnel's hearing.

"Stop asking me stupid questions and get in already!" The man answered, his face echoing with annoyance.

'This guy is really getting on my nerves.' Aria looked at the man, a visible vein popping on his head before he began walking towards the school gates.

"Wait! Take this!" The man called out as he tossed a transparent card to Aria. "Show the guard at the gate and they will show you the way to the exam hall."

Aria stared at the card and he could see basic information like his name, age and specialty. 'Every other information is filled except specialty. I guess they still haven't figure out what mine is.' he looked at the man's back as he walked towards his car before turning and proceeding to the gates.

The gates just here larger the more he drew closer. They where incredibly thick as well. It was built in such a way that no one was allowed to get in other than those who where permitted.

Upon reaching the school gates, he saw a woman standing at the school gate wearing the same army uniform as the man who picked him up. Written boldly on the top left was Officer Anna with three golden stars below it.

"Hmmmmm!" She turned immediately she sensed Aria's presence. "A student?"

He nodded his head and flashed the card in front of her.

"I see! You're here for the entrance exam?" She questioned, looking Aria up and down.

He nodded uncomfortably, the way she looked at him felt weird.

"Good! Follow me!"

She then proceeded to open the gates with the clock of a button. The gates made a melancholic sound as it slowly opened. Aria's eyes widened as he saw what was hidden by the gates.

The school was incredibly large, almost like it was a city itself. He could see people his age walking around with black outfits and golden trims, most likely students.

The infrastructure stood out the most, each carrying a silver glint, glass covering most of not all the parts, but he still wasn't able to see what was happening inside.

He could also see various lights powered by beast crystals creating a sort of luminous glow with this metal used in constructing the buildings.

The floors were incredibly neat, as if they were cleaned regularly. Looking at himself, it almost felt like he was the one tainting the neat environment with his clothes.

"Hello! Are you still with me!" Anna said as she waved her hands in front of him, waking him from his line of thoughts. Perhaps she has been trying to get his attention for a while now.

He sighed lightly, "I was just lost in thought. Let's continue please."

She let out a chuckle, "And where did you grow to be shocked like this— the outskirts?"

He looked back at her before whispering, "You don't know the half of it!"
