Monday, a day of weariness.
Forgetting what was learned last week, having enjoyed the weekend, chatting limitlessly with friends at this time, and then having to try and review lessons afterward.
The above describes none other than Yuigahama Yui.
She was constantly recounting her weekend experiences to Yukinoshita Yukino, while her small boat of understanding teetered precariously amidst the giant waves of mathematics.
Yukinoshita Yukino occasionally responded with "Mm, okay" to Yuigahama Yui, her attention somewhat distracted, focusing more on Kisaragi Rin.
The Service Club seemed to have been redecorated over the weekend, now featuring a long table and seats with soft backrests. Kisaragi Rin sat at the head of the table, yawning and reading a light novel.
After the Demon Slayer return, neither Yukinoshita Yukino nor Hachiman Hikigaya brought up leaving the club again.
Kisaragi Rin had also started to care a bit more about the Service Club, no longer always staying aloof from the game as he had before, showing a bit more initiative in participating.
Yuigahama Yui keenly noticed the unusual atmosphere, feeling a bit lost, and as usual, played the role of enlivening the mood.
Yuigahama Yui said with annoyance, "Kisaragi-san, hurry up and approve my club application!"
"Since you know you haven't joined the Service Club yet, don't keep staying here."
Kisaragi Rin replied casually, earning nods of agreement from Yukinoshita Yukino and Hachiman Hikigaya.
Because Yuigahama Yui was there, Yukinoshita Yukino and Hachiman Hikigaya had many things about players they wanted to say but couldn't.
"Yuki, how can you be like this?"
Yuigahama Yui looked at Yukinoshita Yukino in shock, feeling betrayed.
Yukinoshita Yukino calmly replied, "That's the truth, you know. The Service Club has its own responsibilities; it's not a place for casual fun."
"Even if you say that, in reality, I'm still the only one who has come seeking help so far, right?"
Yuigahama Yui muttered quietly.
It's a normal reaction for a regular student to retreat after seeing the strange name 'Service Club'.
Yuigahama Yui herself only hesitated and walked in after Hiratsuka-sensei's recommendation.
"Then they can only blame their will to request help for not being firm enough."
Yukinoshita Yukino would never think it was a problem with the name she chose.
Kisaragi Rin flipped through the light novel in his hand and warned her, "Yuigahama Yui, if you don't catch up on your math homework, you might have to stand outside during the afternoon class."
Upon hearing this, Yuigahama Yui quickly wilted. Math was simply her nightmare; she had finished all other subjects, but only this one had dragged on until now.
After doing it with a worried expression for a moment, Yuigahama Yui's spirits picked up again.
Yukinoshita Yukino would definitely explain a lot of problem-solving methods and then ask her to do them again—pass.
Hachiman Hikigaya's math grades were quite poor, even worse than her own—direct pass.
That left only Kisaragi Rin. Yuigahama Yui moved her chair to Kisaragi Rin's side, showing a fawning expression: "Kisaragi-san, I have a request!"
"All requests are to be handled by Yukinoshita Yukino."
Kisaragi Rin replied without lifting his head.
"Please, President."
Yuigahama Yui grabbed Kisaragi Rin's arm and shook it, her well-developed body particularly eye-catching.
The students of Soubu High seemed to have their own sense of aesthetics, wearing their uniforms in various ways. Yuigahama Yui's outfit was a bit messy, with one button undone. Compared to Yukinoshita Yukino's unchanging long socks, Yuigahama Yui wore short socks, revealing very fair and tender thighs.
"If you want to just gloss over your homework, you can just use a problem-solving app, mochi." Kisaragi Rin didn't quite understand Yuigahama Yui's thought process.
"But using a problem-solving app always feels like cheating, whereas asking someone else doesn't. It's entirely part of my own effort."
Yuigahama Yui had her own distorted logic, and then she realized something.
"What, mochi!" Yuigahama Yui's face turned red, "Why are you calling me that?"
"Because of your hairstyle. The side looks like a mochi, you know."
Kisaragi Rin reached out and flicked the mochi on one side of her head. He didn't know how the hairstyle was done, but it wobbled when he flicked it.
"What I mean is, why are you giving me a nickname? Yuki and Hikigaya don't have one."
Yuigahama Yui looked around at the three of them, her mind racing, and finally confirmed that Kisaragi Rin had indeed not said anything similar.
"You gave me one first, as you said, it's a term of endearment, not a nickname."
"In that case, I must choose a new nickname for you."
Yuigahama Yui racked her brains, then suddenly thought of something and smiled, "How about JOJO? Rin-go kinda sounds like JO, and with a cute reduplication, I can totally call you JOJO."
"Please, absolutely do not call me that. I feel like I'll be entangled by something for life."
Not only that, Kisaragi Rin also didn't want to become the next corpse.
"That's too unfair! Why can you call me that, but I can't call you that?"
"I'll teach you math, alright?"
Yuigahama Yui instantly stopped her fussing, though she planned to resume her counterattack after the math lesson.
She said she wanted Kisaragi Rin to teach her, but in reality, there was no difference from Kisaragi Rin just doing it for her.
Yuigahama Yui was shocked by Kisaragi Rin's speed. Before she could even finish reading the problem, Kisaragi Rin had already written down the answer, leaving Yuigahama Yui with a bewildered expression.
"It's just a quick task."
University math doesn't have too many groundbreaking problems, just classic and frequently discussed types. With Kisaragi Rin's intelligence of up to 29, he didn't even need scratch paper.
Yuigahama Yui grumbled, "I don't even write first-grade problems as fast as you do."
Just then, the Service Club door suddenly opened.
A strangely behaving, oddly dressed student walked in.
